Old Friends(2)

Natalie Williams, Giselle Smith, William Brown, Benedict Wilson, Elliot Powell were the best friends of Sophie Watson. These gentlemen and ladies were waiting for Sophie to come to them. They were upset as Sophie did not show herself for such a long time.

'Don't you owe us an explanation?', Giselle asked.

'Honestly Soph, you could have died. If we hadn't asked Ed to keep tabs on you, do you think you would be alive? What were you thinking?', William added.

'Let her breathe man!', Benedict said.

'Come here, and sit down. We need to talk.', Elliot said.

Natalie got up and brought Sophie to the nearest couch and both of them sat down.

'Tell us what happened. You know we were worried very much. We all will take revenge on your behalf.'

'No', Sophie gritted her teeth. 'I can take revenge on my own. I shall take care of those scumbags. '

'We do not agree. You almost lost your life.', Elliot was almost bursting with anger.

'Guys, let's hear her out first. Sophie, continue.', Natalie said.

'Thanks, Nat. Guys, I know that I almost lost my life and you guys are very much worried about me. But please hear me out carefully. I had miscalculated about their intentions. I had no idea that they would be so vicious! I had my guard down and thanks to all of you and Ed that I'm alive now. Thanks guys.'

'Seriously Soph? You are saying thanks to us? You are being formal? Do you fu**ing know that we were scared out of our lives that you could have lost your life? And upon returning all you have to say is thanks? Fu**ing thanks you say? Do you take all of us as a joke?', Benedict lost his temper.

A tear dropped from Sophie's eyes. Sophie bowed her head and could not control her tears anymore.

'Shh, shh, don't cry my dear. You know that we can't see you crying. Come on, please don't cry. It's okay. We are here.', Natalie said softly rubbing her back.

'You don't have to talk about it. When you are ready, we shall hear from you. Please don't cry.', Elliot consoled.

'I saw David today. In the shopping mall. I was totally afraid. Afraid to face all of that again. I don't want to....You have no idea what they did to me. I think it's time for me to shift here. Also, I want to introduce Max and Jose to you all. They have been loyal to me in my most darkest times. I think, without them, I wouldn't have recovered so fast. ', Sophie said while hiccuping.

'Yup, let's talk about all the arrangement tomorrow. Get some rest. You have gone through some emotional upheaval today. Nat, take Soph upstairs.'

'Yup. Come Soph, let's get you to bed now.' Natalie took Sophie upstairs. Elliot also came with a glass of warm milk for her. 'Drink this before you sleep.'

'Uh. No, not again.' Sophie made a cute pout.

Elliot almost burst out laughing, but controlled himself and looked sternly towards her. Under his glare, Sophie drank the glass full of milk. 'Look, done. Don't look at me like that.'

'He he. Okay sleep princess.'

'I'm not a baby. Don't call me that.'

Elliot and Natalie shook their heads together and after making sure that she was sound asleep did they leave.

When they came downstairs, they found the others waiting for them.

'What do you reckon, should we tell her about that matter?', William whispered.

'I guess no.', said Ben.

'I think we should tell her. She has gone through a lot. She can handle this. If she learns about it later, she might be angry. Better now than never.', Giselle said.

'I agree with Giselle.', Natalie and Elliot said together.

'Let's wait for Ed. When he comes, let's take this decision. Till then, nobody is to tell her about this matter. Is that clear?'

'Yes.' They all chanted together.

'That's great then. Then all of you head back to your own bedrooms to take rest too. We have a lot to do tomorrow.'

They all dispersed to their own rooms, except Giselle. Giselle made way to Sophie's room.

'Sorry, Soph. Whatever we are doing is for your own good. Please don't be angry at us. We couldn't do anything. Please forgive us when you get to know the whole truth.' Giselle whispered while stroking Sophie's hair lovingly.
