I got reincarnated in the Future but my brother is the MC?!

Lillian Ambers wasn't sure what would happen when she finally cultivated to the second boundary on Mordern Earth. Getting hit by a truck and reincarnated as a dragon in Huaxia Galactic Empire in a futuristic cultivation world definitely wasn't her first guess. Now she strives to reach the peak of the Universe... ... Wait a minute? Brother is a fallen genius? Exiled by the main clan? Father gone missing on a mission? Why does this sound like a plot of a cliché novel? And why does the Universe seem hellbent on killing her brother and letting someone else take over? Note: On Hiatus, pending finish of other projects, as a kinda realized I need some writing experience first to know where to take it. As soon as I know where to go I'll post announcment about a rewrite.

10. Foundational Martial Techniques

Yin didn't know what she expected from middle school martial arts lessons and avilable techniques. But what she got definitely wasn't what she expected.

The foundantional techniques were... plain. They were, as the name suggested, meant to build foundation for learning advanced techniques in the future. Foundational Fist Art and Foundational Movement Art were extemely simple, containing basic methods of utilising whole body for attack and basic evasive movement. Reaching 'Perfect Mastery' stage took her 2 hours. The good news was that when performed together they stimulated her sealed bloodline, awakening 3 innate techniques.

They were Dragon Claw Art, which simulated a slash of dragon's claws with Qi, Star Shattering Fist Art, which simulated a star's gravity utilizing Astral Qi to increase strength of a punch and Astral Slip Art, which was a movement technique utilizing Astral Qi to icrease speed and, on higher levels, create realistic illusions with afterimages altered by Astal Qi.

All three arts had 9 stages which you had to train into perfection before you mastered the art. Each level was more powerful but required higher cultivation base. Until Mortal Transcendence she could only cultivate 1st stage of every art.

As for Foundational Sword Art... It wasn't even a combat art. It was a set of training sword strikes used to get a beginner used to wielding a sword as well as to build a habit of using correct postures and grip. As a swordmaster in her last life, she got back to her training as soon as possible, so she already mastered this art before even knowing about it.

That didn't matter however, as even if they reached Perfect Mastery level they still had to use them during training, unless they had a better art handled down by family. She'd swindle a permission for her innate techniques from her mother, but what to do about sword?...' l know!'

She completely ignored the outside world while analyzing her idea

' I wanted to invent this technique using my space affinity so why not use this opportunity to get started? No one should notice anything weird unless they examine target dummies in detail. Yup, let's do it like that. '

Ever since she learned she had an innate space and time affinities Yin dreamt of recreating the skills of her favourite fantasy character - Vergil from Devil May Cry.

'I don't have Yamato, or even a basic katana, but I should be able to use my affinity to create a basic Double Slash and use this time to train it. Alright, my dreams, here I come! '

- Yin... YIN LONG!

- Uegh? Yessir?

- I see you're not bothering to pay attention and lazing off, so please demonstrate Foundational Techniques for the class. I explained them yesterday so you should have some basic idea.

*whispers*

- Look at her she's about to make a fool out of herself. Genius my ass.

- Yeah, so what if she's stronger and has decent comprehension, we learned it yesterday, what level could she reach? Intermediate? That doesn't excuse her from training.

- If She doesn't fail I'll eat my math homework.

- Deal! I'll record you!

' Now what to do... I know, maybe if I do this I can skip a year? '

She closed her eyes, then started demonstrating her Perfect Mastery of the arts.

In the blink if an eye the murmurs stopped and the whole gym class went completely silent, before an explosion of noise overhelmed everything.

- OMG it's Perfect Mastery. Are we witnessing the birth of a supreme prodigy?

- What supreme prodigy, she's a monster. The current record was 2 months and belongs to Long Tian.

- Long Tian? Isn't that her brother, the infamous trash genius?

- I guess talent runs in the family.

- Come on, swallaw that math homework, you promised!

The teacher's face kept changing between astonishment, elation and anger before he finally shouted:

- SILENCE! If you have time to talk you have time to practice. Miss Long, please come with me to the principal's office.

After waiting for 10 minutes in front of the office while the Principal talked with the teacher, the door of the office opened revealing a smiling Principal.

- Miss Long I see you're quite a prodigy. There are 2 paths you can take. You can take supplementary courses and move up a year, starting your fourth year next year or you can try the prodigy course that, provided you meet certain expectations, would allow you to take your highschool exams this year. Which one would you take?

- What are the requirements for prodigy course?

- You need to get to at least Qi gathering level before highschool exams, Show initial comprehension of one combat art other than the foundational ones and ace all your exams for at least your 3rd year, and idealy your fourth year too.

'Hmmm... Easily done. I only need to study more, which is really simple with my Edeitic Memory spiritual art. I can graduate with my brother to take care of him and monitor his behaviour. '

Her brother's new "inhabitant" quickly warmed up to their family and currently he treated the like her brother used to. The only problem was that he was incredibly arrogant because he now "recovered" his talents and because he reached stage 10 and could cultivate more than the average 18 meridians, so he felt he was a prodigy.

She didn't really have a problem with arrogance but he kept provoking Young Masters and beating them up. He already announced he was going to cripple Han Yao during graduation combat tournament.

Yin calmed her racing thoughts, looked Principal in the eyesband replied:

- Prodigy Course. I'm in.
