CHAPTER 113

Catherine had been calculating her budget for groceries and Alice's medication when she heard a sound knock on the door , she ignored and concentrated back on her calculations. Thankfully her husband left a trust fund for the girls therefore she wouldn't go broke trying to save alice from leukemia she thought warily but the knock sounded again disrupting her from her thoughts.

Springing up with a frown she walked towards the door "By God if it's any of alice's friend that had flooded her doorstep recently all in the name of wanting to make sure alice was fine,she would give that particular person a piece of her mind she breathed. Catherine had felt broken and still feels that way any time she remembered her precious daughter had been hurt by her boyfriend, she knew they were teenagers and susceptible to breakups and failures but she felt she could have protected alice better but the deed has been done.

Shoving the door open she stared into the eyes of the most green pupil she had ever seen before, the protest in her throat died down and she could only stand and stare at the boy in front of her porch looking uncomfortable as hell.

" Hi ma'am my name is jimny a friend of Nana " He greeted softly cursing his bad luck for meeting their mom , he had hoped that the subject of his thoughts would be the one to open the door but alas.

" Hey jimny you have a lovely set of eyes " She commented.

Jiminy smiled widely and brushed the back of his head with his hands " Oh this was going quite well " He thought to himself blushing, he had been really skeptical about coming but at the end of the day he couldn't control his desire to see her considering what transpired at her birthday party he had needed to know she was fine else he wouldn't have peace.

" Did Nana send you here with a message? " Catherine asked noticing he was lost in thoughts.

" Uhm no I'm actually here to see - ayra no i mean alice " .

Catherine giggled softly amused at how uncomfortable he seemed at the moment

" Which of my daughters are you here to see exactly young man? " .

" Uhm I'm here to see both of them tsk the thing is I'm not sure alice would want to see me so I planned on using on the pretense of seeing ayra to see her " He explained with lowered eyes hoping he wouldn't be kicked out.

" Hmm I appreciate your honesty, are you from their school? " .

" No I stay in Nana's neighborhood and got acquainted when they came visiting. " He replied surprised she's still speaking to him calmly.

" Oh I think I recall ayra mentioning your name, come on in I will let alice know you're here " She said ushering him in.

" Thank you ma'am " .

She brushed his gratitude away " Apart from the fact that I love your honesty a friend of Nana is a friend of ours too . Just a moment " .

Catherine was greatly surprised at alice reaction when she informed her about her guest , she had dropped her phone with a start hurriedly changed into new set of pants and tank tops, untied her hair from its ponytail, applied lip gloss then proceeds to leave her room without uttering a word.

Alice held herself back and walked slowly to the living room " What kept him for so long? I have been expecting him to visit like forever " She questioned herself watching as ayra laughed at something he said.

" Hi Alice " Ayra greeted loudly " Look who I found here ,its green eyes " She teased smiling at her sister.

" Yeah ayra I have eyes I can see him " Alice muttered gluing her eyes on him " Please can you give us a moment? " .

" Of course, hey Jiminy you ain't allowed to argue with alice today " She ordered walking off.

" I wouldn't dare this is her territory, she would probably slash me into two if I tried " He muttered beneath his breath wondering how he got smitten by her. Was it her obvious beauty? But he had seen a lot of attractive girls so what's different about her?He questioned himself .

" Why are you here Jiminy? " Alice began cooly.

" Do you realize this is the first time you are addressing me by my name " .

" That's not the answer to my question " .

" Alright you seem to be in a hurry I won't waste more of your precious time " I'm here to be certain you ain't crying your pretty eyes off over some jerkass " .

" I am Alice!!! I don't cry over boys its the other way round " .

" That's a relief not that I care or anything jus- " .

" Drop the act I know you like me " Alice stated standing really close to him .

A myriad of emotions flicked through his face shock, fear and another emotion she couldn't dicpher. " Huh? " He mouthed at last.

" Am I wrong? " She questioned with a raised eyebrow.

" How? Shit Ali- gosh I'm speechless " He couldn't place a coherent sentence neither could he keep a tab on his spiraling thoughts. " How long have you known? " .

" I found out on my birthday " . She continued primly enjoying his squirming

" Gosh I thought I had my facial expressions concealed properly " He groaned.

" Obviously not and I have not seen a male who's not obsessed with me " She replied imperiously.

" Look Alice I didn't mean for you to find out I know you just got burned plus the fact you detest my ass means I'm off limits. We are just gonna pretend you don't know and go back to being enemies " He said not wanting to hear her reject him herself.

" Look Jiminy ,Troy didn't break my heart just injured my pride and I don't detest you, yeah you annoy me so much that I want to pluck your green eyes out but I also figured I can't breathe properly when you ain't near me and I haven't got enough time to waste on games "

Following her little speech he grabbed her and pecked her on the mouth and only realized what he did when his mouth touched her soft ones and he froze on the spot.

" What you ain't gonna stop now are you? " Allice questioned before tugging his mouth down to hers and kissed him deeply.

They only stopped locking lips to catch their breath while laughing heartily " God your lips are addictive Alice " .

" I know " She replied happier than ever.

He tugged her cute nose " So did you like my flowers? "

Alice frowned before her eyes widened in recollection " Oh my they were from you? " She screamed feeling the urge to cry and laugh at the same time .

" I loved them, absolutely adored them. You should have written your name in the card " She chastised.

" And risk rejection from you? Hell my heart can't take that plus I really enjoyed fighting with you" He teased.

" Me too I looked forward to your visit to Nana's house " She said softly.

Unable to contain his happiness he simply embarrassed her tightly enjoying the feel of her in his arms. " Please let's stay like this forever " .

" Of course I'm not about to let you move an inch from me but first I have something to tell you " She added slowly.
