Renna did not want the old man to get into trouble because of her, the lady was well aware that due to her stay there at his house would only bring the old man and his family trouble.
"Ahh, yes, yes aunt."
And the door closed behind them, opposite to their house where the old couple was sitting outside...nodded at each other meaningfully wearing a serious expression on their faces.
"Morris, dear Morris...how did you get injured like this?"
The old lady supported her husband by wrapping his arm around the shoulder, while Renna Amaryllis held his other arm.
Both of the women nearly dragged the old cab driver into the lounge, while Mr Morris wriggled and staggered in their embrace.
He turned his head around to cast a look at Renna and found the lady smiling meaningfully, the stunned poor soul immediately shifted his gaze.
Maybe the man was aware that he should not attempt anything if he wanted Renna to spare his head.
"Come, sit here."
Cara directed Morris towards the sofa, while Renna Amaryllis silently mimicked the old lady.
"Ah, slowly, slowly Morris. You are not young now, man!"
As soon as Mr Morris plopped down in the sofa, his wife bombarded scolding at him.
Renna stepped back a little and shrugged while glancing at the old cab driver, as if perhaps she was hinting him that the scolding part was totally unprepared and definitely was not her doing.
Cara, the old woman was glaring at her husband with hands tucking on her navel above hips. Renna giggled inwardly but genuinely after seeing the lovely couple.
"Unbelievable, Morris!"
Cara scoffed and rolled her eyes along with lifting her hands up into the air, when she suddenly realized that her husband did not come back home alone.
"Uh? I'm sorry, I- I just forgot about you dear. Come have a seat."
Cara gestured to her and Renna followed immediately with a warm smile.
The petite healthy old lady seemed innocent just like her husband and gave off warm, home like vibes. Renna could not help but to feel as if she was back at home, drifting back into memories but soon the picture of the past became tainted with black ink.
Renna clenched her fists while her arms rested on the arm set of the sofa, Cara's concerned voice pricked her ears and she was forcefully jerked back into the present.
"My dear, I'm grateful to you for bringing back Morris."
"I know the old man is kinky but he has a good heart, that is why I married him."
Cara seemed to be a friendly woman as she began to narrate her feelings regarding Morris. Renna could not help but to nod and chuckle at her remarks.
"I hope he did not give you any trouble, huh?"
The old woman turned towards Renna Amaryllis to inquire about her husband.
"N- no, ma'am. Not at all instead uncle saved me from those goons!"
Renna waved carelessly to the woman, she felt that maybe for some time she could go back to normal and enjoy the warmth of home. Thus, she shook off the thoughts but just then Cara realized something.
"Haa! Wait, what did you just say, Morris saved y- you? How?"
Cara could not believe her ears what she just came from Renna's parted lips, the old woman made an O shaped mouth in disbelief.
"Yeah, you know, your husband is not rusty at all instead he fought with those two men bravely!"
Renna giggled and slipped herself towards the edge of the sofa and began to narrate a story, that how heroically Mr Morris saved her back there.
"I do not believe that, dear. Morris?"
The lady turned towards her husband who was sitting in a weary condition but still forced a smile on his face, to prove that whatever Renna just said was true.
"My Morris? This coward man jumped into a quarrel and fought those thugs, all in the attempt to save you?"
Renna could not help but to chuckle out loudly now, at Cara's wide eyes and hanging mouth.
Renna shrugged and nodded while laughing.
"Oh my goodness! I did not know you have this side of yours, Morris. I am so proud of you, my love!"
Cara shifted towards Morris and praised the man with tears in her eyes, as she joined hands together and saw him with utmost love filled in her eyes.
"By the way, honey, are you fine?"
Renna was now under her inquiry session to which she responded with a nod again.
Perhaps, the lady had met with a strong opponent who was a master of words. Cara was indeed a frail old lady yet somehow Renna Amaryllis was put into place by her.
Respect for elders, I would conclude.
"Gladly! Oh my, Morris why are you silent, honey? Don't worry about what had happened out there, just forget it."
Cara waved to her husband, suspecting that he was perhaps disturbed by the incident.
"Oh dear, you must be hungry. Come and have lunch with us, by the way where are you from?"
Cara stood up from the sofa and walked towards the kitchen.
The old lady did not notice or judge Renna by her bold appearance rather offered her a meal, which was Renna's intention to barge into the man's house.
