Working towards the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia

His enrollment into the Royal Academy was seen in two different lights. On the one side you had the people obviously trying to get onto his good side and trying to help him because he is just 7 years old, whereas the youngest ever other student here was at least 10 years old.

On the other side were the people who were showing anger towards him for different types of reasons. Green was able to make out from the whispering around him, that some of them were members of families of different political sides and he even heard some of his older siblings' allies among them. Some were just plain jealous, because of his privileged upcoming and the 'easy' entrance he got into the Academy.

They also didn't buy into his apparent 'genius', but that died down quickly - after one month into the Academy as he jumped a year ahead and to top it off 2 months after that, another year. Right before his eight birthday he took the last general exams which were designed for 15 to 18 year olds and was roughly comparable with his last life's highschool exams. His other sibling, the youngest of them, took this exam just a year ago, which brought a lot of attention towards him from his infighting family.

Despite being in this world for one and half years, he did not hear a lot of them. He only saw one of his other siblings and that was also only in passing. His father continued to support his decisions without any questions.

Now only a year and a half later in this world, his eight birthday just passed, Green found himself in the library of the Royal Academy - strictly speaking in the part of the library only accessible as a student in an advanced program.

The advanced programs can be compared with a bachelor curse of Green's old world. He chose engineering as his subject, despite literally all other branches in the Academy making him a better antisements. The general level of technologie in the One Piece world was roughly around the mid 19 hundreds level, with some extremes where people were just being over the stone age and the other one being Vegapunk who lived a couple centuries into the future. A normal graduate with a 'engineering' degree would either work in the construction industry or as a shipwright. So, the 'engineering' degree was seen as one of the lowest you could achieve. Other fields were a good bit more advanced, especially medicine, which Green knew just from the story and what bullshit Chopper and Law pulled to keep somebody alive.

*cough* *cough* Luffy after every major fight *cough* *cough*

Green chose engineering because he would get access to the workshop inside the Royal Academy. He would be able to work on projects that he did not want his family to have access to.

As he was currently going over the booklists, inside the new part of the library he had gained access to, he found what he was looking for - the Devil Fruits encyclopedia. He found the shelf number and he immediately shut the book aggressively - if a librarian had seen this he would have gotten himself a lecture in 'how to treat the books', as he has seen them doing countless amounts of times towards the other students here.

The first time he came in here he searched the entire library to find it but after wasting an entire week he got a list of all the books inside the library and realized that he did not have access to it.

And now after waiting an entire year, trying to convince that, 'yes' he can join an advanced program, he is finally in front of his price. He looked at the shelf numbers and turned right at one, into the aisle. Four sections down the aisle he arrived at his destination.

An entire shelf full of books about Devil Fruits. And right in the middle row was the Encyclopedia. Not like shown inside the manga, it was not just one book. It was an entire series of books. Green grabbed the first one and walked towards a reading booth and started to read.

Green, while sitting in one of the comfortable chairs and reading the first book of the Encyclopedia, ate a high nutrition bar. The more pages down into the book, the more he is convinced that staying with his family and not running away was the right choice.

"'It is by law forbidden to eat a Devil Fruit, exemptions are if you are in the marines and/or a member of a military of a nation allied with the world government.' . . . . I definitely did not see that coming; 'A further exemption is; if after the identification of the Fruit is revealed that the Fruit falls into the Tier 0, 1 or 2, it may be possible to eat the Fruit, if the person is agreeing to have monthly checks by their local marine base and random checks in between.' . . . . . Wow….. they even have a tier system for it;

'In tier 0 are Fruits, with which it is near impossible to hurt somebody and also have an extremely limited use case. All Fruits inside this Tier are Paramecias. For example the Color-Color-Fruit, with which you can change colors of objects.' Yep, that's pretty much useless and if the whole thing is real, where if you get knocked out once, everything you have done with your fruit power gets reset.

'Tier 1 has the most amount of Paramecia Fruits, as all the Fruits have some power but all of them are still relatively mild. The upper realm of this tier includes also the weakest of the Zoan types, while in the lower realm are Fruits which were formerly believed to be in the tier 0, but a crafty criminal was able to come up with a way to harm people with the power of the fruit. Examples are the Echo-Echo-Fruit, which gives the user the ability to use echolocation, the Wisdom-Wisdom-Fruit, a Fruit which lets the user depart wisdom of any kind towards a person by touch but it's limited too a small amount as otherwise the brain of the receiver would overload, and basically all small herbivorous Zoan types.

Tier 2 includes a wide variety of Zoan and Paramecia types and is believed to have the most amount of Devil Fruit inside. All powers inside this tier can injure and cause damage with little to no creativity needed for the usage of the power. None of these powers are strong enough to reach the actual peak of the world with only the power of the fruit. The world government has a drop off point somewhere in the middle of this tier, where if you find a Fruit you will definitely not be allowed to eat it anymore.

The next tier, tier 3, has the most power diversity. In the bottom of this tier are all the Zoans which enable the user to fly, but have the actual power of a tier 2. The upper realm of this tier has the Logias, which all have some glaring counter elements, and some of the Ancient Zoans. Tier 3 Devil Fruits have all been seen used by powerful individuals and are seen to be the bare minimum standard to survive in the Grand Line. You have to be at least a Captain from the Marine HQ to be considered to eat one of those Fruits.

Tier 4 is considered such a threat by the World Government(WG), that it will have a bounty placed upon you of at least 10 million berries if you are identified with this power without the knowledge of the WG. Even if the person is going to turn oneself in, they are going to have to live their life with Sea Prism Stone wristbands. Nearly all Logias, most of the Ancient and Mythical Zoan Types are inside this tier with a few select Paramecias.

Tier 5 has the smallest amount of Devil Fruits inside of it. All Fruits that are in this tier, are because they on the one side have the potential to destroy the world or on the other side are capable of interacting with one of the Laws of the universe directly. Examples for either are the Tremor-Tremor-Fruit(A.C: Whitebeard) and the Soul-Soul-Fruit(A.C: Big Mom). If a person is identified as someone who consumed one of these Fruits without the knowledge of the WG, then they are going to receive a flat 100 million berries bounty.'

. . . . . This is insane! Good that I did not ask my father over Devil Fruits or any of the teachers here. A kid genius interested in Devil Fruits would probably put me on some sort of watch list - if I am not already on one. System please sort all the Devil Fruits I know from the story into the tiers and then show me." Green requested.

[System has understood. Processing. . . . . . All Devil Fruits which have shown their powers are sorted. Does the host want to get the entire list in one go or by tier for easier overview?]

"By tier; from lowest to highest please.", he closed the book and waited for the System.

"Make sense that the normal distribution is tilted towards the higher tiered Devil Fruits because we see more the actual damaging ones with the few gag ones thrown in the middle." Green thought while scrolling through the list in front of his inner eye. After some thought he asked the System, "Are there any edge cases?"

[Confirmed. If the Dark-Dark Fruit(Blackbeard) is able to steal other Fruits it would be tier 5, without it, it is higher 4. The Op-Op Fruit(Laws) also is only a lower tier 4 fruit, but if it can actually grant immortality permanently then she would be also a tier 5.]

Green, not having any more questions, reopened the book and continued to read.
