Leaving The Slums

Almost an hour later, the old lady was settled inside her ward. It was a VIP ward. Seeing the grandeur of it, she felt uncomfortable all over.

But Ariel ignored all her grumblings. She was quietly observing the nurse behaviour until now and was quite satisfied to see that the nurse was considerate of her grandmother's comfort.

When Ariel went to drink water, the nurse came to her and said

"Miss Ariel, Madam Ines had told me that you should appear at this address by twelve in the afternoon with everything she gave you."

The nurse passed her a slip and Ariel took it silently.

Ines has only sent a wedding dress for her. Ariel nodded her head. It was already eleven so she must leave as soon as possible.

Ariel went back to the ward to see her grandmother for one last time.

"I am leaving Grandma."

The old lady was fumbling with TV remote but stopped upon hearing these words.

"Ohh...yes...you need to leave as well."

Her eyes clearly looked unwilling to send Ariel away but she nodded her head.

"Take care of yourself. Have your meals on time. Try to find a good guy and date him."

Ariel smiled as she listened to all the instructions. Suddenly, she leaned down and hugged the old lady.

"I will try to visit in between sometimes."

The old lady finally let the tears fall down her eyes. Her hands and voice trembled as she patted Ariel's shoulder and spoke

"Good...Good child! Grandma would be waiting for you. Go now."

And just like that, Ariel stepped away and left the ward.

The old lady continued looking at the ward door as if Ariel would come back running after few moments.

Her eyes went teary again and she covered her face with her hands.

God must look out for her Ariel....

Ariel went back to the slum area.

When she was about to walk towards the broken hut where she had hid the wedding dress, she saw Aunt Stella looking towards herself. Ariel thought of something and walked towards Aunt Stella.

She told her that she had admitted the old lady in the hospital for treatment and she would be leaving for another city soon. Aunt Stella heard everything patiently.

When by the end of conversation, Ariel asked her to take care of their hut in their absence, she agreed enthusiastically.

Before leaving, Ariel even gave her some money to pay Ivan's school monthly fees. Though Aunt Stella tried her best to refuse, Ariel didn't listen to her and walked away.

When Ariel again appeared with the huge box in her hands, Aunt Stella only thought that it might be Ariel's luggage that she is taking to another city and smiled amicably at

Ariel.

Ariel then went back to her own hut and put some of her dresses inside her bag. Few minutes later, she finally left for the address given to her by the nurse.

When Ariel appeared at her destination, Ines was already waiting there for her.

Seeing her stepping down from the taxi, Ines' eyes flashed with panic and she immediately walked to Ariel while looking around.

"Cover your face. Why did you come in a taxi? What if someone saw? They will blame us that Mintz daughter is coming to her own wedding venue in a taxi."

Ariel didn't say anything. She didn't care about all this. It was not her task to manage all this.

Seeing her indifferent attitude, Ines sighed to herself.

It was her fault. She should have sent a car knowing the gravity of the circumstances. Fortunately, Henry didn't know about all this.

Hurriedly, she took Ariel inside through the back door of the building.

Inside a room, almost three to four girls were already waiting.

One of them took the box from Ariel's hands while Ines instructed the girls.

"Get her ready. They will start in an hour or so. You tried the wedding dress, right?"

While saying the last sentence, Ines was looking at Ariel who shrugged her shoulders making the latter look at her with wide eyes.

"What does that mean now?! Did you try or not?"

"I didn't."

Ariel said casually making Ines feel as if her blood pressure was going incredibly high. Sensing the tension, one of the girls stepped forward and said

"It's okay, Mrs. Miller. We will try our best to manage if there was any problem."

Ines could only nod her head and trust those girls as she patted her chest to calm herself down.

This girl....she could make her die in anger!

Knowing this, she left the room to look at other arrangements.

After she left, Ariel was dragged to sit down on the chair placed in front of the dressing table while all the make up artists surrounded her.
