Chapter 51
“With what? No wallet, no money, no credit card.” Ryan sighed. “No nothing.”
Shaun led him over to the right shelf, telling him to get something. “You can pay me back when you get back on your feet.”
Ryan protested, but Shaun refused to take no for an answer, so Ryan picked the cheapest painkiller available. Then, Shaun insisted he get a set of sweats and a pair of sneakers which were on sale, as well as socks. “Not quite winter gear, but better than scrubs and bare feet.” While Shaun paid, Ryan went into the restroom to change, thanking him profusely when he rejoined him. Shaun waved it off, and they went on to the restaurant.
When they were seated, Shaun told Ryan to order anything he wanted. “But nothing heavy. The same holds true now as it did with the energy bars. You haven’t eaten for way too long. Your stomach might protest.”
