But after walking for about an hour, she quickly decided to fly. She set up a barrier before her to shield her from the cold air and went forward.
She ignored all the living obsidian as well, not wanting to waste her time with hunting. After flying straight for only half an hour, she reached the end of the forest.
The further she went away from the barrier, the denser the forest was becoming, but of course, there were still no signs of any other animals.
Savine somewhat expected the forest to go on forever, but a rather surprising landscape met her at the end of it.

A desert appeared before her. The dunes, the rolling sand and the desolation of it all was the same as any other desert. The only difference was that the sand here was black.
She landed on the ground and approached the sand.
Indeed, it was living obsidian. Except it was all grounded up and turned to dust.
