27. New members

(Next day)

I am currently going to the guild to submit my quest report along with Erza, Cana and aunty with Luna perched atop my shoulder, curiously looking around.

Soon we reached the guild entrance and as I opened the door, someone came flying towards us but I just calmly held out my right hand to catch him as I had already foreseen it and threw him back inside the guild.

My group, with the exception of Erza looked at all this with surprise. I soon took them to the master's office on the first floor.

On the way, we met Laxus and we fistbumped.

He then asked, "Hey El, I heard you went to do some quests. When did you return?" and then greeted my sister, "Hey Erza" and she greeted back "Hi brother Laxus".

"Just returned yesterday night. What about you. What are you up to?" I answered.

"Nothing, just training"

"Nice. Is gramps present in his office?"

"Yeah. Oh, I forgot to ask, but who are they?" He asked gesturing towards mother-daughter duo.

"New members. You can follow us to know more" I told him.

"Sure, I am free anyways" he replied.

I introduced him, "Aunty, Cana, this here is Laxus. He is my friend and also the grandson of guild master." and then introduced them, "She is Cana and her mother, aunty Cornelia. I met them during my return from the quest and they are quite close to me now."

Laxus took the initiative to greet them,"Nice to meet you Cornelia san, Cana" and aunty responded back "Nice to meet you too, Laxus" while Cana just shyly muttered "Nice to meet you".

"kyuu~" Luna pouted at me, as if aggreived that I didn't introduce her.

"Yes, yes, I didn't forget about you. This is my new companion Luna. She is a moon fox" I also introduced her to Laxus and he was amazed, "Woah! You encountered one of the rare moon fox on your first quest and even got her as a companion. Your luck is truly great"

"I know" I smirked at him while he just clicked his tongue "Tch"

We then went towards master's office and went inside after getting his permission. We all sat down on the couch and I recounted my entire journey to him.

"Sigh~ I knew that something was wrong with that bandit mission but I didn't expect there to be a demon from the book of Zeref there. It seems I still underestimated you a little. To be able to defeat a S ranked monster at your age is truly amazing" He sighed after hearing my tale.

"Well, that's obvious. After all, I am the greatest genius this world has ever seen" I answered nonchalantly which rendered everyone speechless but they couldn't say anything to refute it.

Only Laxus muttered, "Narcissist bastard"

"A curse on an entire town. Dark guilds are surely upto something big and it is definitely not something good. Don't worry, I will discuss this with other guild masters and try to find their plan" Gramps suddenly become serious and told us.

"That's good" I said.

He then turned back to his normal grandfatherly demenear and said while looking at aunt and Cana, "I have already listened to what El said but I would still like to ask. Are you sure you want to join the guild?"

"Um... We want to join the guild but I am afraid that we would be a burden as we can't use magic" aunty answered nervously.

"You don't have to worry about that.There are many tasks that don't require the use of magic" he answered while I just gave her a look that said 'I told you so'.

"Then we are sure" Aunty looked relieved on hearing that and said determinedly while Cana also nodded her head.

They both got the guild mark. Cana on the left side of her waist while aunty on the back of her right hand.

After that, we all looked at them and said with a smile "Welcome to the family".

They both grew teary and answered, "Please take care of us"
