Chapter 37

Ajay placed his hand on Diya's fisted hand and held it strongly showing that he'll take care of the situation. "I don't mind.". Everyone was taken aback when they heard him. "W-what?" Ananya looked at him confused.

"I said I don't mind." he then waved at the waiter; calling him over, "One chocolate mousse, to go.". Kaia and Mira were so jealous of Diya at that moment after witnessing Ajay's attentiveness. No one noticed the almost-crying man from Mira's 'learn from him' look.

Ajay turned to face Ananya again. "Whether she's an abuser's daughter or a cheater's daughter, it doesn't matter. I'm not married to him. Diya is not to be blamed for her father's actions and I don't want to listen to one more criticism about my wife from you.".

Ananya was scared by the glare and turned to Manav for support. As a good boyfriend, he came to her aid. "My girlfriend just wanted to help you. Don't be too harsh on her. Diya's family is problematic and FYI she's so boring. We dated for 2 years but she didn't give in to a kiss which I badly wanted, not even once. " Manav said, whispering the last past.

Ajay's face darkened. He stood up and smirked when Manav backed away; frightened. "Don't worry. I'm not going to hit you although I badly want to." Ajay said mockingly; grabbing the takeout from the waiter. There were a few chuckles from the others which made Manav fume with embarrassment. Ananya continued to shout at them; calling them names but the group of five didn't care at all.

Ajay turned to Diya and extended his hand, "Let's go.". Diya gladly took it and stood up followed by Kaia, Ravi, and Mira. Ajay stopped them when he saw them reaching for their wallets. "It's my treat today. Thank you for always taking good care of Diya and please continue to do so.".

"Are you bribing us? If yes, I'll gladly accept it.". Ravi shook his head at Kaia's silliness and said, "She's our friend. We'll care for her even if you didn't do such things.". He finally gave in as Diya and Ajay insisted on paying.

Suddenly, there was a sound of a chair falling and a few gasps. They turned to see a few guards holding onto Manav and him yelling at Ajay. "Who do you think you are? Did that wench say that it's okay to look down on me? You slut! I should've ruined you that day!".

Diya was confused to see Ajay signaling the guards to let him go. Everyone was startled when they saw Manav rushing toward Diya. A few shouts were heard and the next second, Manav was flying across the hall and fell a few tables away. Ananya let out a scream and ran to him. She crouched down and leaned him on her.

Ajay stepped closer to them and said, "You can kiss goodbye to your job, Mr. Manav. AJ Empire will never entertain this kind of behavior from its employees.". "Who do you think you are?". Ajay sighed. "Why does everyone ask me that? I know for a fact that I'm Ajay, the CEO of AJ Empire and today I'm here as Diya's husband.".

He saw Manav and Ananya's wide eyes, "Now that you know who am I, you should've realized how powerful I am too. So, don't even bother to think about Diya after today, or else be ready for your doom.".
