Tóm tắt

Many strange phenomena have been happening in Yin City. Li Ang—whose alias is Li Risheng—becomes embroiled in an absolute real game of life-and-death, known as Killing Field. Using his above average analytical and deductive skills, he completes different quests assigned by the system, such as eliminating supernatural beings or solving cases, while trying to unravel the true nature of the game.

Chapter 1Chapter 1 The Whale's Fall

At the end of summer, as the night deepened, several police cars were parked downstairs of Building Seven in the Wanhe Residential Area, with blue and white police isolation tapes circling around the entrance of the building. Two detectives stood inside the police line, blocking the curious gazes peering into the isolated area.

On the second floor, Room 208, personnel from the Criminal Technology Department had all arrived. The crime scene photographers were capturing the overall condition of the scene, the Trace Examination Group was checking fingerprints, footprints, and other special traces inside the room, while the Physical and Chemical Biological Inspection Group was responsible for collecting blood, tissue from the corpse, and other biological evidence.

In order to avoid destroying potential evidence, the officers constructed a temporary pathway using dozens of palm-sized, fast-pass boards in areas without footprints, leading to the body lying on the living room floor.

Two forensic scientists, clothed in isolation gear, were squatting beside the body. One was responsible for examining the exterior of the corpse, while the other was recording on a human body chart and capturing the verbal recording.

"Zhang Cuilian, female, 67 years old, body length 162cm, normally developed, with average nutrition, skin color dark yellow, postmortem lividity in purple-red color located at the back part of the head, neck, back, sacral area, and underneath the limbs not under pressure, does not blanch under pressure, abdomen shows postmortem greening...."

"Meow meow meow"

"Bark bark"

The intermittent calls of cats and dogs were also incorporated into the forensic scientists' verbal recordings.

Zhang Cuilian had kept three cats and four dogs which, in the two days following her death, had greatly destroyed the traces at the scene. The young officers from the Physical and Chemical Biological Inspection Group had a hard time confining the cats and dogs into cages—these pets could also be considered "biological evidence".

Officer Wang, who had over twenty years of experience on the force, automatically ignored the noise at the scene. He stood in front of the bookshelf in the living room, gently picking up a photo frame from the shelf.

In the photo, Zhang Cuilian was standing with her husband and son, her smile serene. She had meticulously permed her half-white short hair and was wearing a glaze-blue shirt with a bird and floral pattern and capri pants. Earrings, necklace, ring—she had all the accessories.

She was a lady with great poise, yet fate had not been kind to her. Her husband had died of myocardial infarction a few years ago, her son also died unexpectedly, and now, she herself had also....

Officer Wang put down the photo frame, turned around, and looked towards the living room.

The body once known as "Zhang Cuilian" lay sprawling in a "big" character shape on the floor. The dried-up bloodstains, with the corpse at the center, radiated outward, occupying most of the living room floor with a dark red color, like a crudely made, ugly ink painting.

Large areas of muscle tissue were missing from the limbs of the corpse, and only the stark white bones remained in the palms and soles of the feet. The fingers and toes had completely vanished.

Even more eerie was the fact that the entire face of the corpse, including the eyes, had completely disappeared, leaving only the frontal bone, zygomatic bone, and the lower jaw still attached with a thin layer of muscle, leaving nothing but dark, empty eye sockets staring at the ceiling.

No face, no skin.

Officer Wang exhaled a cloudy breath. The mutilated corpse before his eyes reminded him of something,

Uneaten pickled pepper chicken feet.

This association made him feel nauseated, and he stepped on the temporary bridge to leave Room 208, heading downstairs to smoke.

Most of the residents in the Wanhe Residential Area are old men and women who had been relocated here due to demolition. They stood outside the isolation tape, their curiosity to spectate not in the least doused by the drizzle.

"I heard it was Sister Zhang from the second floor who had an accident, right?"

"Yeah, she was pitiable, living on her own. If it weren't for the neighbor across the hall who couldn't stand the stench that drifted over and complained to the property management, I'm afraid no one would have known she had passed away...."

"Ah, people are such ephemeral beings, here one moment, gone the next. I went shopping with her before; she seemed fine at that time. How could she suddenly be gone, I wonder what happened...."

Inside the police line, Officer Wang silently listened to the chatter, lowered his head to light a cigarette, and couldn't help feeling somewhat disappointed.

The deceased hardly ever participated in the community activities for the elderly within the residential area. She had a narrow social circle and a low social frequency; the knowledge of the surrounding masses about the deceased was not substantial.

"Maybe it was diabetes."

In the crowd, a youth with a backpack and clutching a box of chive pockets said softly, "To be precise, it was a myriad of complications caused by Type 2 diabetes."

Hmm?

Officer Wang suddenly looked up, "Who are you?"

The ordinary high school student named Li Ang smiled, "I am a successor of communism, a delicate flower of the motherland, a red scarf who does good deeds without leaving a name."

Who's asking you that?

Officer Wang, a bit annoyed, glanced at Li Ang, "Do you know her?"

Li Ang replied, "I don't know her, but I saw her walking her dog when I was playing badminton downstairs in the residential area before."

"How do you know she has diabetes?"

"I guessed."

Li Ang said casually, "At that time, I saw she had a bulky figure, a rosy complexion, dry skin, sluggish and feeble steps, swelling in the lower legs and feet, swollen fingers, ulcerative sores on her arms, droopy eyelids and recurring traces of eyelid scabies,

so I guessed she had diabetes, even advised her to watch her diet, take her medicine on time, keep exercising, and seek hospital treatment as soon as possible, but alas...."

Having said that, Li Ang shook his head.

The surrounding crowd cast odd glances at Li Ang, and Officer Wang couldn't help but draw on his cigarette, "Kid, did you study medicine?"

"When I was young, I had constipation, and the doctor said a drop of enema would do, but I poured the entire bottle on the stool, and it still didn't help."

Li Ang spoke calmly, "After that, I read some medical books and taught myself."

Kid, you really have an exceptional talent, aren't you a bit of a fool?

Li Ang, looking with a hint of envy at the police uniform Officer Wang was wearing, said, "Officer, I've always wanted to be a glorious people's policeman. For that, I often go to comic book stores to read Detective Conan to improve my investigative skills, and I even use a pencil to mark who the criminal is on the comic books,

Last time, I acted heroically in the amusement park and wrestled with a suspected thief for over two hours before the park manager kicked me off the carousel."

Officer Wang's eye twitched; there were many points to criticize, but he didn't know where to start, so he just stubbed out his cigarette and turned to walk towards Building Seven.

"The windows of 208 on the second floor, they don't seem to be open," Li Ang looked up and said casually, "I wonder what those cats and dogs that Sister Zhang raised have been eating for the past two days."

Hmm?

Officer Wang's footsteps paused.

Li Ang continued as if no one else were present, "If Sister Zhang fainted due to acute diabetic complications, her pets would have sensed something wrong with their owner and would likely have tried to wake her by licking her skin."

"Sadly, their attempts to awaken their owner were unsuccessful, and the cats and dogs became agitated after licking the skin and tasting blood. Plus, with no one to feed them, the pets began to search for something to eat on their own."

"For instance... their owner."

"Generally speaking, an unprotected and soft, boneless face is usually eaten first, and the easily nibbled fingers, toes, forearms, and lower leg areas are also targets."

Unperturbed by the odd looks from the bystanders, Li Ang simply smiled as he said,

"When whales die in the ocean, their bodies sink to the ocean floor, ultimately providing food for marine life such as blind eels, clams, and blind shrimp. Biologists have named this process 'whale fall.' It's the last tenderness a whale leaves to the sea."

"The cycle of life and death goes on as usual...."

Tempest of the Stellar War

He helped deliver a friend's love letter... and fell into a lake becoming infamous for dying for love! His very first gift... warped him into a brutal training simulation! However he perserved through all these trials! Our Dear Student Wang Zheng has finally started his lucky(?) university life! This is the song of a blood boiling and exciting storm! The most ferocious and heated mecha adventure around is finally here! TL Note: This is a novel about doing the impossible, seeing the invisible. Follow along for a ride across the universe! TL;DR: Not Shakespeare, not complex, but fun and easy to read. Come support! As the translator, I've enjoyed translating this novel and I hope to bring the essence of what the author has tried to portray into the chapters you will read. To sum it up in 3 words: Mechs! Explosions! Science! To be perfectly honest, this novel is about your typically overpowered protagonist who does get looked down from time to time but always overcomes the odds with his own special power. He's abit more mature having grown up on his own and just a littttttttle bit dense. Although it always ends up with him winning, it always happens in an interesting (subjective) and fun way that makes me enjoy reading this. The novel has elements of lighthearted comedy from time to time and I do chuckle at how direct the humor is. It's not as smart as say WMW nor does it weave an intricate story much like Ergen's novels. More importantly, its fun and it doesn't try to hide it.

Upon awakening, he discovers that his transmigrations were no coincidences and is now in possession of the Crafts-God System, a system dedicated to creating a new successor to the deceased Crafts-God, who is an existence with the ability to create anything and everything. Lucas decides to fulfill the goal of the system and become the new Crafts-God, but he's faced with an incredulous challenge; he can't learn magic. @@@@@@@@@ Special Note: The system might appear as controling in the first few chapters, but don't let this get to you. I've attached a few explanations for this in the comment section. There would be at least one chapter daily at either: 11pm-12am GMT 6pm-7pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) 12am-1am WAT and CEST (West African Time and Central European Time) 6am-7am ICT (IndoChina Time) 8:30am-9:30am ACT (Australian Central Time) or 4pm GMT 5pm WAT and CEST (West African Time and Central European Time) 11am EST (Eastern Standard Time) 11pm ICT (IndoChina Time) 1:30am ACT (Australian Central Time) If there are extra/bonus chapters, it would also be uploaded during these times. Ashes Of Deep Sea

Duncan Abnomar was transmigrated to a magical world. Most of the lands of the world had sunken, and the surviving humans could only live on islands. Due to an unknown reason, the world was also contaminated and strange phenomena and things would randomly appear. Humans had developed steam gear technology, and the islands were connected through boats. They survived by studying strange phenomena that happened all around the world. However, as the captain of a scary-looking ghost ship, Duncan was facing a huge challenge. "How the heck do I steer this ship?" Highly recommended by experienced editor: MC is transmigrated to a world mostly covered in water and far from civilization. He becomes the captain of the ghost ship, the 'Homeloss'. He steers through the fog and adventures through the broken world and the unknown deep sea. As he discovers the ruins of abandoned civilization, he would also stumble into the war between the strange phenomena and the devil gods. The story takes place in a combination of ocean and Chutly mythology world, a new and interesting background. It’s an attractive story to read due to the author’s sense of humor and mastery over the ambiance of the story. --------------- Another-style introduction: "On that day, a thick fog engulfed everything. On that day, he became the captain of a ghost ship. On that day, he crossed the dense fog and faced a completely overturned and shattered world – the former order was completely gone, and peculiar phenomena dominated the endless seas beyond civilized society. The island city-states and the fleets challenging the sea have become the only lights of civilization left, while the shadows of old days still lurk in the deep sea, waiting to devour this dying world again. But for the new captain, there's only one pressing question – Does anyone know how to sail this damn ship?!"

My God..this story is amazing. I know my review is long but please read it as I give a basic summary of every subject. I truly believe that this is the best of the current trial reads. My review also contains spoilers, rather than checking the mark for spoilers, I left it open because I know a lot of people will completely ignore a real review if they believe it has to many spoilers. The spoilers included only mention the changes in World Background compared to our Real Earth. I mentioned these spoilers because I believe they are one of the main selling points of this novel and will likely be a reason people choose to read or not. I’ve literally never given a review for a trial read because the good ones are either the last to come out or never come out at all. Translation Quality: Translation quality is perfect as far as I can tell. I’m not exactly an English major but I’ve read plenty of books and the grammar seems fine as well. Stability Updating: Obviously I can’t rate stability updating because it’s a trial read with a limit of 60 chapters until it’s voted through. Story Development: The background plot has already been partially explained as far as Chapter 13. The World’s advancements have all been set forth by a mysterious system. I’ll further explain this in world background. Everything seems fine so far and there hasn’t been any plot holes and everything has been explained in ways that actually make sense. Historic moments are explained in a paranormal sense that keeps you interested. The system is not introduced until certain things occur and there are restrictions on who receives the system and why it exist. Character Development: The MC is an eccentric genius and the author has developed him literally perfectly. The MC goes beyond your usual “smart MC”, though he acts quite weird at times, it’s explained that because he is so weird, he has learned many things with his higher than normal intelligence. If you read the first chapter you’ll completely understand what I mean, his actions and words in the first chapter alone; do well to show off his characteristics and personality. Other than the MC, not many people have been mentioned as far as Chapter 13 but those that were; were shown quite well. By that I mean they all had clear stories and they don’t give you the usual feel of a random side character that’ll be thrown away later. World Background: The story seems to be set in current time Earth. Everything has some odd twist set forth by the system I mentioned in Story Development. It’s explained that all evolutionary advancements have been set forth by the system as of now. The system sets forth “games” called “Killing Fields”. In this games, the system chooses either a large scale or small scale field depending on the current advancements of the world. It chooses its initial players for specific reasons that haven’t been completely stated but seem reasonable. Human evolution is an aspect created by the system. Many races have gone extinct due to punishment from the system when it finds the game to not be helping the race advance. Dinosaurs are one of the races punished by the system. Humans while not extinct, have also been punished by the system. All of this explained as real moments in history with a paranormal twist. Again, please vote for this story when it comes time, I truly believe it’s the best of the current trial reads.
