My first ever try at writing a story, so it's gonna be bad. But I would like to become a better writer so i would appreciate any helpful advice or criticism. Anyway, it's a Overlord SI/OC story. A guy dies, gets 1 wish and then gets thrown into a world he seems unfamiliar with. Now it's time for his great adventure. English is my third Language. I write on a phone. And my Internet connection is bad. So if you think there's something wrong with the fic, it's not my fault XD I do not own Overlord or the characters mentioned in the story. I do not own the cover photo. I only own The OC.
I died.
I am dead.
I am not alive anymore.
Dying. A new experience for sure. But it was a nice, painless death.
I was skydiving. It was always my dream to try this atleast once. I had recently earned some good cash, so i went on a vacation. While i was having lunch in a restaurant, i heard some people talking about their skydiving trip. Hearing them i remembered about my dream and wanted to fullfill it. So I did just that.
I interrupted the group talking about their trip and asked if I could join. It was a pretty weird and careless thing to do. They could have been dangerous people that might have left me dead in some alleyway.
But they were actually pretty chill people. Their group mostly consisted of people from age 25 to 30. Just around my age. I am 28 myself.
2 boys and 3 girls. All working class people like me and on vacation as well.
They agreed to include me in their group. We talked for some time, then went to do a little shopping and then later watched a movie together. We became friends pretty quick.
All was going well, until it wasn't. The skydiving trip didn't go as expected.
As I was falling down from 13000 feet high, I was feeling so much happiness, I couldn't describe it in words. It felt awesome. I felt like a bird flying high in the sky. And the view up here was soo beautiful.
But a small problem arose when it was time to open the parachute. It didn't open. The parachute had one job to do and it couldn't even do it properly. I tried pulling the emergency handle but even that didn't work. I was doomed to die.
The others that jumped didn't notice anything as we jumped one after another with small time gaps. We were pretty far away from each other. It was pretty hard to see the others from my position, so they also couldn't properly see me.
But I had to wonder if they could do anything even if they noticed me. Could they grab me and save me like some kind of action movie was going on?
Would they even try? We just recently met each other. We became friends quickly but we aren't close enough to risk our lives saving each other.
Or maybe one of them didn't like me or is just a psychopath and somehow made my parachute faulty. Who knows?
I don't have much longer to live. So I shouldn't waste my little time thinking useless stuff. I should just enjoy my last moment and wish I don't somehow survive.
Cause if I, by sone miracle, survive after such a fall, I would definitely be crippled for life. Or maybe even be in a coma for the rest of my life. And that's horrifying to even think about. Death is better.
Since i was going to die anyway, i wanted to go out in style (Chuunibyou alert). So i pulled back my hand and got ready to punch the planet. I stared shouting about how i was gonna destroy the planet with this punch. As i neared the ground, i shouted and punched with all my strength. And then there was darkness.
After my death i woke up in some kind of dark void. Completely naked and unharmed. There was darkness all around, not a single speck of light. I could barely see my own body. I couldn't see anything else.
As i was thinking about my current situation, i suddenly saw a speck of light from the corner of my eyes. Seeing the light i started to go towards it. Cause what else could I do?
I didn't know what I was walking on. It felt liquid and solid at the same time. Like slime? Weird. But it wasn't time to wonder about such stuff.
As i kept going towards it, it's image became clearer. It was a white, shiny door floating in the middle of nowhere. So i opened it. It's not like i can do anything else here. So even if this door looks suspicious, i went through it. On the other side of the door, there was a small white room with nothing but a table and 2 chairs in the middle of the room.
As i was staring at the table, i suddenly heard a voice. It was a childish and cheerful voice. I looked towards where the sound came from and saw a being that looked likes a 12 year old boy. He didn't look human became of his Unnatural pale skin, like a Barbie doll.
He had white hair and beautiful blue eyes. He also had some kind of golden aura around him. He looked towards me and said:
"Welcome lucky child, you have won the chance to get Reincarnated or transmigrated to a random world you know about. You will also get 1 wish. You have been chosen out of 1 trillion souls to get this chance. Aren't you a lucky one?"
I was a little stunned because of his sudden appearance and i was stunned once more hearing what he said. Getting reincarnated, getting wishes, those are things i had only read in fanfictions. I never thought something like that would truly happen to me. It was unbelievable, but i wanted it to be true. So i asked
"You are telling the truth, right? You aren't some evil sadistic demon who is getting my hopes up by saying all those sweet things only to later tell me they were a lie and watch me get heartbroken, right?"
Hearing me the white haired being asked:
"Are you alright in the head? Did the fall damage your brain? Why are you asking those idiotic questions? Now stop wasting time. Lets get started with your wishes."
He said that and sat down on one chair while asking me to sit on the other. While i didn't totally believe what he said, i sat down in front of him as anyway. After sitting down i started asking some questions about this whole situation.
"So what are you?"
"I am a God of Reincarnation. I reincarnate people randomly from time to time and watch some of their adventure for entertainment."
"So I will get reincarnated to a random world with one wish? So are there any limitations on what I wish for?"
"Yes, you will get reincarnated randomly in one world you have read in comics and novels, or played games about. But you can't reincarnate in your own world. And as for wishes, they have a few limitations. You can't wish for more wishes, you can't make a list full of wishes and ask make that list of wishes come true. And there are some other limitations but let's not waate any time for now. Most wishes don't contradict with those rules anyway"
"Okay. So what if i wish for Omnipotence? Will i seriously become the strongest?"
"No. As Omnipotence means you will be the strongest, even stronger than me, which is not possible for me to grant. Even i am not Omnipotent. If you wish for that you will only be the strongest in the world you choose."
"It's pretty good i guess. And how strong are you exactly?"
"Haha, that's a question that I get asked a lot. In terms you can understand, I am a multiverse level being. While i am not the strongest in existence, I could create or destroy a universe easily."
"Damn. That's OP. Could I reach that level of power one day?" I asked hopefully. Being able to destroy mountains with a punch or killing hordes of enemies with a single spell. Getting such power is every Otaku/Weeb/Chunibyo's dream.
"You certainly can become as strong as me. Maybe even stronger. It will depend on your wish. I have reincarnated thousands of souls and only 2 has ever gotten close to being as strong as me. Maybe you will be the first to become stronger then me? " The white haired God Replied while smiling at me.
"Is that so? Then I have to wish carefully. My first wish is....."
