Diya's day was ruined after that incident with Rowan. She couldn't focus on teaching no matter how hard she tried. It was already 2 p.m. when she left the school after submitting the reports.
Diya stopped at her favorite cafe on her way back home to relieve the headache that had been killing her since this morning. "Welcome miss, how's your day? The usual?" the waiter recognized her right away. It wasn't a surprise to Diya as she's a regular there.
Diya smiled at him and replied, "Hello. I had a very bad day, and yes, please.". She sat in her usual spot and started to scroll on her Instagram.
"Here's your order miss and your favorite chocolate cake to lift your spirit. It's on the house." The waiter said with a big smile. Diya gratefully thanked him and took a sip from her latte.
"Hmm... How good! If only humans were at least half good as this coffee." Diya sighed.
While checking her surroundings, she noticed that most of the women's eyes was on the table that was in front of her. A man was there, working on his iPad; wearing a black suit. She couldn't see his face as he was showing his back to her.
After a few minutes, another man walked in and sat at the same table before her. He was in a blue suit; turning more heads his way because of his handsomeness.
Diya was never the type to stare at men so she avoided them after a glance.
"Hey bro. It's been a while. How are you?". Diya heard the 'blue suit' man's voice.
"What do you want?". This time, it was the other man.
"Haha. You sure are impatient. We've been friends for 11 years. Can't you spare me some time?".
The other man smirked without saying anything.
"Are you still angry at me? See here, Ajay. If you want to blame someone for everything that happened, then blame yourself. Sara was your girlfriend for 4 years. I know that you loved her but you didn't give her the affection and attention she needed. You were always busy with studies or work. Relationships don't work this way. You can't expect her to be with you without expecting anything in return.".
"That's why you slept with her." Diya could hear the sarcasm in Ajay's tone.
'Seems like only his looks are good.'
Raj frowned. "Don't make me the bad guy here. That day, Sara cried the whole time we were drinking. She was deeply hurt. I've always felt sorry for her. I just wanted to comfort her.".
'How shameless.'
Ajay had no expression on his face. He just kept quiet without saying anything.
As this angered Raj, he raised his voice. "Why aren't you saying anything? You don't want to waste your breath on someone like me, ah? Who do you think you are? You're nothing without my dad! If he didn't give his support, you'd be begging for money in the streets with your brother.".
Diya could feel the temperature turning cold.
