24. New Relations

I was dumbfounded by their display and asked them to get up.

"Why are you kneeling?" I asked them and one of the doctors who seemed like their head replied

"Saint sama, I am Nike, the head doctor of this hospital. I was the one who personally diagnosed Mrs Cornelia here. I tried my best but we couldn't do anything. Her death was all but set in stone"

He then looked at me with zealous eyes "but you did the impossible and saved her"

"Sigh, I see" on listening to our conversation, both mother and daughter burst into tears of happiness and kept hugging each other. We all decided to give them some space and left the room.

" Saint-" "Call me Elior. That's my name and I am a mage of Fairy Tail guild" he started but I cut him off.

"It's a name befitting your great self but I wouldn't dare to call you by your name. So please let me call you lord Elior" he said

" Sigh, fine. So what were you going to say" I just gave up. It's better to not fight with zealous people.

"Yes, you see lord Elior, a few days ago, a dark mage passed through our town and after that day, a lot of people have been getting sick and their condition is just like Mrs Cornelia. On behalf of the whole town, I request you to please save them. " He said pleadingly.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "I had also found traces of dark energy inside her body. I believe that it is a curse. But now that you say that, it seems likely that a dark guild is involved in this and they are planning something big to put a curse on the whole town."

"Th-then, what will happen to us?" He asked while shaking with fear.

" Dont worry, I will report this matter to gramps and he will relay the information to magic council. Since a dark guild is involved, the light faction will surely do their best to stop whatever they are planning."

And he got relieved on hearing this.

"For now, take me to the patients, I will treat them. "

" Yes, lord Elior. "

After that I went from patient to patient to heal everyone who was a victim to the curse and treated them. They all thanked me and the elderly gave me their blessings.

It took a few hours to treat everyone. As Nike said, there were a lot of patients. Since I didn't have anything better to do, I also treated other people in the hospital.

I am now standing outside Mrs Cornelia's room to talk with her.

"Come in" her voice came from inside.

I entered the room to see Cana sleeping on her mother's lap. She must be mentally stressed from the news of her mother's upcoming death and now that her mother got healed, all the tension left her.

'Such a heavy burden on such a small girl'

"Oh, lord Elior, please come in. Please forgive me for not getting up" she said softly while looking towards Cana who was asleep on her lap.

"It's fine and please drop the lord. I call Cana my sister so you are like my Aunt. You can just call me El or Elior" I said to her.

She accepted on the condition that I also call her aunt. I went near her and put my hand on Cana's forehead and used my magic.

"What are you doing, El?" She asked curiously and I answered "Just something to help her sleep better" and after that she looked at me resolutely and bowed her head as much as she could without disturbing Cana.

"El, Thank You. Not only for healing me but also for taking care of Cana. Thank you for everything."

"You don't need to. It was something I wanted to do as well. After all, what kind of brother would I be if I let my sister cry on my watch" I just gave her a soft smile and replied.
