At one end of the room, a set of chairs with gold velvet cushions. Floor-to-ceiling patterned curtains in bronze and brown encircled small windows that provided the sensation of height since the view was of sky and clouds. A rich multicolored design covered the walls, with lines, dots, stars, and swirls almost too much for the eye to take in at once.
The extravagant decorations and furniture were not of concern to Hope. Those were everywhere throughout the Golden Draconian Palace. She was solely concerned with the man who laid on the bed. She moved closer to him, her gaze fixed on his pale skin and the beautiful shape of his lips.
Hope's face became solemn as his long eyelashes fluttered, and Drake gently opened his eyes. His strategy kept them apart for several weeks, and he nearly died as a result. She had every reason to be enraged. But when their gazes locked, she felt the anger melt away.
