"Urghh..." Igarashi grumbled.
Currently, his head was slammed down on the table. It had been around 4 hours since he started drawing the popular series back on earth called 'Your name'
The manga version of 'Your Name' consists of 9 chapters, while the animation is an hour and a half. And back on earth, he was a big fan of this work. So getting to draw it and spread this 'culture' in another world is a blessing and a curse for him.
Why a curse? Well, although with the help of the system, he can remember all the parts of the manga, drawing the manga panels one by one is tiring work. Don't blame him, he rarely drew anything when he entered college, a complete contrast to when he was in high school drawing all sorts of stuff.
'Makoto-sensei... Why did you have to make your story so complicated... Then again, it's that complicity that gives it its charm...' Igarashi thought as he slowly raised his head
It is currently in the afternoon and Igarashi is only satisfying his hunger with a small ration given by the system like biscuits. But those rations will eventually be gone and Igarashi needs to sell a book and earn some money for food. If not, then... 'I'll need to finish this quick...'
It was at this moment that a loud knock came from behind the closed door.
*Knock!* ×2
Igarashi, who was eating some biscuits, got confused as to who would want to see him. He just got to Liyue harbor and he was sure that the previous body doesn't know anyone from here. 'Who is it?'
Igarashi stood up and approached the door. He first checked his appearance to see if he didn't look weird.
He was currently wearing a plain white dress shirt with black pants and leather boots. His hair was a bit messy and long but not to the point that he'll look like a suspicious individual. The color of his eyes was dark-brown, matching the color of his air.
'I look like someone from the European continent in the middle ages... If my face isn't Asian, that is.' Igarashi thought
He opened the door and the sun's light cast down on his face. He blocked the sun's light and focuses on the person standing in front of his door.
"Oh, hello!" The person said
He focused more and finally saw what the person looked like. It was a young girl with dark, indigo-black hair cut in a bob-like fashion at the front with thick bangs swept to one side by a golden hair clip with a paw motif, the rest braided in a looped bow-like updo at the back of her head resembling panda ears when viewed from the front, fastened with a small red ribbon.
She has golden eyes, a pale complexion, and a perpetual smile on her face.
She wears a brown and gold leotard with red ribbons in the front and back, the back being larger, and holding a bell. She wears a gold belt, which she uses to hold her vision.
Additionally, she wears brown fingerless gloves and boots, as well as a braided red ribbon around her left thigh and right arm and adhesive bandages crossed in an X on her right knee
When Igarashi saw the girl, he immediately recognized her. Especially with the... Panda bear standing beside her. It was Xiangling and her companion Gouba.
'Why's she here?' Igarashi secretly thought. He then decided to ask her in a friendly manner "Uhh, yes? How can I help you?"
"Well, my father noticed that someone bought the shop beside us and wanted to welcome you here. So, he wanted me to give you this!" Xiangling explained cheerfully as she hand over a bowl of soup that looked exceptionally delicious.
Igarashi didn't want to refuse as that would be rude. Moreover, he was hungry, so, he decided to accept it. He held the bowl of soup and thanked her. "Thank you."
Xiangling smiled cheerfully and said: "No worries! If you want more, you could always eat at our restaurant next door!"
"Lo ♪ Lo ♪ Lo ♪" Gouba added. Igarashi didn't understand anything though and just found it cute. Though, he won't be fooled by that cuteness. 'Marchosius... The God of Stove now known as Gouba...'
Igarashi took his eyes off Gouba and paid attention to Xiangling once more. He smiled gently and said: "I'll definitely will."
Hearing his reply, Xiangling smiled and nodded a bit.
But at this moment, a sudden thought came over Igarashi's mind. 'Wait! This could be my chance!'
After that thought, he immediately said to Xiangling: "Oh, wait! Stay there, I have to get something real quick!"
After that, he went back inside, leaving the confused Xiangling at the door. After a few seconds, Igarashi came back holding a book in his hand. "Since you gave me this meal, it's only normal for me to give something back, no?"
He lifted the book in his hand which had a painting of two young people wearing strange clothes with the letters in front: Your Name
Igarashi handed the book to the confused Xiangling. The latter asked: "What's this?"
Hearing this question, Igarashi gave a brief explanation. "You've read some novels before, yeah?"
"Yes...?" Xiangling replied, still confused.
"Well them, this will be easier to explain. That right there is called a 'manga'. It's basically a novel book but is instead composed of illustrations."
He then gestured at the book and said: "Why don't you flip it and see for yourself?"
Xiangling was confused for a while before deciding to open the 'manga'. She opened it and what came to her view first was a beautiful painting of the two people on the front cover but with a red string connecting them while they are facing the opposite direction of each other.
Xiangling was amazed at the art of the first page and praised Igarashi "T-This is amazing..."
Igarashi chuckled a bit and replied: "That's only the first page, you can continue reading as you flip each page..."
Xiangling nodded vigorously as she flipped to the next page. And again, she was captivated by the art she had never seen before. Before she even knew it, she was already engrossed in reading it.
Seeing Xiangling's reaction, Igarashi nodded and thought. 'Looks like the art is good...'
He then said to her: "You can have this as my payment for this soup."
Hearing this, Xiangling stopped reading for a while and looked at him surprised. "Eh?! Are you sure? This... This is a beautiful work... Just giving it away..."
"Haha, don't worry. Isn't this Liyue Harbor? The nation of contracts? It's only normal for me to return something." Igarashi replied
"But still..." Xiangling insisted
Seeing this, Igarashi sighed "*Sigh* Fine... You can recommend this book to your friends if you like. How about that?"
"Eh?! Really?! If it is then... I'll do it! I'll finish the story and let everyone else know of this!" Xiangling said as she raises the book
Igarashi didn't reply any longer and just chuckled. They both parted ways, leaving Igarashi alone again.
He opened his system interface and saw that it worked! He had sold 1 copy!
Seeing the update, Igarashi smirked and started eating the radish soup that was given by Xiangling.
'After this, I'll need to make more copies...'
