Sorrow

The next morning, I had a bad headache, which I went in my bathroom to take some pain medication to relieve it. Instead of making breakfast, I stayed in bed for a while before texting Rose for us to meet up somewhere. She was about to head to her boyfriend's dad's restaurant since he is currently working there. I agreed to meet her there since I didn't' have anything to do, besides the job interview and discuss the bad news. It was already getting late, so I had quickly got ready for my job interview. I didn't have time to eat anything, which I wasn't hungry in the first place. As I arrived at the music store, my headache was already gone which was good since I didn't look well. I didn't want the employer to notice, or they would make me have to put this off. Which I couldn't afford to since I had to start making money to pay my bills and put food on the table. In the music store, it was nice and big with variety of genres of music. They had music for everyone's taste since I see different types of people shopping around. It was nice, since it was a completely different scenery than I had imagine. I thought to myself no wonder Rose has been trying to get me to work here and she loves it here. I felt stubborn for not taking up on her offer a lot sooner than later.

I went up to the checkout counter, as there was a girl with pink long straight hair standing there. I walked over to her and asked her about my application that I had Rose send over for me. She gave me a nod and went into the back for some reason, that's when her boss came from behind and called me back. He ushered me to sit in one of the cozy chairs in front of his desk as he tried to locate my application. A few minutes later, he sat down and glanced at my application as I sat there in silence.

"I heard you're a good friend of one of my loyal employee's?" he said

"Um... yeah!" I said glancing down

"Are you nervous?" he asked

"Yeah." I replied

"May I ask why?" he asked in return

"Because if I don't get this job, I might be in a pickle considering that I need money to pay my rent and have food to put on the table." I spoke

"I see!" he said glancing back down at my application

"Actually, that is something you won't have to worry about since you're hired." he said smiling

"Really! Why?" I asked stunned

"Well, Rose has been speaking highly of you and from looking at your application you look like an excellent choice. Besides, we need more employees here since we've been getting a lot of business. This is the only music store here in Seoul with many varieties of genres and music selections. I'll have one of our good employees train you and show you around the store. Furthermore, you might need to learn more about different types of music as well." he explained

"Thank you, sir!" I said smiling

"Don't call me, sir, but Mr. Kim." he said

"Okay, Mr. Kim" I said

After my interview, he ushered me to the front desk which had the same girl standing there. However, this time she was checkout someone at the front desk while we waited for her to finish. After, Mr. Kim gladly introduced me to her since she would be the one to train me instead of Rose. I was really nervous meeting her because she didn't seem all to friendly, I already have a hard time making friends. However, she did smile at me while Mr. Kim was introducing me to her and mentioning that I'm Rose's friend. I was quite uncomfortable with him mentioning that Me and Rose were friends. On the other hand, I tried to not make a big deal out of it since Rose was the one who recommended me.

After Mr. Kim finally left, she smiled at me saying that tomorrow we would begin the training. Since today was pretty busy and it would be difficult for her to train me. I nodded at her in agreement since I had to meet up with Rose and Do Yoon. After I left, I was really happy that I landed the job, so I had nothing else to worry about. At least that was what I thought until I had remembered that I had to talk to Rose about Jo Woon. As I got to Do Yoon's father's restaurant, I saw that Rose had made it at the same time I did. I guess that she had something else to do, so she made a detour. Me and Rose walked in while Do Yoon was getting our table ready. It was not that busy since it was on a weekend. I couldn't wait since I heard Do Yoon's father food is really delicious which is why the restaurant has so many good reviews. The restaurant was a Korean BBQ place, yet it had a luxurious way about it since it was really bright. The tables were made of light wood, the seats were comfortable and made out of good material as well as the accents on the table. The light fixtures were also not cheap as well.

The table that Do Yoon sat us at had a little fire pit in the center of the table. I quickly guessed that Rose wanted some Korean BBQ since she had picked this table prior. Which is why Do Yoon knew to sit us here not only because it had a nice view but because she wanted Korean BBQ. When Do Yoon gave us the menu, I thought that he was going to sit with us and eat. However, he had to help his father with assisting the restaurant. I ordered a water since this was going to be a long conversation and a draining one. I waited until the food and drink was here before I dropped the bomb on her. I didn't know how to start up the conversation, so I just decided to just go for it.

"Rose, I've something to tell you." I said nervously

"What is it?" she said chewing on her food

"I think you may have been right." I replied

"About what?" she stared back

"About... Jo Woon." I said glancing away

"What did Jo Woo do?'' she said

"Well, He is cheating on me and thinking of breaking up with me." I announced

"WHAT!?" she yelled

"Rose, be quiet. We are literally in public in a restaurant, and I don't need everyone to hear my business." I said

"Sorry, but like...How do you know this? Did someone tell you this or he told you this himself?" she asked

"Well, A-yeong did. She met me at the local coffee shop that most student's go to for studying and revealed to me that they have been dating for a while now. And she even revealed that he is going to break up with me but haven't thought about the timing." I explained

"What? Them two?" she said shocked

"Yeah, for a moment, I thought she was just playing me. However, when she explained it further, she was definitely not playing nor joking around." I said

"Wow, this is very serious. How do you feel though?" she asked

"Honestly, of course, I'm hurt not because he's choosing to break up with me, yet he didn't have the courage to discuss this with me." I replied

"I could only imagine how you felt or was going through the other day." she said

"Don't worry, I just had to run errands, but I would lie if I said that I wasn't sad. It kept on living rent free in my mind for hours." I responded

"What do you think caused him to feel like this? Because, when we were at the beach you said that you guys were doing pretty good." she said

"I don't know, but I would guess the time that we were discussing the talent show." I replied

"What about it?" she asked confused

"He heard the part about what you said about him probably not going to be scouted to be a K-pop idol. So, he might feel as if because you're my friend I agree with you. Moreover, I don't support his dream of making it in the industry." I explained

"Oh, CRAP! she said stunned

"I didn't mean to say that I was just kidding. Besides, getting into the industry is difficult and I don't know if he would want to put himself through that. What I said was coming from more of a place of concern." she explained

"Don't worry, I always felt this way. Which is why I wanted to distance myself away from him since he was already pushing me away." I replied reassuringly

"I'm just really shock that he is messing with A-yeong, like what could they have in common. She is a pretty, rich, and snobby girl. You couldn't pay her a million won to be humbled because she is already rich and have everything." she said

"To be honest, I don't really want to talk about it. Because it seems like she could do a better job than I as a girlfriend. Since he confined in her about our issues instead of talking to me about as a normal couple should do." I said

"I understand that, but I just want to know how she felt about taking another woman's man?" she asked

"Well, she stood on her stans on the fact that she didn't take him away from me. Considering that he wanted to break up with me and he told her that he would. However, she didn't want to date him since he wasn't officially single. However, she is hanging out with him as if they're together instead of not making it obvious." I replied

"Anyways, this is getting to be too much, so let's talk about something different." she said

"I agree! This is such a headache." I said

"Anything else happened recently." she asked

"Oh! Yeah! The weirdest thing happened the other day, I went to the local convenient store near my house, and I forgot my wallet, so I couldn't purchase my items. Yet, this man came and bought my items for me. I tried to thank him, but he left really quick, and I couldn't see him since he was wearing all black plus a face mask. So, I couldn't recognize him if he lived in the same neighborhood." I explained

"Who, sounds interesting." she said smiling

"I don't know, if I'd say that. But it was rather strange since I just wanted to thank him, but he left so quick." I said

"He might be another love interest like in those K-dramas.'' she said teasing

"Don't say that!" I said pouting

"Let me guess, you're still in love with Jo Woon?" she asked

"Of course! We have been together for years ever since freshman year." I replied

"If you say so!" she said continuing to eat her food

After meeting up with Rose, it felt so much better to hear her thoughts on the situation. However, a part of me felt like she really didn't like Jo Woon more than I thought. She put up with him because I liked him, she probably saw something in him that I didn't. On the other hand, I couldn't blame her since I was pretty naive, and I've been busy wrap up in other things. I have been so busy with my father's death, my mother's health, and school. I've neglected Jo Woon's feelings and our relationship since I thought that we were okay and doing fine. Now, I have come to realize that he has been with another girl, and it happened to be A-yeong of all people. It was really devastating, but I would rather not make a big deal out of it.

As I made it home, I put the leftover food in the fridge for another day. I was really drained since I had a long day. Yet, I knew that tomorrow would be another long day since I have school and work. I took off my clothes to put on my pajamas and get ready for bed. Before going to bed, I put the Tv on since it was really quiet with not having my mother around. It was hard not having her here because she would comfort me in a time like this. While watching Tv, I curled into a small ball like position under the sheet as tears fell from my cheeks. My heartache knowing that Jo Woon wasn't here with me like he always was. I knew that my world or what was my world was starting to shift and it was difficult now losing two important people in my life.
