Instantly regret flashed across Thor and Loki's faces as they sneaked glances at the cradle, worried they had awoken the baby. Unfortunately, Ivar had indeed woken up, his large eyes observing the brothers.
Thankfully, he was not crying.
Noticing this, both lads visibly relaxed.
"Look what you did, you dumb brute!"
"It's your fault Loki!" Thor retorted.
Amidst their bickering they however overlooked the astonishment on the newly born baby's face.
.
'Loki? Thor?' As these words made their way into Ivar's ears, he felt a strange tingle near his heart.
'Don't tell me!' A thought took form in mind.
'Was I reborn into the norse mythology or something?'
He glanced at the two lads bickering before him. Noticing their appearances, another thought flashed through his head.
'What if this is not the norse mythology but something different...'
'They do look a bit familiar. Could this be... Marvel?' As Ivar thought of the possibility, he suddenly felt excitement grip his heart.
He was my no means confirmed of the theories, but just the possibility alone was enough to make him fill to the brim with excitement.
'God I hope I am right!' He prayed sincerely as his body again surrendered to the snares of sleep.
.
One year later
A young boy, no older than 1, with black hair, and eyes of the same dark colour could be seen tentatively walking around a magnificent palace.
He took small steps, almost stumbling a few times in his tries to walk properly.
"Come on Ivar, you can do this." Frigga, his mother was kneeling just a little distance away from him as she urged him to complete the grand milestone of...well walking.
The boy, not disappointing his mother, successfully made his way towards his mother, on his own two feet.
"Excellent child!" Frigga smiled as she hugged him tightly.
The boy Ivar embraced her back but his mind was preoccupied with thoughts.
In the past one year of his life, he was just a feeble baby, unable to do much of anything.
However, that did not stop him from gaining information.
His suspicions had turned out to be correct, he had indeed been born into the world of Marvel, more specifically MCU.
His father was Odin, his mother Frigga, his brother was Thor and ofcourse he couldn't forget about his adopted brother—the future destroyer of New York City— Loki.
'Atleast I was born as the son of Odin. Asgardians are naturally strong, and live long lives. Hopefully I have gained some fraction of divinity from my father.'
Ivar thought to himself, hoping for the best. To be fair, he couldn't do much as a 1 year old baby.
Just for his survival alone, he was dependent on others. This left a bitter taste in his mouth.
