Worth It!

Not only Silver Fists, but some of the other Gladiators also glanced towards Ramero.

Despite his clearly hurting body shown by the blood that slowly drizzled out of his mouth due to his injured internal organs, Ramero is currently pushing himself up and down in the push-up position. Clear determination can be seen on his face.

Ramero uses everything that he has in order to finish these ten reps of his.

It doesn't matter even if the blood that came out of his mouth already created a small pool beneath him, Ramero keeps on trying his hardest to push his body to the absolute limit. Being bullied like earlier completely anger him.

Even though he's not the strongest back in his home world, this is completely different.

When he was sparring with Charlie for example back in his home world, he never won against Charlie but it's different since he already gives it his all. But now, he definitely can take down those Gladiators that attacked him.

Only his weak body prevents him from doing what he wanted to do.

Being charged like the first Gladiator that attacked him did, Ramero knows that he could've landed a solid knee to the head which definitely would put the first Gladiator to sleep. But his body reacted too slowly, and his body coordination is even poorer.

Knowing that he decided to become stronger and live his dream life here, the life of a warrior.

If he was to analyze his situation carefully, everything that he wanted can be achieved here. Gladiators are respected through their individual prowess, and he's also blessed with the Indomitable Spartan System that would make him strong physically.

What better chance to live his dream life of becoming a fearsome fighter aside from this?

"Rrrgghh!!" Ramero gritted his teeth so hard as he pushes his body up, he already did six reps in one go despite his body wanting to give up numerous times. Squats and 1 Km run have been completed easily, he doesn't have that many issues except the occasional sharp sting on his ribs.

Ramero managed to complete them in one go, there was no stopping him at that moment.

Now that he was down to do the last ten reps of push-ups, the feeling of being unstoppable instantly vanished as the pain is just too much to bear. Doing push-ups is straining his torso more than the other two exercises.

But he's so close to finishing, this is the last exercise, and he's unwilling to give up

Although he could just get the normal rewards, he aimed for higher.

'I don't know when I would gain a chance like this again, it's better to make it count!'

With that in his mind, Ramero decided that he would aim to complete the Main Quest completely. If he did that then he would gain 2,000 Points and 2,000 Exp! That would definitely give him the boost he needed to survive.

Slowly but surely, Ramero kills through the ten reps of push-ups.

From the side, Silver Fists is quite intrigued as well as confused as to what drives him to be this determined. Being bullied shouldn't give him this much motivation, it was as if Ramero is possessed by the soul of a fearsome fighter from ancient times.

The level of determination is astonishing, even the other Gladiators also thought of the same thing.

Crack!

Ramero's chest made a cracking sound which stabs him with immense pain as he was about to finish the last rep, the pain is unbelievable as saliva mixed with blood started to drool out of his mouth from the sheer horrifying torment.

But despite that, he kept pushing up even though his body is already shaking uncontrollably.

It was at that moment that he closed his eyes trying to search for any strength left around his body, the thought of him dying despite being given this chance by God to actually live his dream life made his blood boils.

At that point, a do-or-die state got triggered in his body.

With the surging strength that helped him do the last rep of push-up, Ramero pushes his own body weight with everything he had, surrendering everything to his instinct. But as he was pushing with all his might, a light-sharp sound reverberates inside his mind.

[DING!]

[Do 10 Push-ups - 10/10]

[Congratulation! The host has completed the first Main Quest - Strong Body Strong Mind!]

[The host has obtained 200 Points, 200 Exp, and Rejuvenation!]

[Courage of the Weak special effect is detected, and the 10x amplification has been applied. The host has obtained 2,000 Points, 2,000 Exp, and High Rejuvenation instead of the basic completion rewards!]

[Level Up!]

[Level Up!]

[Level Up!]

[Level Up!]

Immediately after the succession of system notifications appeared, Ramero falls to the ground.

Ramero can hear the dinging sound ringing inside his ears and he can't help but smile, rolling his body to face the sky, exposing his satisfied smile for managing to do something that is quite impossible for his state.

'I fucking did it...' he thought inside his head, happy that he go through with the pain.

With the High Rejuvenation reward from completing the quest, Ramero slowly feels his entire body being massaged again and the pain slowly fading away alongside his fatigue. It was a magical feeling every time he experience this sensation.

Opening his eyes he was greeted by the bright sun as if the world is smiling at him.

Slowly sitting back up with the entire wounds that he sustained from being bullied disappearing, even the broken ribs were completely healed. Ramero looks around and finds Silver Fists looking at him from the side, 'I need to act normal, it would be suspicious when I suddenly can get up'

Pretending to still be in pain, Ramero crawls to the edge and leans on the wall.

Looking around once more he finds that the other Gladiators including Silver Fists are not paying attention to him anymore, they might think he's a lunatic for exercising in the condition he's in right now.

Just like his home world, his body wouldn't develop if he forced his body like that.

One needs proper food, routine, and rest to develop a strong body, but that only applies to normal people. Ramero has the system, and the Rejuvenation reward helped with all of that. As long as he can do the hard exercise, he would be rewarded without fail.

Deciding not to stay still until the training time is over, Ramero opens his status window.

'Hah! I got way stronger, what was it? About 3 times stronger?' Ramero thought in excitement, going through that hellish reps that topped even back when he was still in his home country was well worth it.

If it weren't for the 2,000 Exp, he wouldn't reach level 5 and only reach level 2 instead.

Despite wanting to test out his new power right this instant, he knows that he can't. It's better to try it out when he's back in his jail cell where nobody is watching. Going for 20 reps of push-ups instantly right after he hardly does 10 would be really suspicious, and he doesn't want any of that.

Especially since it's not only the Gladiators watching him, but the guards are also eyeing him.

But his mind was interrupted when the system showed him his next main quest.

[Strong Mind Strong Body - 2/4]

Do 10 Pull-ups - 0/10

Run 5 Km - 0/5

Normal Rewards: 50 Points, 50 Exp, Front Kick skill, and Rejuvenation.

Completion Rewards: 1,000 Points, 1,000 Exp, and Rejuvenation.

'5 times harder than the previous ones, but with my current strength this wouldn't be that much harder to achieve. Aside from that, I still have 12 Attributable stats. Let's dedicate those stats to finish this next quest' Ramero thought with a nod of his head.

Compared to the other two main quests, this one is still way easier.

Ramero hasn't even identified the strongest Gladiator here, he even got easily destroyed by two Gladiators already and they both are probably not the strongest, that alone shows that he's not strong enough to fight the strongest Gladiator.

As for learning spearmanship, he doesn't have a clue how to do that. It's impossible for him.

'How come I didn't get anything for starters from you, system? All I get is a fat debt, how is that even fair?' Ramero complained in his head, the system didn't give him any welcoming gift whatsoever.

If he got a spearmanship manual, for example, he could work on that.

[A Spartan's life deserve nothing but hardships, it's essential to become stronger. Shortcuts are not provided, if the host wanted to get stronger quickly then try and find a way to finish the main quest quicker]

[Host is prohibited from having soft thoughts, doing it again will be penalized heavily]

'Alright, alright, geez... I'm just saying there's no need to take it so seriously, and what the heck is the penalty anyway?' Ramero thought while waiting for the training time is over, the sun is already nigh golden so it must be close.

[Host will be given three warning chances, the last warning's punishment will be death]

Upon hearing this Ramero got choked by his own saliva as he was not expecting the punishment to be so severe, death is a little bit excessive for him. But then again, he doesn't have any say in this, the system will make him stronger after all.

In a moment, the training session has finally come to an end.

Guards brought the Gladiators back into the school, the Gladiators are given their lunch at the cafeteria with the same menu before being brought back to their jail cells. Nothing is out of place, the process went in smoothly.

While heading back to his jail cells, Ramero frowned as he noticed something.

'Hold on a minute, I don't recall the training ground being this long. I don't see any doors that would lead to the empty gap too, what is beside this wall?' Ramero thought in confusion, he was quite certain that the training ground is not as long as the hallway to get back to his jail cell.

Knowing that there must be something besides this wall.

The weird part is that when he was in the training ground, he can see the end of the training ground. So the place beside this wall should be the training ground, but Ramero is sure that the training ground is not this long.

Just as he was about to reach his jail cell, he instinctively hold the wall when the ground shakes.

Rumble!

"Dearil is at it again, who did he hurt this time" one of the two guards mutters and chuckled.

Upon hearing this the other one replied, "Someone probably challenges him for the first spot again, when will those fool mages learn that Dearil is not to be messed with. But hey, it's fun to watch their drama from the side" he laughed out loud.

Ramero heard their conversation before a frown appeared on his face, "Mages...?"

Out of everything that the two guards discussed, his mind was intrigued by the term 'Mages' they are using. Ramero should be in medieval times, and mages might not intrinsically refer to the mages inside his mind.

'Doctors are probably called mages at this time, I couldn't judge it at face value' Ramero thought.

But even though he tries to make sense of what just happened, he can't really make sense of how a doctor can make the entire building rumbles like that. It's just not possible, 'Wait, I swear the system also mention something using the word 'magic' before...'

Ramero soon remembered that the word 'magic' was associated with the Knight's Rancor.

'If I'm not mistaken the system told me that the Knight's Rancor is a poison from a third-rank magic plant, does this world has magic? But that's like fantasy so it's not possible' he thought with a frown, this is the real world so he doesn't believe in that kind of thing.

Many beliefs stated that magic is real, but there's no substantial proof to back it up.

With that Ramero puts the thought at the back of his head and considered the rumbling building a weird occurrence, he then got thrown back inside his jail cell again before the guards locked his cell and left.
