Eric looked at Elise and sighed. He hadn't paid any attention previously, but now he could see the resemblance of her in Elise.
"So, she's her child?"
Ruby nodded. "And I would be happy if you don't tell that to anyone. It's better if their identity is hidden, well, at least how much is hidden till now."
"Don't worry, I'm not someone who betrays my comrade," Eric smiled. "Still, I'm surprised that they didn't pick her up till now."
Lex scoffed upon hearing that. Of course, they had tried, but it wasn't so easy to bring them in. Well, Lex knew that if his grandfather really wanted to force it, he wouldn't have been able to resist him. But fortunately, he didn't.
"Anyways, do tell me what happened the first time?" Amber asked.
"They sent those people because our parents have apparently run off somewhere," Lex shrugged. "They took advantage of that and tried to kidnap Ely the same night they disappeared."
