chapter Three: Grand ball...

I had dressed up already wearing a black three piece suit then I went to see Ning xi. She hadn't dressed up yet and the stylist were just fixing her hair and face when I came in. She stood up and looked at me.

"No way" she closed her eyes.

"I knew you were gonna dress like that so I improvised, you have to look good, this is my revenge plan, and as my supposed fiancee, you have to rock everything"  Ning xi had agreed to become my fiancee but only in mouth, just to get the assets and of course not after arguing for some time, of course I didn't plan on letting her go. I knew her father was making way for me and I had to use it wisely.

She brought out a box and gave me.

"Take your clothes off" I raised my brow, I would be more than happy to fulfill that. When she realized what she said she looked at me.

'"no I didn't mean it like that" I smiled and took the box the. Went ahead to change and she was satisfied then she helped me styled my hair, which I was more than happy to sit down and let her, those small hands working it's way through my hair.

Junting's POV

"This invitation is surprising, we have been trying to get close to the Nings for ages, thank you Jia Yi" I hugged her.

"It's not much, it was easy for my family to get this"

"You're the best sister In-law" xuelo told her happily.

"She more capable than that country bumpkin, so annoying, ever since she left, things have been going so well, now that you guys are married, I can expect grandkids, beautiful ones"

"Oh mother, you flatter me, my parents would be there too"

"Really? Alright"

They laughed.

I couldn't help but think of Ning xi, she tried for us, but she just wasn't befitting of my status. "Let's go" we both left the house. Getting into the car as we drove off.

The moment the car got into the mansion I couldn't help but look around, this was like an entirely different world, workers efficiently working, everywhere neat, cars arranged and lots of it. The guests were  going in.

"Wow this is so different, wow, so beautiful" xuelo said.

Indeed it was.

We began fratenize, of course I needed the connections to go up higher, my in-laws introduced me around. I tried my best to look good, this was the top family in Shanghai and the most mysterious, rumours even had it that they had a very beautiful daughter who was the only heir to the company that worth trillion. I was even thinking of making an impression but now I was married, there was no choice.

"Brother junting I think I just saw Ning xi that wench" xuelo told me.

"Where?" I turned around and saw her standing there. I opened my eyes wide, I have never seen her dressed up or even wore something that expensive, was the reason why I detested her so much. But now, she was glowing, as she laughed and talked, she was glowing, wearing a red long dress that exposed her back, she garnered a lot of attention from all the men around. That red was especially contrasting against that snow white skin and her hair was beautifully done, everything on her looked expensive.

I followed Jia Yi and walked up to her, along with my mom and sister.

"Look who we have here? A country bumpkin" my mom said to her.

She turned around and looked at us smiling.

"Nice to meet you here" Jia Yi told her.

"We aren't that familiar enough to actually greet each other are we?"

She said, smiling. She exuded confidence,  and charisma which was completely unlike the docile girl I knew, she was so different.

"Please, who knew what garbage yeah you picked those from, you didn't actually steal it did you?" Xuelo said.

"Xuelo" I cautioned her.

"Heard you got married yesterday, congratulations" she told me.

"Ning xi what are you doing here? Do you think by chasing me all the way here I would take you back, I already told you I don't love you so get out"

Everyone had turned to stare and was mummuring.

"Everyone look at this, this country bumpkin girl, has the guts to chase my son all the way here, she thinks she's out class, check your things in case they're stolen already" my mom said.

Ning xi just laughed, the light came on and everyone turned to the stage and saw an old man walking down accompanied by another man who looked really handsome, I felt inferior in some way.

From the corner of my eye I saw Ning xi trying to go up and I held her back.

"What do you think you're doing?? Because I dropped you, you think you can suck up to anyone now? Let me tell,.no one would want you, no one if not me" her hands were unusually soft.

"Let go of me!" She took her hand away and went forward.

"Thank you everyone attending this gathering, I'm using this as medium to also announce that my daughter has returned home"

She's back? There was mummur.

"I'll also be using this to announce that I'll be formally handing my company and an assets of multi trillion over to her, and the fact that she is engaged"

Engaged already?"

"Where is this girl? I Told her to stay put"

Everyone's started laughing at the way he was looking for her.

The man beside him left him and started walking. "Oh there she is"  we all watched the man walked up to...

Ning xi??

He bowed and extended his arm and a him exploded in my head.

"Son what's happening? Is Ning xi the daughter of a prestigious family?"

"I don't know"

"This is my daughter" he announced. Everyone was shocked. And I wasn't excluded.

Ning xi wasn't a country bumpkin?? She was the daughter of the Ning empire?? A multi trillion dollar businesses? But-

All these thoughts ran through my mind.

I started regretting it,  why did I break up with her? No I must get her back, it's not as if she did me wrong, she was good and very beautiful now more than ever. She is my wife after all. Thinking all these I was more resolute.
