Enjoying the city (pt 1)

Gyun made a pit stop at a 24 hour inn on his way to the hotel and eating some food. Though the quality wasn't great it tasted amazing to Gyun who had been eating only grain balls for 8 years. He drank some wine but found he no longer liked the taste of it so he elected to have a juice in place of it.

He walked into the hotel, Gyun could immediately tell that it was better then it looked from the street, despite it's average outer appearance. The lobby was fairly large and everything was well maintained, and the desk clerk was well dressed. He approached the desk and the clerk spoke to him as he got closer. "Hello guest and welcome to the Blue River hotel, are you here to stay for the night or longer?". "I would like one of your best rooms for 3 nights please". The clerk nodded "ok we have a suite available on the third floor for you it comes with meals as well, is that okay with you? It will be 1 gold nyang". "Sure" he tossed him two gold nyang's "please inform me if anybody suspicious or important comes here". Gyun was about to walk away but added "get me a meeting with the best blacksmith, and I will give you another gold nyang."

Gyun entered his suite and glanced around the room was quite large, and was well furnished and had a window overlooking the street. -I doubt anybody knows I'm here, but I should still set some protective measures-.

He set some small defensive trap formations at all the possible entryways. He laid down with a heavy sigh. "I forgot how good beds are but these are still crappy compared to the modern worlds beds". He fell into the first deep sleep he'd had in years.

He woke up the next day a few hours after the sun had rose. He meditated for a half hour but stopped and went downstairs to get breakfast. He needed to find someone who was knowledgeable about what had happened in the past few years to inform him. Before he could make any moves to establish himself and a group in Murim. His first choice would be an innkeeper so he informed the desk clerk that if anybody came to find him he'd be at the inn across the street.

He opened the doors to the inn and despite it being relatively early it was already bustling. There were some who turned to look at him and most widened there eyes since his handsome appearance was quite eye catching. Gyun was trying so hard not to smile -I'm so happy I'm handsome now, but I think more then that they're surprised at my age, I thought it was enough to suppress my level to the peak level. I just did it so nobody messed with me and the innkeeper was honest with me, maybe it's too much-.

The inn was momentarily silent as people sized up Gyun but most of them were second rates and civilians or passing merchants. Gyun glanced around but he sensed no hostility only some jealousy. -Good nobody's stupid enough to fight me I thought there might be friction since this neighborhood is high class-. He found the innkeeper who was talking to a smaller hooded figure who was accompanied by two larger hooded figures. -Ooh 3 peak level martial artists, people of their levels are rare-. He used qi sense and he found a faint sense of poison from the individuals. "How interesting" as he waited at a nearby table until the Innkeeper finished his conversation. He gestured to a waiter "give me your breakfast special and a green tea please".

Gyun was enjoying his breakfast when he played with the notion of using his qi sense to listen in on the conversation. "Meh it's not my concern", he sipped his tea. He didn't want to wait for the innkeeper the whole time. So he called the waiter over and passed him 15 silver nyangs "I'd like to meet the innkeeper upstairs and tell him that he should expect to be a while". The waiter nodded, Gyun added "Oh wait and I'd like two cups of green tea as well".

He had been waiting on the empty second floor at a table that overlooked the second floor. Before the innkeeper finally appeared he was an overweight sleazy looking man, he wiped his sweat and gave a slight bow. "I apologize but I was with a customer". Gyun looked him over "it's okay I'm just here for information". The innkeeper smiled "we have plenty of information", Gyun waved his hand "it's not the information your thinking of, so please take a seat we may be here for a while". He placed a sound barrier to keep their conversation private.

The innkeeper looked uncomfortable as he sat down. "What type of information are you looking for exactly?"

Gyun sighed -its best to be partially honest-. "I went into secluded training for a few years to achieve a break through and I plan on joining a mercenary group, but as a mercenary I need to have a grasp on the current happenings and what I missed. So if you could relay all the important events that took place in the past 8 years and any information on current large merchant and mercenary groups."

The merchant stared at him for a moment, he seemed to be calculating the price. He sighed , "information going that far back would be around 15 gold nyangs and I can't promise the accuracy of any information older then 5 years ago". Gyun smiled that's fine as he looked into his large money pouch on his hip. He grabbed 5 gold nyangs from within and set them on the table. "This is all I have at the moment but you'll get the rest of your payment if your information is good".

5 hours later

Gyun was walking out the inn after giving the innkeeper a token to pick up his pay from the bank. He scratched his head, -a lot has happened huh, they even discovered a new continent with knights, but the sword saint, and unorthodox blade lord dying during a dispute, a small war with the demonic cult and the orthodox. Not to mention two of the ten orthodox pillars collapsed and are on the brink and have been replaced by up and comers-. "What a world, I guess anything can happen in murim, huh?."

He had been walking for five minutes towards the center of the city, after he had sensed someone following him he'd used his qi sense to identify them. It was one of the robed figures who was at the peak level from the inn, from the size and the high concentration of yang he guessed the figure was a man. Gyun wanted first to make sure the man wasn't connected with those from the Hao branch he'd wiped out. Though he doubted it since last night when he swept the city with his qi sense during meditation the highest he sensed was 2 masters and 2 peak levels and they were located in the north of the city. Probably from some big sect on their way to the murim alliance for the 'All martial war' matches based off what the innkeeper had told him. -Well since he seems to be alone should I test him- Gyun turned off the main street onto a small alley as soon as he got out of sight he used a more basic movement technique he'd picked up from a visit at the Kunlun sect. He jumped off the walls and scaled the building in time for the pursuer to catch up to him. "There he is" Gyun smiled as he took off towards the closest section of the wall around the city.

-Damn is this guy really this slow? How many times do I have to slow down-. Gyun was almost to the wall after running along the rooftops for 3 minutes, but he kept having to slow down to allow his pursuer who'd lagged behind to catch up. Gyun was annoyed at the lack of trying this guy was giving him "this guy needs motivation" he growled out of annoyance. This time was he jumped off he tore off a 2 roof tiles and infused a small amount of qi and threw them like shurikens as the man jumped to cross to the other building. The man having no option other then to just block them, but both them curved towards his head. Gyun turned around and put 90% of his unsealed qi into his legs as he exploded towards the man. -Should I use a technique, no I might kill him by accident, I'll do just enough to humiliate him-. The man just blocked the tiles as he landed on the edge of the rooftop he breathed harshly for a moment "wait where is that basta-ugh" he had just enough time to look up as he got drop kicked in the solar plexus. He couldn't breathe and as his body folded he lost his footing and he felt him self flying as he bounced of the edge of the roof as he flew to the wall of the building behind him he momentarily lost consciousness. He opened his eyes as he was inches from the ground he thought -I need to warn the young miss- as he crashed in the ground from a 3 story building.

Gyun stared at the man's body from the roof after standing up from his double leg drop kick. "Oh shit I didn't think he'd die from such a joke move" he lightly jumped down and checked his pulse. -Huh he's still alive, I guess regardless of how skilled they are a peak is a peak huh, but who are you- he wondered as he pulled off his hood.
