While in class, I was making a water bottle float with my electric telekinesis. I just couldn't help but smile at this... I finally have magic... I can be powerful. I looked up at the board. I glanced down and laid the bottle down. I focused all my attention on the board.
1pBut while looked, I began to hear people talking about me. "Did you hear, apparently Hooder attacked Markus with magic!"
"Well, I mean he deserved it. I mean yeah it's unusual to not be able to use magic, but that does justify bullying." I smirked, leaning back in my chair. This surprise is gonna entertain me for a long time...
It was lunch, me and Delphyne were eating in the front of academy. She was taking small bites, almost like she was embarrassed to eat in front of me. "So, with your new abilities, what do you plan on doing now?" She asked as I put my hands behind my head.
"Well, I can start attending magic training. I was never able to enter since I obviously had no magic. But now I do. Only thing that sucks is that I have to go through a series of battles.. And I'm not very strong.." She crawled over and placed a hand on my shoulders, "Don't say that. You're very strong." I smiled, closing my eyes. "Lets hope you're right."
.....
I looked at the large door, that read, "Tryout." I smiled and looked back at Delphyne. I grabbed the door and opened it. I walked in, it looked like a large simulation room. There were two tables two men at each. "Yo."
One them looked at me and sighed, "What are you doing here Hooder. You know you need magic to get in." I smirked, "Oh I know. You must've not heard the stuff going around." I said as I snapped my fingers, electricity sparking around my finger tips. The man looked dazed at it, "Oh. Well. I guess I can let you try out." I walked up to the desk and signed on the tryout paper. "Go stand at the end of the arena, your opponent will be out shortly." I nodded. He looked towards Delphyne, "Are you trying out as well?" She jumped and shook her head violently. "Oh no! I'm just here as support!" She said waving her hands. He nodded and looked towards me.
I shrugged and smiled. I then walked to the arena. I began to stretch a bit, this'll be my first battle... I'm kinda nervous. Then, at the opposite end, a door opened as someone with bright blue hair came out. Once we stepped onto the arena the area seemed to get cold. "Alright Hooder, you have to go through three battles. First up is Victor the ice magic user." I looked at him. He smirked, "Begin!"
A row a icicles zipped towards me. I got in a stance as a burst of green electricity coated me in a aura. I then moved like a thunderbolt. I ended up in the air, wow I'm fast! I zipped down towards him. He noticed and aimed his hand towards me. He shot out many icicles. I clenched my fist and punched through them. I performed a flip and kicked through the remaining, landing a kick to his face. Electricity sparked on the spot I kicked him. I then grabbed him by the shirt and threw him away. I turned around and got in a stance, waiting for him to recover.
Once he landed on his feet, he opened his hand, a ice sword formed in it. "Sword fight huh?" I removed any space between my fingers as a electricity blade form on my hands. We both zipped towards eachother. Our swords then clashed. I spun around and threw another slash, but he countered it with a slash of his own. A blade then formed on my other hand, as I was able to hit him, electrocuting him. I removed my swords and landed one more kick to his stomach, as he fell to the ground. I stood up straight, breathing heavily. "Great Job Hooder!! Keep it up!!" I turned to face Delphyne, flashing her a smile. Two people in white outfits ran in and grabbed Victor. "Alright Hooder, go back to your spot and wait."
I nodded and walked back. I folded my arms, That was kinda easy... "Alright. Next we have Dylan, the speedster." The door opened as a blur ran in, stopping in the spot where Victor was. "Begin!" Dylan ran towards me, as my eyes widened. I tried to block but he was too quick and landed a punch to my cheek. The force sent me upward. Then he jumped and kicked me back. "Argh."
Electricity sparked around me, time to fight fire with fire. I landed as we both began to run around the arena. But I then held out my arm as he passed me, causing him to run into a clothes-line like attack. I then spun and kicked his side. Once he hit the wall, electricity coated my hands, and I lifted him into the air. I held a single finger and flicking it all over the place, which meant he flew around the arena. I then slammed him to the ground. My electricity faded. Two more people came in and grabbed Barry running off. "Great Job. Just one more." I walked back to my spot. "You're doing amazing!" Delphyne said, giving me a thumbs up. I returned it as I turned to face the door..
Man... I can tell I'm running low. "Alright, your final opponent. Daniel, the earth user." The door opened and Daniel walked in. "Begin!" I waited for his first move. Two vines came out of the ground and came towards me. Electricity bursted around me as I dodged the vines easily. I grabbed them as they pulled me towards Daniel. All he did was stare at me with dead eyes. I aimed a fist to his face but a grassy wall rose up and blocked the attack. My eyes widened, as I let go of the vine, jumping back. Once I landed, my electricity faded and wave of pain washed over me. My eyes went blank for a bit as I spit a small amount of blood. Dammit!! I'm out of mana... I looked up as a vine whipped back and hit me hard.
"Hooder!!" I opened one eye and looked towards Delphyne. "Remember, you have my abilities! There's one ability I have that doesn't use up mana!" I began to think back, what other ability does she have...? My eyes widened, I know! I just have fight off this pain for now.
I landed and sucked in my breath. Once the two vines zipped towards me, I closed my eyes. I opened my mouth, a breath of flames came out of my mouth towards Daniel. Wow... I didn't even think about having her fire breathing abilities. I opened my eyes, as I closed my mouth. I looked over, as the vines and grass wall were burned to a crisp. Once the smoke cleared, Daniel laid on the ground. "Yes!! You did it!" I looked over to the judge.
He sighed, "She's right. You passed. You can attend next week. I'll tell them you made it." I smiled, "Lets go!" Delphyne ran up to me, jumped up and hung from my neck, hugging me. I smiled and hugged her back. "I'm so proud of you!"
"I wouldn't have passed if it wasn't for you Delphyne..." I said, my words slowly getting quieter. The pain I was ignoring came over me, as my eyes went blank. I fell over, falling unconscious...
