How do you do, Sire?

Dying because of sleeplessness and hunger is such an embarrassing way of leaving the world. I cannot even imagine how ashamed my family is while holding off my memorial. However, I was lucky enough to get transmigrated to a world I have been hoping for. But out of all the cliches that are happening in my life, I ended up possessing the body of a villainess. Misunderstandings could kill

"So..." I clapped. "It is only us now in this room. Can you now sing? Please?" I asked politely. I am really determined to hear her sing.

I told myself last time that when I woke up, the person who was constantly singing to me would be the first person to receive my heartfelt thanks, as she was the one who entertains my boring coma life. She brought me joy and hope. Though she was not literally talking to me, she was the only one who was able to tell me words in the form of her songs.

She might have realized that there is no way I would let her go without doing what I asked. So, she ended up agreeing. I smiled and waited for her to sing.

"T-this poor soul... should d-die and bend... for you are my g-greatest owner... I owe my l-life, to you..." she sang in between sobs.

I winced. What is this morbid song? Anyways, I was right! She was indeed her. The singing lady!

But I was surprised when she suddenly slumped on the floor and bowed to me, face down, with all her might. It was as if she met her doom.

"Y-you have told me last time, my lady, that I should never l-let you hear such an embarrassing v-voice again. I would accept any p-punishment you w-would give me, my lady."

"What? I never said anything like that." I bend and picked her hands, assisting her to stand up. I don't know what's making her so afraid of me. "And would you please... stop calling me, MY LADY?"

Yeah, that's it. It's not like we're in medieval times.

"How could I do that, my lady!" she protested. But she ended up getting up anyway.

I looked at her intently. I'm so guilty, I felt like I bullied her into doing something she doesn't want to. But I'm not regretting it.

"What is your name?" I gently asked.

"M-maya, my lady." she replied.

"You have a nice name."

I realized that smiling at her isn't good. As every time I smiled whenever I said something, her face grew paler as if she saw a devil in me.

"You know, Maya, I would really like to thank you. Though you might not know, those times that I was asleep, I was actually conscious." As much as possible I wanted to let her know how much sincere I am, so she would stop trembling in front of me. It's so bothersome. I won't eat her, you know!

"You were always there to accompany me during my lone time. You made me smile each day because of your songs. Don't you know that?" I continued.

"I n-never thought of that, my lady," she replied. Shy. I laughed.

It seems like she wouldn't stop calling me "My lady", so I'd just ignore it. I held her hands tightly and said my thanks once again.

She was still trembling, but at least she was now looking at me. I can also see that apart from fear, she's shocked and confused at the same time.

"I d-don't know, my lady. B-but I'm happy..."

"Good!" I then released her hands and walked slowly to the bed to sit. Then, I started to look around. It was only at that time that I became aware of my surroundings. A huge room, with elegant furniture and details. A bed so big at least three people could lay. There are two big white sofas facing each other on the far right side of the room, and in between lies a classic white mini table. In the middle of the room is the great oak door. That's the main door I believe because that's where the other maids came in and came out earlier. On the left side of the bed, there's a huge white book shelf full of books. And past that would be two other entrances. I believe the other entrance would be for the comfort room and the other one for the closet because in front of that entrance is a full-length mirror. I'm just assuming, but by the looks of it, it's like a noble lady's room. I'm quite familiar because I was an aspiring writer who had researched so much so I could pull the settings in my stories. Stories I was never able to finish.
