Kai Rose

"Ugh, still nothing." A young man groaned in anger.

This man was Kai Rose, the heir to the Rose Dukedom.

Currently, he was 18 years of age and training by swinging his sword.

It was currently late in the evening darkness began to slowly set in as he continuously practised sword moves.

He was a handsome man, with piercing cold blue eyes, black hair, and well-built muscles.

He was currently wearing black boots with black trousers and no shirt.

He put his sword down and grabbed a towel he had prepared to wipe the sweat off his muscles before putting on his shirt.

Then out of nowhere, a cute-sounding voice sounded from behind him.

"Young Master, the duchess would like to see you" A young woman called out.

He turned around to see a 168cm tall cat girl dressed in a maid uniform.

Hearing that his mother was looking for him he chose not to delay it and said "Alright" with a cold expression on his face as he walked past the cat girl without glancing at her.

Kai didn't want to ignore her as she was, in fact, his childhood friend.

But Kai had a secret no one knew about.

Kai was reborn in this world after he took his own life.

He was gifted with a brilliant mind, personality and looks.

But due to various reasons, he chose it was better to move on to a better place.

He was reborn into a Fantasy RPG-like world.

In this world, people would be born with a class.

It could range in how good and useful it was but almost everyone in the world was born with a class.

Noble families have a history of family members having the same class or a variation of it.

They would differ in strength and power but usually, the theme would be similar.

For example, Kai's family usually were some form of Ice mage.

His mother has the class Absolute Zero Mage, allowing her to control the coldest Ice imaginable.

Based on her power and leadership she became the Duchess of the Rose Dukedom.

That is not to say that classless people had to suffer. Kai's father was living proof of that.

He had unfortunately passed in a war with another kingdom before Kai was born so he had never gotten to meet him.

But Kai's father was the greatest inspiration for classless people.

He was classless but his swordsmanship reached such a high level that he was able to contend with class holders.

After all, classless people could increase their level too and gain stats.

The problem is they would not gain any class skills.

This didn't mean that it was impossible to gain skills.

With some luck and hard work, one could gain a unique skill.

A unique skill is exactly what it sounds like, it was a skill that was unique to the individual who used it.

While it was possible to have a similar unique skill to someone else, they will at the least have small differences.

Regardless if you had a class or were classless, you still could gain a unique skill.

Another possibility is to gain a profession class.

Unlike regular classes, profession classes consisted of classes that were more suited for regular people or jobs.

These included Miner, Chef, Merchant etc...

They would increase their level based on the actions they did depending on their profession.

For example, a chef would have to cook food. The higher quality food they make the better XP they gain.

The higher levelled chefs could even provide buffs and stat boosts with their food.

Profession classes were a good way to make money if you didn't want to risk your life, but the competition was sometimes far fiercer.

When he reincarnated, Kai managed to keep his looks which made him happy. Despite the slight differences.

He was 6cm taller, his hair was black instead of brown and straight instead of curly.

He was also happy that he managed to keep his memories as otherwise, this him wouldn't be him.

Yet, with retaining his memories came his previous problems and personality.

Earlier when he ignored his childhood friend, he didn't want to.

But his anxiety got the better of him and he had to see his mother anyway.

Even if he didn't, it's not like she would blame him but he still felt bad.

He had social anxiety and didn't like talking to people that much, but when needed he could talk and charm people with ease.

But he always thought talking to people was too bothersome as he hates the feeling of anxiety.

Despite managing to overcome his anxiety easily most of the time.

He still chooses not to enter situations that may make him anxious.

Thanks to this and his naturally cold-looking demeanour. Visitors to the duchy had begun to spread rumours that he is a cold and ruthless individual.

These rumours didn't bother Kai in the slightest. In fact, he welcomed them as they would help keep people away from him.

Kai made his way into the grand Rose palace and made his way towards his mother's office.

While walking he took a look around his home in this world.

The first thing that always popped into his head was 'large' the entire palace was gigantic.

The Rose family had plenty of wealth so they had no qualms about spending it.

Building such a large palace required a large amount of manpower and resources.

Which of course would cost more than a fair share.

But the Rose family didn't mind the large price. They even paid the workers more than requested to help the people on their land.

After the palace was built it didn't end there.

They would of course have to hire plenty of staff to maintain the palace and take care of the grounds.

They ended up giving jobs to hundreds of people and improving even more lives.

The interior was decorated with various treasures, stuffed monsters and weapons.

Kai's mother loved to collect things like this.

She would from time to time go out for a while.

She would say that she is going out for official ducal business.

Kai knew the truth.

She was most likely hunting a new rare or unique monster or found some new interesting dungeon.

Kai didn't know what level his mother was but he was certain she wasn't to be trifled with.

That is why Kai was always early to meetings with his mother and tried to keep his mouth shut.

He was afraid if he opened his mouth he'd offend his mother and get exiled or something.

He has read stories with cold distant parents who would hate a classless waste like him.

If at least he had a status screen maybe he would have an easier time becoming more powerful.

But as it is right now, he has nothing to accurately judge his strength from.

He won't even know what level he is if he starts levelling up.

Kai quickly regained his composure as he reached the doors to his mother's office.

He went to knock on the door but before he could even touch it, he heard a voice from the other side.

"Come in." said the voice, it sounded sweet and pleasant yet slightly chilly and distant.

Kai opened the door and walked inside.

As he walked in the first thing he could see was a beautiful woman sitting behind a desk.

Moonlight shined on her through the large window behind her as she finished signing some papers.

She had icy blue hair and eyes. She had a pale complexion and smooth flawless skin.

She had a cute button nose and big rosy lips.

You wouldn't be able to tell from behind the desk, and Kai hated to admit it.

But his mother did have a really good figure.

She was 180cm tall with a slight hourglass shape and a firm tight ass and large breasts.

Kai had no thoughts about his mother, but this didn't mean he couldn't appreciate beauty.

This was Lumi Rose, the current head of the Rose family, the duchess of the Rose dukedom and the mother of Kai Rose.

The room itself was covered with bookshelves and paperwork.

On the side, there was a coffee table with 2 small couches on either side.

The path from the door towards the desk was straight down the middle.

Down this path was a blue carpet with golden trim.

"You called." Kai calmly stated.

He tried to keep what he says to a minimum so he wouldn't say something dumb.

His mother was already used to the blunt way he spoke and she didn't blame him.

She understood why he would behave like this.

He was the heir to one of the most powerful families in the world.

Large expectations were placed on his shoulders yet he didn't even have a class.

Currently, he has been kept in the Rose duchy so the fact that he is classless has not gotten out.

No one knows anything about him other than the rumours that he is handsome and dangerous.

But tomorrow he would be leaving for the Royal Academy and the secret would get out.

He would have to face ridicule and bullying not only from other ducal families.

But also from those of weaker standing, after all. How often do you get to mess with a dragon and come out unscathed?

"Tomorrow is the day you leave for the Royal Academy." She simply said and looked at Kai.

Kai simply nodded in response and waited for what his mother wanted to say.

"Are you ready to leave in the morning?" She asked while having the same indifferent expression as her son.

Kai nodded again. It's not like he needed to do anything to get ready. All his belongings would be packed for him.

All he had to do was wake up and get dressed. If he asked he didn't even need to do the latter part himself.

"Alright, you may leave. I won't be able to send you off tomorrow." Lumi said as she looked back down at the paperwork on her desk.

"I understand, I'll see you in the future mother. Take care." With that Kai turned around and walked out of the office.

He turned around to shut the door behind him but when he turned back he accidentally bumped into someone.

"Nyah!"

Hearing the panicked noise he didn't have to use his eyes to know who he bumped into.

He managed to grab them due to his fast reflexes.

His hand was currently wrapped around the person's waist as they opened their mouth to say something.

"Nyah, young master y-you can let me go now." A cute and slightly embarrassed voice sounded.

'Ahhh, why am I holding her by the waist?!' Kai thought to himself.

Kai said nothing and let them go as requested.

Straightening himself out he looked down at the person he just saved from himself.

She was Leah Dusk, Kai's childhood friend and personal maid.

She was 168cm tall with black hair that reached her shoulders.

She had a small cute nose and lips but had a fierce gaze in her deep blue eyes.

The fierce look in her eyes complimented her cute appearance giving a cute yet fierce feeling.

She had a petite figure with breasts and an ass that weren't large but Kai still thought were perfectly proportioned to her height and figure.

Her ass and breasts weren't large but they weren't small either.

As goldilocks would say her figure was just right in Kai's opinion.

"Are you unhurt?" Kai asked in his standard indifferent tone.

It was as if the situation didn't affect him in the slightest.

"I am, thank you, young master," Leah replied, still blushing because of what happened a moment ago.

Leah wanted to speak to Kai about something but seeing his standard indifferent expression she began to hesitate.

He didn't seem to have the slightest reaction when being that close to her.

Maybe he couldn't be bothered with her and wouldn't listen.

While she was his childhood friend, it was true that they grew apart to a certain extent.

Both were thanks to the fact that Kai was always busy and because she had become his personal maid.

Their status was different so they couldn't play in public as they did when they were kids.

They had to keep their relationship mostly professional. At least that's what Leah's mother taught her. Kai didn't care but he respected Leah's wishes.

"Why is she just standing there? Is everything alright? Maybe I should ask her if she wants something?" Kai's brain went into overdrive trying to think of a reason why Leah was standing there motionless.

"Did you need something?"

Hearing Kai's voice Leah firmed her resolve and meekly said what she wanted to say.

"D-do you remember the promise you made me when we were young nya?" Leah asked while not daring to look at Kai.

"Promise? What promise? I don't remember promising her anything. Should I just tell her that? But no, she will most likely tell me to forget it. I guess I could promise her I will hear her out and leave before she tells me to forget it."

Kai once again thought things through swiftly and decided to be upfront.

"I don't I'm afraid. Come to my chambers in 30 minutes. I need to take a shower and then I'll see what I can do." Kai said before quickly leaving before Leah could say anything.
