After heading down the stairs of this two-story high building, the orphanage he is in. When Gunnar arrived at the ground floor, he noticed a person in the kitchen.
Gunnar wasn't shocked hearing noises from the kitchen, as he already knew who is there, and that person was the other person that also as important to Gunnar, as Zella and Zell are to him, in this second life of his.
Wanda Wirth is the name of the caretaker of this orphanage. And an old woman, that more like a grandmother to the people in this orphanage. Gunnar arrived at the kitchen, but hidden himself, as he looked at the kind looking old woman, that most likely preparing food for Gunnar and the others' breakfast.
After few seconds of watching the old woman. The little boy headed outside without alarming anyone. Gunnar even shut the door silently not to let anyone knew, a 6-year-old kid has left the building.
It not like Miss Wirth doesn't let anyone outside. In fact, she often forced Gunnar and the others outside to the backyard, that if the weather is nice. If the weather wasn't, she forces them back in. She is a very caring old woman, that cares for the wellbeing of Gunnar and the others.
After all, Wanda Wirth is the only one in this world, that could protect and look after Gunnar and the others.
Upon leaving the orphanage's main building. Gunnar than headed to the gates, but only to discover them being locked.
'What an idiot I am… of course it's lock. There goes my plan testing out my powers… looks like I have no choice to jump over the fencing… wait? Since when I can jump that high?'
Gunnar became shocked, with this sudden thought came to him. He has no clue why, but he felt he is somewhat capable of jumping over the 2m high fencing or the 2.2m high gate before him.
It no wonder why Gunnar become shocked and confused. He is no fool, to not know, that even a normal human adult, never mind a kid that only six years old like him. Cannot jump that high.
Maybe a Low-Class being could do that without any problem. However, Gunnar's strength not even's that of an adult, never mind of being Low-Class, who are beings that capable of overwhelmingly dozens of adults like they are children.
Shaking his head, Gunnar sighed, as he no clue why he felt he could do it, until he remembered something. He remembered the words of that abyssal ROB's words.
'I will know by instincts…? Don't tell me… by instincts if I feel like I can do it… then I can?' All honestly, Gunnar hasn't fully got on what it meant by relying on his instincts. However, he feels he finally got a clue how to use his powers, that dwelled in the deepest roots of his soul.
Which is why, Gunnar who was facing the backyard's gate, rushed towards the wall, facing the forest, where he wanted to go.
"How do… I jump that high…?" Gunnar cannot help to ask himself this when he arrived at the tall 2m high fencing. He has no clue how to jump that high. However, he figured he might as well try it, and see how high he could go.
But the moment Gunnar decided to jump anyway. Was the moment, something deep inside his soul formed a link between itself, and Gunnar's heart. When it did, some kind of entity or source of power spread from his heart, to the whole of his legs.
When Gunnar felt this entity or source of power moving inside him. He was startled, but he cannot do anything, because he has already leaped into the air with a monstrous high jump, that a six-year-old kid shouldn't be capable of!
Gunnar's sea blue eyes widen in shock, seeing he had zoomed past the metal fencing before him, and leaped 3m high in the air. And at the same time, his mind also noticed whatever this source of power is, has become weaker, or more like reduced the moment he strengthens his legs to jump over the metal fencing.
However, when Gunnar noticed this, he also noticed something else, as something cold hit his spine upon realising something very important in his plan. Even if he capable of jumping that high… is he also capable of landing safety?
The moment Gunnar realised this, it was too late, his oceanic blue eyes widen in both pure fear and shock, as he could only watch helplessly as he pasts over the metal fencing, and crashed onto the other side of the fencing, which was his goal to begin with.
Upon crashing onto the ground, from a 3m high freefall, Gunnar who lay on the ground lifeless, felt an overwhelming pain assaulted him. Gunnar could even taste iron in his mouth, knowing it is his own blood what he could taste.
And to make the matter worse, his right leg, that took the most force, when he landed from 3m high, is broken, and shattered from within his leg. And to make it all better, blood leak from seen leaking from his clothing, that some places in his clothing has been ripped.
It is not that shocking if one think about it. Why Gunnar became like this. To be flank, it is amazing to see Gunnar still alive, even if he is incapable of yelling or crying for help.
One had to remember; Gunnar is just a kid of six years old. Meaning he not even half as big as a fully grown adult. After all, what Gunnar currently experiencing, is like a male adult falling from the height of 6m high. They be lucky if they just had broken bones falling from that height.
Counting on how serious his wounds are, if Gunnar Klinger doesn't seek help right this moment, he's going to die.
Realising his foolishness, Gunnar cursed at himself, and also bitterly laughed in his mind. His mental age is already that of 27 years old, since he died when he was 21 years old in his past life.
All this time, since reawakening his past memories, and his powers. He was too focused on this strange power that he has. And ironically the very same power he was over the moon, to find its usages, will now be the cause of his second life's death.
'Hahaha… what is this? Why did I forget something so simple…? So… this is how my second life will end, to end the same day I reawakened huh… I was too excited… is it because I been in the Abyss that long? Or… because it been a very long time, I could move my own body?'
Gunnar thought, as he recalled his past life, not his life within the Abyss. But before he entered the Abyss itself.
Gunnar in his past life, one can say he has it all, but at the same time. He has nothing. He is born in a rich and powerful family; one might think Gunnar has it all. But it wasn't true, because from birth, Gunnar was born very ill with an unknown illness that slowly killing Gunnar.
At the age of ten years old, he lost all feelings in his legs, taking his ability to walk.
When he was 14 years old, his begin to lost his senses one by one. First was taste, then touch, before smell, then sight, before hearing in the end.
And the time Gunnar reached 21 years old, not only the rest of his body lost the ability to move. Even his heart finally stopped beating, ending his life.
Because Gunnar spent most of his life in his bedroom, tied to machines. One of the things he loved to do, was to read books. It didn't matter to Gunnar what kind of book it was, and by chance, he read his first Light Novel.
This was the origin of how Gunnar become an anime nerd, forming his otaku soul, as he become more and more interested in reading other such books. And when he was looking for more volumes of that Light Novel. Not only he found the other volumes, but he also found out this Light Novel also made into a cartoon, but strangely he wasn't called a cartoon but an anime instead.
Curiosity took over Gunnar, only to discovered the world of anime culture. He watched the anime, even read the manga, if that wasn't enough, he went to other animes and light novels, as well manga besides the one he was interested in.
And like that, Gunnar spent the rest of his remaining years of reading, watching, as well listening to anime culture. Shame his eyesight was taken away from him before he could watch the latest anime before his death. Or the fact, he has to turned to audio books in the end.
This might be the sole reason, when Gunnar Klinger was inside the Abyss, he could easily forget the painful memories of his past.
In fact, Gunnar has no idea, if he died alone or not. He lost the ability to sense others in the end. All he knew his body, his illness he had from birth, made his physical body a prison. One might wonder how his parents thought, as they watch Gunnar past away.
It no wonder, Gunnar could easily forget his past, and still held onto his knowledge of anime after all those years.
'I am going to waste this life as well…?' Gunnar asked himself this, while he tasting his blood inside his mouth. Honestly this was the first thing Gunnar tasted in nearly 10 years, which happened to be his own blood.
Of course, he remembers the taste of all kinds of food he had before he reawakened his past life memories. But to think the first thing he will taste after reawakening his memories, will be his own blood. This somehow made Gunnar want to laugh, but it too painful to laugh at this moment.
'I can't… I don't want to die… Zella and Zell… will be all alone… there is no one besides Miss Wirth for them…' Desire began to grow within Gunnar's heart, when his longing to life burn within his soul.
'N-Not like this! I refused to die like this…! I want to see them… I am in the world of DxD! Parallel or not! This is all otakus out there dream about…! And I am going to ruined… by dying right away… how miserable I am? What rights do I have to call myself an otaku or nerd… if I am going to die… before I met any of the main characters in this world!?'
The moment as Gunnar's otaku soul yelled inside his heart. Was the moment his desires responded with the entity or power source dwelling in the deepest parts of his soul. Due to using a third of it when jumping in the air, plus causing his near-death state.
The remaining of whatever this source of power is. Began to quickly spread throughout his body, from his heart. And when this source of entity or power spread, so did his body begin to rapidly heal.
His right leg, that is shattered and broken, mended itself, like he never broken it in the first place. Even his ribcage, that he didn't notice, that were broken as well, fixed itself.
The cuts over his body, when he crashed landed, also closed themselves, healing everything done to Gunnar's body. Gunnar who was in the state of extreme pain. Soon realised the pain lessen and his body begin to heal at a monstrous pace.
He was shocked to see this power that dwelled within his soul, could even heal his body, never mind strengthen it.
But the other thing that Gunnar also notices, besides his body is now fully healed. That this energy that dwelled within his soul, that has linked with his heart. Is nearly exhausted, when the remaining two thirds healed his body.
When Gunnar saw this, he became worried. He still has no clue how this entity or power within him works. He doesn't know if it recovers naturally or needs to be feed something to recover.
But that panic was unnecessary, after a minute or so, the entity or power source within his body regrow back in size over time.
'It's like Mana… or was it Magic or Magic Power in this world for humans? It similar to the Demonic Power that Devils has. I know this power of mine is similar, but also at the same time, not the same as theirs… in the first place, can I form spells with this power?'
'Not to mention it also like Holy Power as well, since I can heal myself… but that ROB, which this power originally came from… don't seems like an Angel like being to me…'
Gunnar suddenly thought and imagined that creepy looking gigantic eyeball has dozens upon dozens white bird wings behind it… strangely enough, like Gunnar thought, it doesn't suit its menacing sinister self at all.
'Well, I can heal and strengthen myself… but is that all? I got a gut feeling it isn't… but since it is like Mana or Magic Power whatever it is called, and since he came from that ROB, I might as well call this, Abyssal Power?'
Just like that, Gunnar decided to call this power or whatever this thing is, as Abyssal Power, since it came from the Abyss itself.
When Gunnar thought of the name of his power, Abyssal Power, since it very similar to Magic Power and Demonic Power, as well Holy Power since he could heal himself with it. Gunnar then looked at the sun in the sky.
It wouldn't be long before the others in the orphanage to woke up. Zell most likely already downstairs looking for him. Realising his mistake, Gunnar thought of apologizing to Zell when he returned back later. After all, Gunnar did tell his little brother like existence, Zell, that he will return after he went to the toilet.
But who will expect, halfway he didn't have to go? And shamedly… his Otaku side took over Gunnar, blinding Gunnar's reasoning to test his powers out right away. And completely forgotten what he told Zell.
'Is it because of Abyssal Power?' Gunnar thought to himself, having a gut feeling, the reason he didn't had to go to the toilet has to do with this strange power of his.
After few moments seeing that he is fine, besides his slightly bloody and ripped clothes. Gunnar than headed deeper into the forest, to see what else this Abyssal Power could do.
