Chater 83. Something's Wrong

"Mission set A failed. Prepare for mission set B," a dark cloaked figure spoke to her palm. One could have missed the communication device on its palm.

The figure was somewhere on the first floor but no one seemed to note it. A concealment array! The figure flashed and disappeared.

Alaric had just been arguing with Rey once again when they were approached. The lady approaching them seemed familiar but they were being unable to place her.

Aurora looked at the two of them and saw the look of deep thought. Well, she had to accept that the incoming lady was a beauty. She was seductively dressed and had more refined features than her.

Aurora could not help but second guess her beauty. She could not dare compare herself to the lady. But she appeared older than them. What would a senior want with them. Had she gained interest in Alaric?

Aurora's eyes flashed with a strange light when she saw the lady stop infront of Alaric. And why was she smiling? She took in deep breaths and changed her visage to look at the ground floor.

Alaric watched the lady approach him specifically. He was beginning to recognize her. It was the lady who had seduced Rey during their first time visiting a hotel in the city. What could she possibly want with them.

She stopped infront of him and brushed the hair on her side and put it on her ear.

"I never thought that you would grow into such a fine young man," she started. No introduction... Acting casual...

"I never thought that you were a student here," Alaric replied in the same tone as her.

"Forgive my rudeness for not introducing myself, Tracy. You must forgive me, business policies should not be taken into account outside business. Dont you agree?" She asked stretching her hand. Aurora was trying hard to not concentrate on them but what business were they talking about?

"I also should have introduced myself, Alaric. I never took it to heart. Atleast I got to eat for free," Alaric said and shook her hand. Aurora had puffed cheeks. Eat for free! What could he possibly have eaten for free? She sent another glance at them and quickly retracted her gaze.

"I like your humour," she said with a light laugh, " You know I just did not just come to introduce myself..."

" Heh..." Aurora blurted out unconciously. She then looked away after seeing their gazes on her.

" And what brings a beautiful lady as you to me? I am curious," Alaric said.

Rey was clearing his throat for the tenth time since Tracy had arrived. He was about to do so for the eleventh time. Could it be that he was invisible to them.

" Oh, this here is the luscious little guy?" Tracy asked.

Hearing her words Rey turned and leaned on the railings staring on the ground floor. He rubbed his nose several times and did not dare look at them or listen.

"Would you mind following me? Its not a good idea talking about it in public," Tracy said. Rey and Aurora sent glances at the two simultaneously but quickly. Rey was now stray in his thoughts.

Could it be that Alaric had chosen to go after her? How come he always acted uninterested but always ended up interested. What was the use of hiding their relationship with introductions then?

"I also don't think that its a good idea taking private matters in public. Lead the way I will follow," Alaric said.

"Heh..." Rey and Aurora blurted out unconciously but seeing the stares they received, they just looked away and scoffed.

"Don't let her out of your sight or I will kill you," Alaric said to Rey. His tone was that of command. Rey just nodded and did not bother to look at him. "If you lose her I swear that I am going to kill you." He insisted.

Irritated, Rey turned and looked at him.

"Fine. You will kill me if I let her out of my sight. Now scram," He said gesturing them to leave. Alaric and Tracy walked side by side heading to the paths leading to the washrooms.

The path reached a branching corridor either going left or right. They took the left turn which led to the female washrooms. They appeared they were not the only ones going that way.

Seeing the direction the two were heading, they thought of following them but did not. At least have a little respect for their friend. Instead why not play a prank on him after he came back?

Around thirty minutes passed and Alaric appeared. He had his robe on his shoulder. He appeared slightly tired and his movement were sluggish. Rey noticed him first and told Aurora to go hide but she did not.

Alaric reached them and stood infront of Aurora. He had the perfume smell Tracy had all over his body. Aurora and Rey had the same thought in their mind. No wonder he was tired. His pupils were sunken and they could not help but wonder how many rounds he had gone.

He seemed to be shaking and unable to stand straight. He then fell forward and leaned on Aurora. Was it that he had exhausted all his strength pleasing her? Aurora thought and hugged his back.

"You still don't see your condition and want more?" Rey asked sarcastically but he received an angry glare from Aurora and he went silent. Aurora suddenly felt something cold on his back stick on her palm. She pulled her hand and looked at it.

She was alarmed. Had he not just woken up and already he was bleeding. Her hand had blood on it. She quickly summoned a recovery pill from her storage ring and put it in his mouth. Rey seemed to not realize it and he was just joking around.

"Are you giving him the pill so that you can also have him perfom on y..." Rey asked but he felt something pierce his leg. He looked to see a thin ice needle. He received a look that asked him to talk again at his own risk.

Aurora took his robe and put it back on him so as not to catch attention. He had fallen asleep but he woke up instantly after she put his robe on. She wanted to direct him to sit on the floor.

She helped him stand straight and but he put his hands on her shoulders.

"What happened?" She asked but she felt his hand hold her wrist as he pulled her.

"We must leave this place," Alaric said. He was leading them to the stairs and he was moving fast.

"Could you stop acting mysterious and tell me what is happening?" Aurora asked her curiosity peaked.

" Does he want to kill himself? Just how long does he think he can last?" Rey mumbled when he saw Alaric pulling Aurora.

" I have no time to explain anything here, we must leave," he said and he created a concealment array around them.

"I need you to channel your energy into the array as much as you can," he said after pausing right before they took the first step down the stairs.

Though confused, Aurora obliged and channeled as much energy into the array. She did not know why he asked her to channel energy into the array but she realized that he wanted to strengthen it.

Her thoughts slightly wondered. Was it that he wanted to do it right there? She stopped her wicked thoughts when she saw his serious look. He was not like someone in need of it at the moment.

The array appeared stronger and anyone would have a hard time seeing through it. He took her hand again and hurried down the stairs. They evaded the people in the way and quickly left the hall.

Rey took a glance immediately they had created an array and he shook his head. They had disappeared. Well , that was fast. He had evil thoughts as he continued to watch the ground floor.

Right at the entrance, Alaric stumbled and fell. The pill she had given should have already started taking effect but it was doing it very slow. The array crumbled. Alaric cursed and stood up quick.

He did not let go of her hand and led the way to the gate. Aurora was now unsure where he was leading them. What could probably have happened for him to react like that?

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"Its not safe here. I will do anything to keep you safe from them," he said and increased his speed. Aurora was confused as to what he was talking about. What exactly did he mean that she was not safe?

" The academy grounds are secure, you know..." She said.

Alaric paused and looked at her. His face was so serious that she had never seen this side of him. Something was wrong... He was always in control of the situation he was in the plight he was in, but this one, he was not.

"They are already here."
