Gene System

Blake is a young man who has had to suffer through devastation over and over again losing more than just an arm. With no power of his own he could barely stand a chance against others or even be deemed useful by the military. All he can do is accept his sister's help bitterly knowing he can't return it to the same effect. After a series of events a meeting with near death shocks him to his very core changing his life forever. Awakening a hidden element buried deep within his genetic code. The Gene System, an advanced complex genetic technology used to expand and improve the overall potential and direction of evolution for the user's genetic code naturally mapping out and directing where the user should go with the growth they obtain. Not much else is known, only that few on every planet are given one through unknown means. The current state of the world is racked with unbridled chaos as the military fruitless attempts to stop the atrocities committed by the organisation known as the Gene hunters. Seeking to steal and splice any genetic data they can get their hands on by whatever psychotic means whether it be dissection, slow harvesting or cloning ethics are not a concern. Hundreds of thousands have been affected by the gene hunters including Blake's family. Some are never seen again, just used as cows for genetic harvesting over and over again until they dried up never to see their families again. Changes have begun to sprout in the background of earth leading to more and more mysterious events occurring, genetic powers becoming stronger, animals becoming mutated and evolving faster than normal generational lines. All the while in the background an unknown force beyond human comprehension lurks just beyond the veil waiting patiently for the time to run out and indulge in his planet level feast devouring all life in sight. Blake will give his all to overcome these brutal circumstances by whatever means. No matter the pain, suffering or loss he will continue to go forward no matter the cost. Failure isn't a devastation but a stepping stone in his larger goal. In his pursuit to build his strength he wont forget where he came from guarding the weak as someone who grew from that. Seeing the lack of care or acknowledgement to the majority viewed as weak in the military disdain makes him step up as the leader needed to change the structure of this world for the better. In the weak there is strength which Blake knows all too well. His reason to go forward is to become the man he wants to be. The only thing that truly terrifies is the idea of letting it all go, giving up and betraying himself and his potential.

Revelation

"I've never seen this happen before, nor did i think it possible" Frantic scanning of information, Nova thoroughly checks the genetic information.

"I don't understand, this is unprecedented" Confusion fills his electronic voice.

"Mind filling me in on what's so shocking"? Intrigue fills him on how drastic the change he went through was.

"You've somehow managed to integrate Aurorian genes into your body" Bewilderment flows through his speech as he struggles to even pronounce the race's name.

"What the hell even is an Aurorian" Intrigue and curiosity clash within Blakes mind.

"That's the only tagline in the local database, I've never even heard of an Aurorian myself" Nova's devouring curiosity begins to get irritated at the lack of results.

Zooming in at a microscopic level, the imagery and data flow into his artificial mind "Your DNA strands are electrified, coated in it even" Peering closer at the unique piece of DNA before him thousands of theories pour in.

"I think this is an effect of the Aurorian genes altering your physiological structure, drastically at that. Your old composition couldn't hold a power, but whatever happened to you granted you the ability to now". Nova Frantically absorbs all the images shooting through his database.

"It's strange this is an entirely different way of gaining a power. Usually it is inherited naturally and slowly awakened over time in a variety of methods. DNA never strays far from the normal structure of humans". Nova organizes an updated folder in his database of Blake, through his astonishment

"For you it was different, having no power allowed a blank canvas in which these genes could emerge. If you did have a power, this would have never happened, take that as you will".

"Whatever happened to you must have influenced the emergence of this power, with the help of the integrated genes your body could finally hold one". Nova's virtual cogs begin to spin at this information.

"Your body itself is generating its own bio energy from this change, fascinating really". Nova says processing information nano seconds at a time.

"Think i can pinpoint the influence of this power" Blakes arm crackles at the memory of the lightning, the almighty force of the heavens searing into his soul.

"There was a storm recently, a violent one at that". Shuddering from the recollection of events, playing the film of memory throughout his mind

"I was struck by that storm, I think that might be the influence for this power to manifest". Blakes lichtenberg scar starts to glow green static dancing throughout its branching marks.

Stepping out of the chamber now, the familiar behaviour manifests itself again. Blakes electro limb manifesting itself. He starts to seal all the fresh wounds with his searing static.

''I didn't even think about that''. His awareness not being present for the behavior, leaves Blake in a state of internal horror.

''What is happening to me'' His past self had been crumbling piece by piece over time from recent events. However now an electrified smile breaks through the identity of Blake's ego deep within his subconscious.

''Am i even Blake anymore'' His mind puts awareness on autopilot at the earth shattering information. Protecting his brain from the oncoming change.

"I think it's changed more than my body" Fear refuses to bubble once more a vice grip throttles his forming emotion. Stopping any from surfacing.

"That is possible, powers have a variety of effects on humans in general, some are yet unknown". Photo after photo is stored away in Blakes file, theories to do with its development and future evolution all being written down in an organized space in his mind.

"Who knows you could have a demon forming within you, some offshoot of your personality taking shape and space in your mind". A theory starts to piece itself together in Nova's artificial mind. Processing all the recent events and behavior's Blakes displaying. A series of thought strands paints a probable answer.

"Lovely this certainly comes with its perks, How would i even begin to figure that out" His humor starts to bubble forth to allow his mind to ease.

"That's your job kid, welcome to life. It will change rapidly before your very eyes, Ordinary has become more unique in this generation" Nova's bottomless experiences reflecting in his wisdom.

Finishing his side task in the background, dissatisfaction coats his tone. "Nothing, nothing came up from the planet net neither Aurorian nor system related. I'll have to find a way to infiltrate the military net. There has to be some old code lying around so I can engineer an outside connection of the planet. Maybe then we can get something concrete"

"You bring some interesting mysteries to solve Blake. I haven't been this consumed by my intrigue since Eric was still around". Memories of the past surfaces within his database of memory.

"You said this place was fully equipped" Blakes mind flooded with possibilities.

"Yes, I did. Something you want to use" Nova's amusement over the childlike curiosity gets the better of him.

"Do you have a workshop?" Upgrades and new inventions start to form in his mind. Creativity flowing like a river. Sketches already drawing themselves out.

"We do, Eric always made sure to have it fully stocked for any idea that came to mind. Should still be as he left it". Nova's literal photographic memory showing him the last depiction of his master at work in his favorite room.

"Why don't you show me to it and tell me all about you and dads relationship" Blakes arms find their way behind his back as he starts to urge Nova along. His intrigue gets the better of him despite the past.

"A trip down memory lane. It was like yesterday for me. But for you humans it's different. Sure Blake i'll tell you all about it". Nova's understanding of humanity becomes more and more 3 dimensional with each new interaction.

Another planet within Earth's solar system

A being composed entirely of turquoise plasma taps on an ornate table. The regality of the room suffocates any common kind daring to enter.

"Why does this connection feel so familiar? A warmth enters the beings mind after finally noticing the dim green erratic energy.

"It's far too dim to be one of our kind and yet it's not fully human". Astonishment fills the plasma of this entity.

"It's a hybrid" Chaos floods her, the farthest to reach impossibility actually happening.

"This shouldn't exist. How is this human even holding together? If a hybrid normally forms, madness awaits them from the clashing genetic lines, that's how they died out and ended up outlawed. Especially after that catastrophe on humanity". The history of their kind flashes forward throughout the glowing plasma.

"Those genes shouldn't even be there let alone awakened, what in the world is going on. This human's mind will cannibalise itself from the new forming ego, i don't know how they will survive". A mournful expression forms in the flowing water-like plasma.

"It's a death sentence".
