I’M BORN TO PROTECT HER(1)

They were yet to regain their senses, when they found that Sophie had already gotten up from her seat. Then, she headed towards her bedroom.

They sat there for a while pondering over the matter themselves. They did not know what to do. Every time, Sophie decides something, there is no one who could change her mind. They knew the wrong thing. Only one person could change her mind, could influence her thoughts and actions, but that person is nowhere to be found.

"So, what to do now?", Natalie questioned C after Sophie went upstairs.

"We should go with the flow.", he replied without any hesitation.

"What do you mean?"

"You know how she is. It is impossible to change her mind. But did you not detect her suspicious behavior?"

"Now that you have mentioned it, I feel something is strange about the way she acted earlier."

C gave her a thumbs up and proceeded to explain, "She was not shocked, when we informed her about the matter, which means, that she already knew it previously.

"That is absurd, boy.", Grandpa Smith was not convinced.

"Do you know how much she loves him? No… But I know. Although, I can't tell you, but take my words as evidence. She loves him dearly. So, she would not be able to see that bitch hurting him. But she did not make any move. She even, asked us to prepare gifts for them, without even getting invited. Now, do you understand?"

"No.", they answered in unison.

"Soph has always been revengeful. She might be going there to take revenge. But she won't interfere in their relationship."

"But what use will that be?"

"I'm not Sophie. I can only predict the logic behind her decisions, but I can't say what she is going to do exactly."

"She is different from others because she faced a lot of difficulties while growing up."

"How do you know?"

"I'm born to protect her."

Even the Grandpas were amazed at the sentence. Even Ruby felt a little jealous, but stayed silent. She would ask him later. Now is not the right time.

Suddenly, Grandpa Bill said, "Boy, you shouldn't have said that."

"I know."

Everyone looked at Grandpa Bill, their curiosity piqued.

But, he merely sighed and said in a grave tone, "Forget it. It's a long story, and it's better to not know it right now."

Grandpa Tan was not convinced, and was going to say something more, when Grandpa Smith shook his head.

C stood up and asked Ruby, "I'm going to the bedroom. Are you coming with me?"

Ruby blushed at his ambiguous words. Nevertheless, she stood up and went towards him. She needed to question him regarding his earlier words.

Once they entered his bedroom, he sat down on the bed and pulled Ruby towards him. With one tug, Ruby fell on his thighs and sat down on his lap facing him. They were facing each other.

Ruby suddenly pulled him by his collar, their faces inches apart. She dived for a deep passionate kiss which lasted for a long time. When they were breathless, they broke apart. Ruby questioned him, "Don't you have anything to explain to me?"

"Are you jealous?", he teased.

"What nonsense is this?"

"Well, if you admit that you are jealous then I shall explain, otherwise, let it be."

"You!!!", she stomped her foot in anger.

"What? Admit it…."

"No, I'm not jealous at all. Who is jealous?"

Their playful banter went on for a long time, before a playful wicked voice came from the doorway.

"Having fun?"
