Narrow minded Fools

The orc leader had an amused smile on his face when Claude guessed everything right.

" We saw your village's fruit farms, that's why we tried to ask. We were not expecting you to even negotiate with us but one of my young generals forced me. Who knew that I would have my first interesting conversation with a human here. That also with a cub." The orc leader said with a satisfied smile.

" I don't know if I can help you as the harvest of the fruits is already done and most of the fruits were already sold and sended out of venia but you know that we can't give it to you for free." Claude said cautiously.

" Hmm, you see what you can do with your village and I will see what I can do with my tribe. Are you a magic user, specifically a life magic user ?" The orc leader nodded his head.

" I can cast basic healing magic. We will meet each other after two hours." Claude said and they both turned around and went towards their respective group.

" How did the conversation turn out ?" Eren asked before Ares could even open his mouth.

" They don't have enough food supplies to cross the village and then mountains. They saw the fruit farms and came in the hope of trading." When Claude said that everyone was surprised due to two things. First the orcs or to precise monsters were willing to talk with humans and second Claude was able to have a conversation with an orc. They only saw the conversation happening with a few laughs from that orc who looked like he could smash Claude's head with just a grab.

" Are we really thinking of trading our fruits with monsters !?" An intermediate rank soldier came forward and shouted.

" Why do you have some problems ?" Claude asked, a bit annoyed by the tone of the soldier.

" A human talking with monsters is the biggest problem but humans trading with monsters is a taboo." The soldier said with rage.

" And who made it a taboo ?" Claude asked with a noble tone but his eyes were dead which sended chills on the onlookers spine. They have not seen these eyes since that day two years ago.

" You !! You are just a child, what do you know about society !? Just because we respect you doesn't change the fact that you are a wh—" Before he can even complete the sentence the air around the soldiers became heavy. And a crimson red energy started spreading.

The soldier who was speaking knelt and coughed a mouthful of blood. This was the Aura of Bloodlust.

" Watch what you speak or I don't mind killing you right now right here." Eren, the owner of the Aura said. After the death of Ellen, Eren had become self conscious about his surroundings. He had become overprotective when it comes to his family.

Eren had his sword drawn but before he could even walk towards the soldier Claude gestured to him to stop. Eren, seeing Claude's gesture stopped what he was doing.

When the Aura stopped the air returned to normal and everyone was gasping for oxygen. One of the soldiers ran towards the now blood coughing soldier and held him.

" He doesn't trust monsters because he had lost his father in a monster raid !!" The soldier who was holding the other soldier shouted in tears.

" If you think that just because a monster killed his father, the monsters are bad, then shouldn't I and my brother hate humans after one of them killed our mother." Claude said with his eyes glowing blue. He didn't want to use mana but subconsciously his eyes started glowing with Aura of Pride due to the emotions flowing through him.

"..."

Everyone became silent as what Claude said was the truth. If a person can hate a whole species just because one of them killed your beloved then a person who hates his own race shouldn't be narrow minded after one of their own killed another.

" Stop being such a narrow minded fool. If I didn't have made negotiations with them then half you present would already be dead and I don't even want to know how many innocent womens, childrens and farmers would have died. This village would have suffered so much loss that it would have taken at least a few years to recover completely." Claude said.

" Inform the villagers to prepare as many fruits as possible in an hour if they don't want the village to be attacked. If someone tries to be a smartass saying what is our job then tell them that we are meant to protect the village not sacrifice ourselves for them. Our lives also come with a cost which they can never afford." Claude ordered one of the soldiers. Seeing the anger in Claude's eyes the soldier brooke into a cold sweat and hurriedly nodded saying :-

" Yes, young master Claude !!"

The soldier along with a few more soldiers and a master rank went towards the village to complete the task given to them by Claude.

" Calm down," Eren said, appearing beside Claude.

Even though they both were childrens at age of 10 and 11, they had seen the cruelty of the world even more than some of the adults. Why the fuck would they mind monsters when they have seen much worse cruelty in their own race. At least the monsters and other races care for their own kind but humans would rather sell their own kind to just get a small luxury.

After an hour went by, the soldiers came with a trolley.

" We have brought around 6 boxes of fruit. There will be at least a few thousand fruits." The soldier who received the order from Claude said with a straight and serious face but his shaking legs didn't go unnoticed by the onlookers.

' So, at most this fruit can last a few days for them...' Claude didn't even pay attention to the soldiers as his mind was already calculating the situation for the orcs.

He looked at the soldier who flinched when he saw Claude's deep sapphire eyes looking at him. He started shaking with his eyes closed.

" Hm, I guess that's enough, you can go." Claude said with indifference. Seeing that Claude didn't said anything to the soldier, everyone including some master rank sighed in relief and were happy for the soldier who was saved from becoming the dragons snack.
