Chapter 4

When Peter and the others entered the feasting hall which was like a huge medieval cafeteria yet it looked welcoming and clean as modern boarding school cafeteria. The members of the resistance mingled with each other as they eat and Peter noticed, with surprise, that there were heroes who had been previously imprisoned by the SHRA. 'How did they get here?' Peter thought as everyone suddenly became became quiet as they noticed him. "Like Highschool all over again." Peter muttered to Mary Jane who smirked knowingly. Then Captain America and Hunter rose, followed by everyone else and those closest reached out to touch Peter as he walked past as if he was the Messiah himself, but probably to give him comfort for the crime to his family. Who went to meet the Resistance leader. "It good to see you up and about son." Steve said embracing Peter in a big bear hug. "Thanks to you, all of you…" Peter added to the room at large as he was released by Captain America and hugged by Hunter "Though if I recall, the Suns made it clear that they weren't going to take sides in this war, or did I get hit harder my head than I thought?" Hunter smiled. "You are correct, us Suns did say we weren't going to choose side. But you are still considered a Midnight Sun Peter, and when Stark dishonored you by exposing your secret without your consent, we could not stay neutral anymore. Especially when a unknown threat is rising and we will need the best of earth's honorable champions in order to face it."

"Right so, what do you know?" Peter asked as everyone sat back down and Peter began feeding his daughter some lemon pudding that had appeared in an empty bowl. "Well when it comes to the different primordial beings that shaped the universe, among those for Earth were the Titans and after them came…" "The Greek Gods." Peter finished Hunter's sentence, remembering his ancient history, and she nodded. "Before my death centuries ago when my mother was under Chthon control. In order to gain an advantage she recruited surviving creatures the ancient heroes used to fight such as a real hydra. Yet now it seem that the creatures and monsters of the Greek world, are finding ways out of Tartarus back into the mortal world. Which isn't too surprising considering demons occasionally escape Hell, yet something have changed."

"What?" Asked Peter as he scooped pudding off May's bottom lip. "The creatures of old may have been monsters, but they were still flesh and blood creatures part of this world. While the demons of Chthon were from his dimension. Yet now theses monsters have a strange red corruption with them that we haven't seen and when one of them is slain it's form turns into red dust. Which we learned would disappear and returns to where it appeared from or somewhere else where the monster will regenerate back to its normal-ish red state form. Depending on the beast the regeneration can happen in less then 3 days to two weeks or longer before the monsters returned back to full strength and begin wreaking havoc all over again. Us Suns have been having our hands filled fighting them and what makes it worse is that there also appears to be multiple of what should be one creature. And they been gaining in numbers to where there could be armies of them so…" "You need a army of your own to fight them." Peter said, not as a question. "Yes." Said Caretaker coming up to the table. "And with this so called Civil War going on, we were going see about getting both sides to have a cease fire and agree to fight against this common threat. And as a bonus with the hope that it can help resolve Steve and Stark's issues and put an end to this war."

"But then Stark decided to stab you Web Warriors in the back, while Shield decided to add bullet and rocket to the injury." Said Magik before saying something profound in Russian. Though they were only a few months old, immediately Peter covered May's ears and Sue with Valeria. "Please watch the language around the kids, Illyana?" Magik seem to realize her mistake and apologize. "When Stark revealed your identities, the Suns immediately went to rescue you Peter, along with the other Web Warriors and their families before Stark could take them prisoner, yet we couldn't get to all." Said Hunter sadly. "It's not your fault for Ben handing Aunt May over to Stark, Hunter." Said Peter and Hunter nodded. "We will get her back. Just as we got the heroes imprisoned in Stark's 42 prison in the Negative Zone." Magik gritted her teeth. "Of all the places to set up a prison to keep captured heroes, they choose that place. Limbo would've been better." Sue raised a eyebrow at her fellow blonde. "Why's that?" Magik look at Sue. "The best place I can compare the Negative Zone to is Azkaban from the Harry Potter series. The place is like one big Dementor, it does mental and emotional damage to anyone just by being there, even with those cells the effects were still very much felt." Peter and the others look horrified then angry. "Luckily Stark forgot that through Limbo you can go anywhere, Magik." He said.

"Indeed and we offered the heroes a sanctuary here." Hunter said. "They agreed to help fight against the threat, and though we don't like it, we're planning on informing Stark of the threat so he can prepare for it." Peter nodded and looked at Steve. "You okay with this?" The Captain nodded "No doubt Tony is attempting to build a machine or is trying to recruit person with the means to travel here to 'bring us' to his form of justice. But these monsters are a threat to the people and we must protect them, even if they don't see us as heroes." Steve's voice was inspiring as always and Peter wonder why it was so hard for him to choose who to follow. Another bell started ringing. "Speaking of protecting…" Said Steve rising to his feet. "The Myths are in the mood to wreaking havoc they love to feast upon." Peter and the other heroes rose too with Mary Jane picking up May and Sue with Valeria. "Wouldn't be easier just to have Hercules do his old hero worked?" Peter joked as they left the hall and headed towards the Abby. "Except these beasts are so much different and stronger then the beasts I killed in those days Spider." Said Hercules running beside Peter. "But they are giving me new challenges to test myself, it's exciting!" He said with a thrill in his voice that didn't feel comforting to Peter.
