Chapter 16: Guardian Angel

Jonathan focused on his feet. It was about all that he could manage to focus on to begin with, but it did also help distract him from two things. Firstly, it kept him from looking around, and every time he moved his head, he felt like the world swirled underneath him.

Secondly, it kept the vampire holding him steady out of his direct line of sight.

He could still feel him, however, where Alphonse was holding him. Jonathan’s right arm was over Alphonse’s shoulders, and Alphonse’s left arm was around his back. His hands felt cold, like they had when Jonathan shook them at the office.

He groaned as they came around a corner, moving too quickly for his drunk mind. “I got it! I know where to go,” Jonathan insisted. They stopped for a second, and he looked up briefly, before looking down again. “Where the f*ck am I?”

He remained silent for a moment after this declaration before Alphonse chuckled.

“Whatchu laughin’ at?” Jonathan said angrily, which only made Alphonse laugh harder.
