Don't leave me.

Ch-54

Anger?

That was the only thing that Laya saw in Rahul's eyes. Why was he angry? She did nothing. She was annoyed at him. Why does he care if something happens to her?

She wriggled in his grip and tried to get out of it. "Leave me," she asked with a frown in between her brows.

"Laya! Enough!" he yelled making her flinch which didn't go unnoticed by Rahul.

He almost kidnapped her to this place just to stop her from leaving but now… she was in no mood to check out her surroundings. She almost left this world leaving him alone.

"You would have died!" he said through his gritted teeth as he tried to control his anger.

Laya was shocked at his behavior. Why does he act as he cares about her? Wasn't he ready to leave her?

"Why do you care?" these words unknowingly left her mouth.

Rahul was already mad at her and her words were just adding oil to the fire.

"Laya! I just love you so much! Why can't you understand it?" he said feeling frustrated.

Laya's eyes widened in shock. What? Did he love her? Was this a kind of stupid joke or a prank? Huh?

If he loves her then why does he torment her like this? She wanted to ask him and she did.

"Love? You really did? Then why did you do those things to me? Why didn't check up on me? Why did you let your mother torture me? And why do you care If I die? Aren't you ready to divorce me? In the name of taking me to Chennai, you took me to this damned Canada! And acting mysterious as if some kind of dumb woman! And let's not forget the point that you decided to divorce me! Like mother like son!

"I know… all you want is to sleep with me. Even If I have to die, I won't let you touch me," Laya said and stormed away from him.

Rahul stood there speechless. Never thought Laya would burst out like this.

And wait… what did she say?

He just wanted to sleep with her?!

What the f**k man!

Clenching his fists into tight balls, he stormed towards her. He pinned her to the lamppost near her. Laya could feel the cold seeping into her body from the thin lamp post. Raising her head, she looked at Rahul. His jaw was clenched, his eyes were turning red with anger and his tall nose was flaring. He looked like an angry bull right now. And his grip on her shoulders was paining her but she held her groans in check.

Rahul gripped Laya's chin in between her thumb and forefinger. Laya could feel his fingers digging into her skin, her skin and face started to pain like anything. And she felt fear creeping into her body when he snaked his right hand around her waist.

And his fingers were digging into her waist, she was sure that they would leave a bruise on her body by tomorrow.

"Leave me," she said as she tried to push him with her hands by placing them on his chest. But he was like a wall, he don't even budge.

"Leave!" she tried to yell but couldn't due to the pain.

"Laya! Stop! You will regret it if you move again," he yelled flaring like a bull.

What does he think of himself?

She wasn't his slave to listen to his words.

She needs to reach her friend and let her about her situation. It won't work if it goes on like this.

Despite his warnings, she tried to push him further. When he didn't budge, she raised her knee and kicked him on his groin.

"Fuck!" Rahul cursed and let her free from his grip.

Taking that as a chance, Laya ran towards their apartment. All Rahul could see was anger. He stood without moving as he let the pain subside when he felt the pain subsided. He started running in her direction.

Laya reached their apartment. And she cursed herself for being stupid. How could she not know the password? Feeling frustrated, she tried to remember his birthday but couldn't. She punched their marriage day as she could remember only that thing but it didn't work. She kicked the door with her foot.

Just then to her bad luck, a strong hand hugged her from back.

When Rahul reached their apartment, he saw she was struggling with the passcode and smirked. He hugged her from the back with his right hand and punched the passcode with his left hand.

Laya saw that the passcode was her birthday. She was shocked at his actions. But she didn't stay in the shock for a longer time, the moment the door was opened she wriggled in his grip. But Rahul was stronger than her, he lifted her in the air and threw her on his shoulder like she was a pillow!

What like a pillow!

Laya was so annoyed at his actions. She started punching him with her little fists on his back and started swinging her legs back and forth in an attempt to kick him out. But… was he not even a human?

Why can't he feel any pain!?

She tried to beat him further but he said nothing, he carried her to the bed and threw her over it without giving a damn to her actions.

Laya wanted to take that as a chance to run away. She sat up straight and was about to run away after grabbing her phone but Rahul was faster. He pinned her down on the bed and hovered over her.

"Leave. I will go," she said panting.

"Where?" Rahul asked. By now, Rahul's anger was disappeared and replaced with amusement. He never thought Laya would turn into a wild cat when she was angry.

"Away from you," she said with anger. And her eyes were glaring daggers at him.

His heart tightened at her words and he closed his eyes for a brief second to hide his pained expression.

"Laya, I know… you have heard our conversation from dinner. I even know… you don't want to be with me. I am afraid you would leave me once we reach Chennai. Because you know Chennai as the back of your hand.

"I really don't want to loose you. I saw you two years ago nearly three years now. At a party in your brother's house. I was invited to his son's birthday and then saw you there. You are all over the place. You are lively and running all over and helping your brother in the celebrations for his son." As he said a small smile formed on his face. Laya was shocked to hear these words from him. She never thought he saw her earlier.

"And you know… I felt like… I was looking at a butterfly that was running all over. And that moment, you stole my heart. From your brother, I heard you are there to do your degree. I waited for you to grow up. On occasions, I used to go there just to get a glimpse of you. But you came very rarely, yet I used to go there. Also, I found your college address and used to wait near the gate for you whenever I am free to catch a glimpse of you.

"Your presence is a booster to me. Looking at you made me work harder. If one day, if I marry you, I want you to have everything in the world. I don't want you to lack a single thing. In the span of two years, I started three more branches of my company and started working for them. I and your brother became close. And on a fine day, when I revealed my feelings to him about you, he left without saying anything.

"But one day, he came knocking on my door in the middle of the night, asking me to marry you. I was over the moon. I said yes! I called my parents and told them about you. My mom was skeptical about you at the start but after knowing about your brother and family she said nothing. Then my family met your family. We decided on an engagement and you were sick. I badly wanted to take care of you but couldn't. But still, I stayed with you for an hour on that day before leaving.

"When I returned my mom said, the engagement was done in a traditional way. I regretted going out that day, I badly wanted to put on a ring on your finger and say I love you and reveal my feeling to you. But I didn't get the chance. Till we got married, my chances slipped away.

"When we were finally married, I thought my love could make you stay with me. But… it didn't.

"The once loving mother turned into a psycho mother-in-law. In the span of my three months absence, you turned into a corpse. In that process, your heart went numb.

"Every day all I could feel is guilt and anger. Guilt for not being able to take care of you and anger on me for being careless.

"I trusted my mother. Because I thought the mother whom I treated like a goddess turned into a demon in your case. Never in my life, I expected my mom to lie to me or do these unspeakable things to you.

"When I returned I realized everyone in your family is like my mother. They don't care about you. I wanted to take you away and give the best of your world but… you wanted to leave me alone." his eyes turned wet all of a sudden.

"How could leave me alone, Laya?" he asked.

Laya never thought Rahul has these many deep feelings towards her. She never noticed him all these years because she knew what her life was and what her ambitions were. And to her loving, someone was a luxury. And she was pretty confident that no one would want her. She doesn't know whether she should laugh or cry that someone loved her. Her eyes were still wide open in shock and surprise.

"Laya, I love you so much. I was never with any woman in my life. There are only four women in my life. My mom, grandmother, sister, and you. If we have a daughter she would be the fifth woman in my life.

"I lied to my mom about the divorce just so that she wouldn't torture you. Even If I get you far away from her, she would think of ways to find your number. She would call you and would abuse you mentally and verbally. I don't want that, Laya. why don't you understand? I didn't mention this to you because I don't want you to be sad.

"When I saw the message from your friend saying that she arranged everything for you to leave me, I felt like my life is going to end. All these years, I spent being with you, having a family with you, and making you my true soulmate.

"I don't want to lose you, Laya. Even now, I was so scared that you may leave me. How could you be so careless, Laya? Can't you see the bike coming in your direction? What shall I do if it hit you? Just live dammit! Live and Please be with me," he pleaded. Rahul's eyes were clouded with tears and they dropped on her cheeks. Laya's heart stopped beating for a second when she saw him crying for her.

Her eyes turned wet when she realized there was someone who could cry for her. She wanted to say something but no words came out.

Rahul buried his face in the crook of her neck and shut his eyes tightly. And he didn't when and how but he slept still hovering over her.

He was asleep that he didn't notice that Laya wrapped her arms around his torso.

Now… Laya was in deep thought. She couldn't understand what she has to do now. Shall she give him a chance? Not only to him but to herself and their relationship.
