"We're moving~..! Ugh, I'm so excited~...! I have to go pack my bags, call Lawanda, oh there's so much to do~..!"
Heather ran up the stairs, giggles filling the ears of everyone present in the house. "Doesn't it take time to move? She's acting like we'll be out of here by tommorow morning or something.."
Clay sat his book down at the dining table, speaking aloud to his father who sat on the couch and loosened his tie.
"Well, maybe not tommorow morning, but probably the day after?"
"Huh? How? The whole process of moving takes atleast a months time. But you're saying we can do it in two days? That's.." Kazemi flashed his badge for Clay to see and when he did,..
"I'm a cop. We have our ways.."
What Clay didn't know was that them moving have been in the works for quite some time now.
With things like shootings in elementary schools, or in grocery stores, America was becoming a place that gave off fear instead of freedom.
Kazemi only moved here to get away from his previous home in Japan, and to follow Heather in hope for a better life.
'Things are turning to shit by the day. I don't know how long I can protect the people for. I'm getting older and rustier. I'm not young and youthful like I used to be..'
Out the corner of his eyes, he looked at Clay. 'He can heal from anything, I assume. He can be just about anything. A police officer, someone in the military, an astronaut,.. anything! But the thing is, how much time does he have?
He's nineteen and as an [Ability Holder], he's very lucky to have his power at his age. Heck, he could lose his power at any given moment.
But hey, he wants to protect people and that requires serious skill. We don't know how long he'll have this ability for. That means we'll have to put him through hell while we still can..'
Not knowing his abilities were permanent, Kazemi thought they were in a time crunch. "I guess I should start packing as well. When is the moving truck coming?"
"There isn't one. One thing you should know is that the school with other [Ability Holders] such as yourself houses dorms for you to stay in. But besides that, your mom and I already found a place and had people import furniture and such in it, so we don't need to move all this stuff over.
We did it like this so we wouldn't raise such a fuss, y'know? Never know who's watching and listening.."
The part about the dorms sort of surprised him while everything else he heard was just another reason for moving.
'Dorms, huh? That means I get my own place technically. Awesome..' The idea of having a free space all to himself would excite any teenager.
"Then all I have to do is pack my clothes and figurines?" Kazemi said 'Yeah' and Clay went on. Before going upstairs, he brought along his book.
'When I tell Ryan about this, he'll probably be all sad. Seeing his best friend leave like this so suddenly will break his heart..'
As for Clay, since he was immortal and all, he had all the time in the world. There really wasn't any need to be sad to leave when he could come back whenever.
'Just gotta set a reminder to come back in time before he turns into a vegetable..'
He reached his room, turning on the its light. A bed, a desk with a tv on it, shelves filled with transformer toys, walls that had posters of his favorite characters in fiction,..
'16 years in this room. Gonna miss it, not gonna lie..'
Also above his room, there was an attic where he had set up a sort of chill zone that he and a friend from a long time ago used to hang out at all the time.
He hasn't been up there in a long time, though he'd sometimes frequently visit just for the memories.
He sat his book down on the desk then went over to his walk in closet, turning its light on as well. He had an overwhelming amount of clothes and shoes in it. Were talking about maybe 10 teenagers wardrobes combined.
'Having a model as your mom comes with many perks like this one. A bassically infinite supply of things to wear and show off..'
Watched, chains, belts. Name any accessories relating to ones outfit and he had it.
He grabbed a dark blue suitcase that was in the corner and opened it. 'Japanese schools choose uniforms as their dress code. That way people can be sort of equal. It also lessens clothing expenses since you don't have to constantly buy outfits.'
For his clothing, he decided to pack 'lightly'. For his shoes, he did the same. 'I can only speak a little bit of japanese, but I can write in it as easily as I can write english.
My country accent sort of makes it hard to speak fluent japanese correctly which is why I can't speak it well..'
His mom was a farm girl before she was a model. Out in the country, cows as her best friends and roosters as her alarm clock.
'Thankfully she had to tone down her thick accent once she met dad. She didn't want him to adopt her accent, so she had to.'
He zipped his suitcase back up and went back to his shelves full of toys and figurines. 'I might just have to leave these out and carry them. They'd break if I put them in a suitcase..'
He laid the suitcase agaisnt the wall, then went over to the door that connected his and Eve's room.
Going in, you could tell instantly that Eve was a fan of coral and teal colors as even things like her doorknob was painted in such .
"Hey, Eve.." He looked around, only to see her sleeping in her king sized bed. Her arms were spread, drool coming out her mouth and onto her clothes then the bed. Clay thought she must've been having the best sleep of her life right now.
He stared down, smirked then started looking around again. 'I wonder if she'll miss this place? Meh, she might not even remember this house when shes grown up. Nothing to worry about, I guess..'
He knew she was odd, having intellect way beyond her age, but it'd be inhuman for a 12 year old child or something to remember something from when they were just 3. It isn't possible.
'I'll let mom do her packing. I should really start studying on the Japanese and their culture and adequate..' When leaving behind his country, Kazemi also left behind their customs.
The typical taking your shoes off when entering your house, the manners when eating, he left behind all of that.
'Dad did all of that, but deep down, we know he misses home. Friends, family, he left them behind not only for mom, but to peruse his dreams as a world renowned cop.
It's another reason why moving will bring about good changes. He can be at home again with his people, live a life of luxury that he deserves..'
Even though superheroes were real, he considered his dad, someone with no ability whatsoever, to be the perfect hero.
'I look up to dad way too much. He inspired this mentality I have. Most people who gain superpowers would easily become anything but a hero.
I can understand why.
But me,.. I really like seeing faces of relief whenever someone like a hero arrives. Like all the bad just washes away, y'know..?'
He chuckled while shaking his head and going back onto the laptop, starting his research on the Japanese culture and whatnot.
....
"He has decided. Clay Ozerden will join us."
Their clasped hands came undone as their eyes slowly opened, their brown pupils fading into purple.
Out in front of them, an oval shaped table that housed 9 occupied seats including the one they were in, 10 total seats at the table.
"Took him 34 days to decided. He doesn't have it in him. I can tell."
The one to speak was a kid with a red hair tied into a ponytail and blue eyes that rivaled blueberries.
He spoke with confidence and subtle arrogance and whenever he did speak, his voice always caught the attention of others as it was not only filled with evident confidence, but was deep as well, standing out from whoever they'd be around.
"Shouta, when exactly will he arrive? We want to be prepared in welcoming him."
The voice was quiet and calm. It made you feel at ease, making you feel butterflies even. Shouta, the kid with purple eyes and who had looked no older than 10, gazed at her and said, "Two days. He shall arrive in two days.."
He was also calm, but in the shy and shriveled way. Nevertheless, he could hold back his timid ways when in meetings like this one.
"Like O.M.G-uh~! We should totally like, throw the best welcoming party for him~! Eek~..!"
She was loud, full of vigor and joy. A nuisance to some, but she pretty much brought all the hype to the group.
Without her presence, they would never get together to do things like 'hanging out' or these group meeting. Having to drag everyone here is a pain for her, but she doesn't mind it.
"He's a dude. Dude's don't like that type of stuff."
This guy and the other guy who had red hair fist bumped. "Yeah. He'll get here and well send his little friends to fetch for him." The always arrogant sounding kid stood up and everyone looked at him.
They could usually ignore him since they've known him for some time, but anyone would look someone's way when seeing them stand.
"If this is all, I'm leaving. I've got way more important things to do than talking about someone irrelevant."
He placed his hands in his pockets and started walking away. His friend got up and followed behind, the two leaving the dimily lit room.
The kids, ages of which, invluding the two that just left, had varied from 13 to 18. That's why overall, the group couldn't function well together with each other because everyone wasn't on the same level of maturity as each other.
"Wha~...?! Irrelevant-tuh? Larius really is just a hater!" The vigorous girl crossed her arms and looked away. "Grass is green. Anyways, I'll also have to take my leave. I actually have somewhere to be."
More and more stood up, leaving while saying they had places to be. While some actually had placed to go like to the grocery store, others just didn't want to spend any more time around these people, so leaving was the best option.
"Mary, our team isn't as functional as always.." Shouta sighed, Mary being the woman who was always seen as calmed and collected. They were the only ones left in the room by this point.
"We're only recruiting him because of his ability, but...it's not fair that he'll be joining a team that's as disfucntuonal as this one. We're all over the place..." He put his head down while shaking it on the table.
"Shouta, don't worry yourself too much. I mean, it's not like he has to be our friend. No one here does. He can just make friends with the other students."
"That's...true, but.."
His sigh became more exaggerated, but in the end, he just shrugged it off. "Come on. Let's just forget about it. You're worrying yourself over nothing.."
She reached over and held the back of his hand. Like in animes, he visibly blushed and smiled.
"Yeah.."
He said, standing up as she did. They then held each others hand as they walked out of the room together, locking the door behind themselves and leaving.
The lights in the room automatically turned on, revealing that the room looked similar to a teachers lounge. Printers, vending machines, a restroom, etc. Simply put, it was just a normal room with no oddities.
Well, besides the ghost chair that pushed out from the table.
'Clay...Ozerden..'
A person appeared in the chair as they slowly began to stand up, holding a white piece of paper. On it, an entire profile of someone named, Clay Ozerden. From how he looks, to his height and age, it had basic information about him.
'They're saying he has the power to regenerate from anything..' As they looked at the picture of him, nemurous ideas sprouted in their head, leading them to smile and reveal two notably large teeth which upon further inspection were actually fangs.
Their tounge started licking over their teeth and then over their light cherry lips. 'He's perfect~...' They thought, setting down the paper and smirking.
'I'll finally be able to..'
She kept repeating in her head as she turned towards the window, looking out of it and staring down at the humans who walked along the sidewalks.
'With him, I'll finally be able to satisfy my urges~...'
The mere idea of finally having someone she could leach off of made her wet.
'In just two days, I'll have an infinite supply of energy. This is perfect.'
As a chuckle upon, her entire being turned into a pale-blond ball, no larger than a tennis ball. It then went in and out of the window, going towards a random person and thinking,
'But until then, these people will have to continue to satisfy me.'
"H-Hello, sir.." The 56 year old man instinctively looked back at the person who got their attention with a hand placed upon their shoulder.
"I'm sorry to trouble you, but I can't seem to find my way to the station. Could you maybe...help me?"
Instanly, he was captivated by her charms. The piercings in her ears, the perfume that danced in his nostrils, and to top it all of, the school uniform she wore. Knowing she was a younger girl was what truly excited him.
"Y-Yes!" He said loudly, the girl laughing and nodding at his awkwardness. Seeing this as a chance to ruse the cute and innocent gyaru, he thought, 'Nice face and body as well. The guys will love her..'
He snickered, laughing in his head and saying outloud, "Let's go then, little lady. I'll gladly help you if you need me to.." She hovered her hand over her mouth and with a wave from her other hand, she said,
"Why you.." Fake laughing but easily deceiving the man was all to easy. She held the man, arm in arm and they started walking down the sidewalk together. Their were glances from onlookers, but they chose to ignore it.
'We're gonna screw the hell out of her.'
'I'm gonna drain the life outta this fool.'
They were each forcing laughs, but in just a few hours, only one party would have the last laugh. It'll be an unsavory meal for one, but at least they'll get the energy they need from it.
