Gene System

Blake is a young man who has had to suffer through devastation over and over again losing more than just an arm. With no power of his own he could barely stand a chance against others or even be deemed useful by the military. All he can do is accept his sister's help bitterly knowing he can't return it to the same effect. After a series of events a meeting with near death shocks him to his very core changing his life forever. Awakening a hidden element buried deep within his genetic code. The Gene System, an advanced complex genetic technology used to expand and improve the overall potential and direction of evolution for the user's genetic code naturally mapping out and directing where the user should go with the growth they obtain. Not much else is known, only that few on every planet are given one through unknown means. The current state of the world is racked with unbridled chaos as the military fruitless attempts to stop the atrocities committed by the organisation known as the Gene hunters. Seeking to steal and splice any genetic data they can get their hands on by whatever psychotic means whether it be dissection, slow harvesting or cloning ethics are not a concern. Hundreds of thousands have been affected by the gene hunters including Blake's family. Some are never seen again, just used as cows for genetic harvesting over and over again until they dried up never to see their families again. Changes have begun to sprout in the background of earth leading to more and more mysterious events occurring, genetic powers becoming stronger, animals becoming mutated and evolving faster than normal generational lines. All the while in the background an unknown force beyond human comprehension lurks just beyond the veil waiting patiently for the time to run out and indulge in his planet level feast devouring all life in sight. Blake will give his all to overcome these brutal circumstances by whatever means. No matter the pain, suffering or loss he will continue to go forward no matter the cost. Failure isn't a devastation but a stepping stone in his larger goal. In his pursuit to build his strength he wont forget where he came from guarding the weak as someone who grew from that. Seeing the lack of care or acknowledgement to the majority viewed as weak in the military disdain makes him step up as the leader needed to change the structure of this world for the better. In the weak there is strength which Blake knows all too well. His reason to go forward is to become the man he wants to be. The only thing that truly terrifies is the idea of letting it all go, giving up and betraying himself and his potential.

Recollection

Entering the workshop now, Blake is in complete awe. Mementos and built up history splayed out everywhere for the eye to see. Pictures of Blake and Raven are placed in the most used areas.

A massive workbench goes from one side of the room to the other. Plenty of space for anything grand in size. With adequate space for equipment in making intricate pieces of technology. A star-like electronic light shines from the ceiling of the workshop.

"Poetic placement dad, always have your determination at your side". Blakes says brushing his fingers on the cigarette holder. The light glints off the holder as he pulls one out. Before he can even light up the familiar red blade meets the end of his cigarette.

"I think humans call it muscle memory. This happened a lot in the past, you've inherited a lot more than you think. You both struggle with lighters". Nova says as the programming of his memories summons forward seeing this familiar action from Blake.

"Looks like you picked up his detestable habit as well, he would always stain these pristine walls with his tarry smoke. I Always tried to get him to quit, never happened. Might be a comforting return of it with you around though, you creatures never surprise me. Keep doing an act that will kill you slowly". Nova's disdain circulates, Eric and Blakes logic for this really contributing to his irritation.

"Thank you for the light, Dad always had a way with finding the most puzzling ways to lose the lighters". Blake says as Nova side eyes him making sure he doesn't brush over the irritation he has seeing another generation destroying their flesh.

"I know, I'm going to take my time and quit when I'm ready to. Right now things are too chaotic for that to happen". He says finally drawing in utopian smoke. His brain is already feeling the stress leave in the presence of nicotine.

The grief makes itself present despite the time passed and the nicotine however. "I can already picture him spending many late nights here, tinkering away as usual". Blakes emotions tried to surface but just the bitter sweetness of this place was felt in his core. Tears dried up long ago.

"Many, Many nights. He would worry me so much, his body was always put to the limit combat or not". Nova runs through the old footage reminiscing on the past. Changes start to be made within his coding. Deep restructuring within him from this new life out of stasis.

"Not even a little bit surprising, his fashion statement was pretty much baggy eyes". Blake chuckles a little, thankful his humor is still kicking around.

"The last thing he was working on here took him plenty of all nighters and smokes at that, it was a spaceship of his own design, he wanted it to be a mothership of sorts and didn't know his intentions for it sadly. Of course only small parts were sketched and built here. Nothing like the whole thing" Nova's fondness for the past finds its way into his electronic voice giving it more warmth then it should.

"I'll have to dig up his old sketches to show you. I think you would be one of the few to appreciate it". Nova says, setting a digging protocol to sift through droves of information in the background of his mind.

"Other than that the workshop is stocked up with what was left". Nova's encouragement makes itself evident for Blake to see.

"Normally I watch the feed of his creations in the back of my mind during admin work. Peaceful times are long gone" Nova says despite the sorrow being processed, nano seconds at a time.

A fondness for a sort of reenactment of the past virtualizes in his mind. Emotion becomes more and more vivid for him. The answer for his stasis is still struggling to process all the way through.

"Titanium, reinforced steel, carbon fiber coating, rubberized polymer and plenty of circuitry, Dad had everything" Blake looks over the parts, joyous ingenuity is already sprouting. The access to such high quality materials nearly makes Blake keel over in shock.

"This is more than any of the scraps the military would throw at me. Are you sure I can use all of this? Blake says, running over his mental sketch of his prototype arm and how much it was lacking.

"Blake, your Eric's son, you've already inherited this whole place" Nova's confusion makes his expressions form a mimicry of sorts, lifting an eyebrow up at Blake.

"What"? Bewilderment slaps Blake in the face at this response.

"It's the logical conclusion, his possessions get passed down to his kin, do you not want this place"? Nova's says coming to a concise conclusion on the matter.

"This whole place is mine" Blake says with clear hesitation at the idea and responsibility.

"Did i stutter, i don't think my voice box allows that ''. Nova's cold steel face emphasizes his seriousness.

"Are you sure"? Blake says, seeking further clarification.

"Blake I swear, accept it or don't" Nova's irritation starts to form in a crackle in his voice box.

"Thank you nova" Accepting before he causes any misunderstanding.

"Thank your father, don't you dare take his gifts in vain either". Nova's seething annoyance boils from the back and forth, coming out clear as day in his expressions.

"Wouldn't dream of it" Blake says without any hesitation in his voice.

Looking at the state of Nova's appendage, the broken mechanical fingers dangling from wires barely hanging on. "Why don't I fix that hand of yours first, then I can start my upgrades".

"It's been a long while since I've been up for repairs, I'd like that". Nova says, An organic smile breaks through on his irritated mechanical face.

"You said you were in a stasis, do you have information on the moment before you were frozen"? Blakes mind diving even further into the forming rabbit hole.

"Arguing with Eric, about a crisis forming in Boreal''. Nova's memory vividly portrays the series of events.
