Chapter 1SAVE ME

A thin, fair-skinned girl was standing by the side of the road, her legs quivering, her nose bleeding, and her hair disheveled and untidy. She had a bleeding abdomen that she was cradling.

"Pick the damn call," she muttered under her breath as she kept calling someone but it was disconnecting, She stood on the street and began to wave haltingly, suddenly, a motorcycle nearly collided with her as it passed by. Her phone was crushed by the bike as she accidentally dropped it out of fright, which caused her to flinch back in pain and panic.

She shouted, "No, it's not happening!"

That phone represented her last-ditch effort to contact Eric. Why does life have to be so unfair to her?

What will she do in the big city?

"But you are still alive,"

A thought ran to the optimistic side of her head. Yes, she should not give up now. If she had known, she would not have gotten out of that truck. But the driver had stopped, and she overheard him saying he would take a nap and continue the journey once he woke up. When will he wake up? She wondered.

She was bleeding badly and needed assistance, so she sneaked out of the back of the truck, she initially entered without the driver noticing and began her journey to live.

She kept waving her hands with all her might, but this time on the side of the road, she'd learned her lesson.

Moving cars drove down the road, pretending not to notice the frail girl waving.

Coast City was known for its high rate of crimes, one of that crimes was called "Highway robbery". The robbers will lure you in by pretending to be in pain and seeking help; once you stop, they will bounce on you. So maybe that's why they didn't help the weak girl waving.

Then an old truck passed by, but this time it stopped. The girl's eyes were becoming dimmer and hazy, and her leg was falling against her will. She pounded her lower lips, then her vision suddenly became void and dark

In the busy town, In a small, local but busy restaurant. Voices were heard from every angle of the restaurant.

"Dina, A bottle of beer and Chicken stew," A customer ordered.

"Coming!" A girl shouted back.

"I haven't seen my order," Another one said.

(BEHIND THE COUNTER)

"Go get those tomatoes from Raymond's store now, Samuel!" An old, elegant woman in her prime ordered.

A tall, well-built, brown-skinned guy eating an apple, came out of the kitchen, walked towards the old woman and kissed her forehead, and said "Grandma why don't we leave it to tomorrow, You shouldn't stress yourself over those tomatoes, seeing that you look elegant today," He teased.

Giggles were heard in the room, and the customers who were eating were amused.

"Oh, you!" Grandma's cheeks were bright red, it was visible even with the wrinkles.

"No, go get it this night, I won't be fooled by your words," She insisted.

"But you were flattered, look at your rosy cheeks," He smirked saying.

"Go on, go get it,"

"Dinah, bring the receipt," She said to the girl serving customers.

"All right, Mrs. Tan, I'll go," he said quietly.

He put his earphones on as he entered his truck and drove out.

As he reached a sharp corner while humming the song he was listening to, he abruptly stopped. He noticed a girl waving weakly.

"I shouldn't be bothered right? Could she be acting?" He reasoned.

Then he saw her fall and thought to himself,

"Well, I guess I'll have to take the risk," He got out of his truck and tapped her numerous times, "Lady, wake up," He opened her eyes and checked her pulse, she was still breathing but slowly, "Shit!" He cursed and quickly carried her to the truck. He kept on staring at her as he drove back to the restaurant. As he got to the restaurant, he rushed inside and dragged Grandma out.

"Come see, I found a girl," he said as they walked outside.

"What do you mean? What happened to her?" She inquired, wide-eyed at Samuel,

"Follow me, she's in the truck," Samuel said as he opened the car door.

As they were talking, the girl's eyes widened slightly.

"Samson?" she mumbled.

A new surge of strength rushed through her body, and she kicked the guy who had opened the door, jumped out of the car, and began to run.

The two were taken aback by the way the almost-dead girl kicked him and simply ran out.

"Did you keep anything in the truck, Money?" Grandma hurriedly asked.

"No, Grandma, I didn't."

"Oh dear," Grandma exclaimed, flashing her torchlight to the ground, as Samuel groaned in pain.

"What?" Samuel asked and then narrowed his gaze to the ground, bent down, and touched the liquid on the ground, It was blood, real blood!

"We have to look for her, Samuel, I know you don't believe her, but maybe she isn't pretending, she didn't carry anything from the truck, right?" Grandma panicked seeing the blood on Samuel's hand.

But Samuel wasn't paying attention; he dashed to the car and started the engine.

"No, no, I'm going on the adventure with you," Grandma said as she jumped into the car.

Samuel stated quietly, "She didn't steal anything."

"Then we have to look for her," Grandma said.

_______

"How did Samson find me here?" She wondered aloud.

She would rather die than be caught by him. She continued walking down the street.

"Lady!" They called out.

She stopped as she heard them shouting.

How did they get here so quickly?

She limped near a building where there were cars, and she hid under one of them.

Raindrops were falling from the sky, and it was about to rain.

"Grandma, you need to go back to the truck," he said, concerned.

"Find her, please," Grandma said as she turned back and held Samuel's hand firmly.

"I will,"

Samuel kept flashing his torchlight to the ground, traces of her blood had led him to her, but now that it was raining, he needed to find her quickly.

"Lady! Lady!" he continued shouting.

He then tracked her blood traces to a parking lot, phew! She was underneath a black car. He knelt and peered beneath the car.

"Lady, please come out, I won't hurt you, you're in a lot of pain and it's raining, let me help you," he begged.

"Lady?" He called out again, this time looking under the car.

She'd blacked out.

He then gently drew her out to the truck and quickly carried her to the hospital.

_____________

Her pale blue hazy eyes opened. She tried to figure out where she was, but that smell! The smell of a hospital! She disliked the smell. Her gaze was drawn to an elderly woman sleeping on a couch beside the bed she was in.

Before she could think of anything, She saw a brown-skinned guy with perfectly matching brown hair,

"Finally you are awake," His alluring deep voice woke her from her thoughts.

"Who are you?" She managed to ask while attempting to sit up, she groaned breathlessly as she held her tummy, The guy was already leaving the room before she could look up; she wanted to say something, but her voice failed her.

"It appears like the anesthetic has worn off," a fair lady wearing white overalls said as she entered the ward with the guy that left earlier.

"You do well to lie down, dear," she added quickly.

The girl lay down after staring at the two people in front of her. The woman then checked her heartbeat with her stethoscope.

"Your heartbeat is now normal, and this is Samuel and his grandmother, who saved you. You've been sleeping for two days and it's a miracle you're awake; I must say you're quite the fighter, so what's your name, dear? Do you remember what happened to you?" She inquired calmly.

"No," The girl responded sharply.

Doctor Kim sighed "Rest dear, I will call the nurse to check on you," Then she turned to Mrs. Tan, and Samuel "Please come with me," She ushered them out of the ward.

"My name is Fiona, Fiona." The girl spoke out.

Say hello to Sonia and Bryan. Sonia's heart stopped beating for a second, and then different thoughts started flying right through her head at that same time. Bryan Hank? Her celebrity crush was kneeling right in front of her and asking her to be his wife? Was he mistaking her for someone? Was it possible this was a skit, or maybe this was like one of those celebrity pranks, and there were cameras around, waiting to capture her make a fool of herself? Or perhaps she was dreaming? Sonia wondered as she looked around them, but all she saw were curious onlookers. "Please! Be my wife and make me the happiest man on Earth," He said in a very loud voice that caught the attention of everyone. Her editor who she had been waiting on for over an hour because he was trying to sign a deal with a movie producer who was interested in one of her stories, showed up at that moment, "Sonia, you know Bryan Hank?" Her editor asked in genuine surprise as he watched the scene before him. It seemed like an hour had passed since Bryan went on his knees, but it had only been a minute. Bryan knew no lady would be crazy enough to accept such a crazy proposal, and even if any were, paying her off and calling off the whole thing would be easy since all he wanted was the scandal that could come from this. The headlines were either going to be about his rejected Marriage proposal or his supposed engagement, which would be enough to let Sophia off the hook. "Yes!" Sonia said as she bobbed her head excitedly and extended her finger for him to wear her the ring. "Yes?" Bryan asked in confusion when he heard her response. "Yes! I will be your wife and make you the happiest man in the world!" Sonia said with a giggle and wiggled her fingers until Bryan slid the ring down her finger. Surprisingly the ring was her exact size, and it sat on her finger like it was made just for her. The sound of applause erupted all around them as Sonia stood up with a big smile on her face and embraced Bryan before kissing him right on the lips. Bryan was slightly taken aback by her boldness but quickly recovered since this was his game, and he had to play along. He was the one who had approached her first, after all. So when she tried to break the kiss, he held her chin and slowly nibbled on her lower lip before parting her lips with his tongue and sucked on it in a teasing manner, eliciting a moan from Sonia. Sonia felt light-headed. This was too good to be true. It just had to be a dream. How else could she explain that one moment she was seated at the lobby of a hotel waiting for her editor, and the next she was engaged to her celebrity crush and was kissing him right here in the open?
