Chapter 54

Or not?

It was hard to define.

Harry was definitely in a dangerous world, but it wasn't a death trap that would result in his certain death.

But it was very, very dangerous and deadly. Especially for someone who had many secrets like him.

At the same time, this world was full of opportunities.

The biggest problem Harry had right now was figuring out how powerful this world or universe truly was.

Based on his information, the strongest beings he knew of were somewhere between being able to wipe out whole solar systems and whole universes. It was hard to tell since the power scale of this world wasn't as clearly defined, especially at the higher levels.

There were a lot of conceptual abilities, but in actual feats seen, they were harder to define.

He definitely knew this world; it was one of his favorite webnovels. Though he wasn't sure whether he should laugh or cry,.

Also, he had no idea how strong he was in comparison.

How did he recognize that world?

Well, the main character was lying in front of him on the dirty floor, beaten half to death.

In fact, he had already died once, and right now he is a reincarnator.

[ Name: Leylin Farlier (formerly Fang Ming) Gender: Male

Occupation: Noble Heir

Level: 4

Age: 13 Race: Human

HP: 50 MP: 80

STR: 4 VIT: 4

INT: 14 WIS: 17

DEX: 5 CHA: 3

LCK: 10

Description: Leylin Farlier is a reincarnator formerly known as Fang Ming. The original owner of the body, a notoriously arrogant playboy, chose to court the wrong girl and received a life-ending beating. Fang Ming, having died in his previous life, is inhabiting this new body and still recovering from his injuries. His soul brought a hack with him from his past life. ]

And what a hack it was.

Another form of a system is an AI chip.

A very advanced piece of technology had been implanted in people's brains on Fang Ming's Earth to assist them with a multitude of tasks.

From data storage and visualization to analysis and research, It was the wet dream of any scientist.

This particular one had been integrated into the soul of Fang Ming and passed over with him.

AI functionalities were in most form overpowered.

Right now, the defenseless owner of an AI chip was laying right in front of Harry on the floor, close to death.

Nobody would ask any questions if Leylin were to die here and now.

This world he had come to was a savage one, where the strong ruled.

The fictional work he had arrived at was called 'Warlock of the Magus World' and here is the strong take all.

Leylin had risen to the top with the help of the AI chip and a lot of luck.

But why would Harry just let such a gift leave here on the ground? Especially since it could help him with one of his problems.

One of the main functions of an AI chip is analysis.

There was a high chance it could help him figure out what was wrong with his gaming system. A third opinion didn't hurt.

And even if not, it would be a very useful tool to have in this world.

There were a multitude of problems he had to solve right now. Especially of how he could get home.

Since this wasn't a direct death trap, the true problem has to be leaving.

Based on his knowledge of the story, he had multiple theories on why he couldn't leave.

First of all, one reason could be the spatial turmoil around the South Coast, the region of the Magus World he was in right now, which made any form of teleportation and space travel extremely difficult.

His second idea was the world itself; there could be a barrier around this world that could only pass through if he was strong enough.

Or, similar to his second theory, he just could be too weak for space travel; no barrier is needed. In the story, one had to be a Rank 4 magus, a powerful being, to travel to other worlds.

But this was a big problem.

Or rather, time was a big ass problem.

Becoming stronger wasn't a matter of a few years, but of centuries.

This is pretty much a cultivation novel towards immortality that plays over a very long time.

While he was immortal in his Elvish features, the people waiting for him were not.

By the time he may be Rank 4, even with Meta Knowledge, he would be probably a century old.

Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do about it right now. He also had to come up with a story to tell these people why he was lying here in the middle of the wilderness.

His gaze fell on Leylin once again.

Should he try to preserve the Canon Storyline somehow and become a bystander or something?

Nah, fuck Canon.

There was one thing he had gained for certain during his gamble with truth: a lot of knowledge about alchemy, science, and the soul.

While it did bring him into this situation, he had gained a lot. A ton of his skills have risen by several levels.

Overall, he had gained more than a thousand levels amongst all his skills.

And amongst them was a deep understanding of the soul.

With a Philosopher Stone as a conduit, Harry knew how to absorb and manipulate souls.

And he still had one sitting in his inventory.

Philosopher Stone in his hand, it directly ripped into the unconscious form of Leyling Farlier.

'Sorry, Leylin, but there is no way I would follow in your shadows. All you can do is blame your bad luck and hope for another reincarnation. Blame this world we are in; it's a cuthroat one, and you have something that can help me.' Harry thought as he felt Leylin's soul wander into the Philosopher Stone and from there into himself, getting absorbed by his own very powerful soul.

Leylin's soul stood no chance; while he is a reincarnator like Harry, he is far weaker.

Not only did Harry's original soul get strengthened by fighting a Horcrux since being a baby, even absorbing parts of it, but Harry is also a reincarnator and gamer who focuses on magic and mental aspects.

An unconscious and untrained soul, even with an AI chip, stood no chance against Harry's.

While of Leylin only a soulless husk remained, the body still alive but nothing inseparable, for Harry a few notifications appeared.

[ Soul Absorption Completed! ]

[ New Skill Aquired! ]

[ A.I. Assis- Bzzzt Warning! Fatal Error! ]

[ Critical Error! Conection to the Main Server failed! ]

'WTF? Again? Why? What did I do wrong?' Harry panicked as he saw his Gamer System once again fail.

[ System conflict detected! ]

[ Initiating Emergency System Shutdown! ]

'They are clashing? This is bad!' He had no idea why they were conflicting; after all, they were two completely different systems.

Harry didn't have any idea what principles his Gamer System was even working on; it was just a gift he had received.

Maybe it was in the soul too? Could that be the reason why they are clashing?

This was bad. Instead of solving his problem, he had only caused more.

And while he could absorb a soul, he couldn't just unabsorb it. Leylin's soul was now part of his own, including the A.I. Chip.

If he knew how to create a Horcrux, he may have been able to split the part with the AI Chip again, but he didn't. Even then, it would have been only a long shot.

[ Beep! AI chip systems are fully functional and ready for usage. Initiating a mandatory full-body Scan! ]

'That sounds good? Maybe it just took some time to start?' Harry wondered in hope, only to realize that his original Gamer System wasn't actually working right now. He felt his own emotions in full force!

The gamer's mind is usually preventing this.

[ Beep! Mandatory full-body scan completed! The physical body is in healthy condition. ]

[ Beep! Parasitic soul entity detected! ]

'Parasitic soul entity? What could that mean? Wait, didn't Truth call me a Trojan Horse?' Harry realized that a worrying picture had formed in his mind.

Why had he been gifted a system? For Entertainment? How stupid could he be to believe something like that? There had to be more behind it. Why hadn't he realized anything earlier?

Harry thought further about it: 'Why would I realize anything? Isn't my system already manipulating my emotions? Why not my aunts too? I acted a bit extreme a few times—an army of undead. Killing was one of my first acts. Sure, a will to survival does a lot, but I have been nothing more than a normal student before, not particularly a psychopath. Neither was Harry Potter so extreme; rather, he was suicidal. From somewhere, this had to come from...'

[ Initiating emergency measures for host safety. Exterminating foreign entity! ]

'What? No, fuck, wait. I am in a dangerous situation. I need my strength! And my things are in my inventory! Stop this!' Harry cried out, trying to stop whatever was going on. This was far too risky.

[ Command access is temporarily revoked. Abortion Command ignored! Hosts are still under the influence of a foreign entity. Commencing Extermination! ]

'SHIT!'

And then there was pain.
