As Yin opened her brother's hospital room door she saw the scene of her brother's eyes slowly opening while their mother held his hand crying. She noted a different, hard gleam in his eyes when he slowly scanned the room, completely unbecoming for someone just waking up from a coma and sighed mentally.
' This look... it seems my suspicions were correct, my senses strengthened by my meridians shouldn't be mistaken when they tell me it's not my brother occupying the body. It doesn't seem to be soul fusion since he doesn't look at Mother with love. He doesn't seem unfamiliar with us either, more like he's reconfirming memories. Is it inheriting memories and desires then? That should be almost all of the common transmigration tropes and he doesn't look like amnesiac. Well, time to check. '
- Are you alright brother? Butler Yang told me you almost died. Maybe mother's idea was right and you should change to civilian school.
Civilian schools were institutions for people who didn't have any hopes cultivating and would prepare them for common jobs like leading their own business or mechanical repairs.
Long Tian immediately panicked thinking he might lose his chance to go to a cultivation school.
- NO, no, there's no need sister. I even feel like this helped me loose my bottleneck and I might breakthrough soon. I'm sorry for worrying you, Mother, I promise I will watch out for my health from now on.
- Thank you Tian'er. I was so scared you'd never wake up. It's great if you can cultivate further but don't force it, I'm sure you can also live a good life as a civilian.
- Yes mother. I'll be careful. Now that I'm awake do I need another checkup or can we go home?
- I'll call the doctor and if he clears you we'll go home. But even if he declares you healthy no cultivating today young man, you just woke up!
A hint of annoyance flashed on his face.
- Yes mother, I'll take it easy.
After calling a doctor and quick checkup Long Tian was released home. While they were riding home, sitting in the car in silence Yin started thinking:
'These reactions pretty much confirmed it, the person in the body isn't my brother. I just hope his character is alright. Rest in peace, brother, if he honours your legacy I'll accept hin as my brother in this life'
She looked through the window, silently shedding tears for her brother's cruel fate.
'Just wait. No one touches my family and lives. '
She thought, a dragon roar sounding deep within her body.
As the silent atmosphere started turning gloomier and gloomier Yin decided to lighten up by telling everyone about her camp, her mother quickly jumping onto the topic as a smile slowly appeared on her face. The talk continiued until they arrived home, where the whole family, emotionally drained from the happenings of the day, went to their rooms to sleep.
Next morning Yin woke up early. Apparently her emotional state yesterday agitated her Qi, loosening the bottleneck of Qi Gathering Late stage she was facing. A year with Qi Gathering room's help was enough for her to advance to 6th level of Qi Gathering. During the survival camp she managed to reach the peak of the 6th level but the wall blocking her from 7th stage was so tough that she was having doubts she'd be able to advance even with the help of the school faculties. Yin immediately used the chance given to her and started furiously circulating her Qi in attempt to breakthrough. After 10 minutes with a silent *pop* the barier gave in and she advanced to the 7th level. Seeing as she had a lot of time she stabilized her cultivation base then started working on advancing her body tampering to next stage. In Body Purifying stage you worked from innermost to outermost and currently she was getting started on cleansing the impurities in her muscles. There wasn't any magical black slime upon breakthrough. She had to work on her muscles one by one leaking oliy, dirty sweat from her pores in those places.
After coming down for breakfast and learning her brother locked himself in his room attempting to breakthrough, she decided to continue cultivating for the rest of the until Sunday evening where she'd take time off to accompany her morher. Yin was very excited because, as they finished their basic qualifications, next week the school would start introducing them to martial arts.
Don't look down on martial arts in Galactic Exploration Era. With the existance of Qi most weapons could be shrugged off or didn't work on some of the alien races and space creatures, while good quality sword with help of Qi could cut anything. However face to face fights only happened on the highest cultivation levels. In stages common for the Army level soldiers would pilot a hybrid mecha customized for different cultivation levels, that would allow them to fight opponents with a lot stronger bodily constitutions.
