Chapter 13

I woke up the next day and immediately felt something was different. The feeling was similar to when I unlocked the true potential of my magic. All my senses were now sharpened to a very high degree, I could smell and see much more clearly, it would take time to adjust but it wasn't something unpleasant.

'Sage isn't this a bit too fast of a development'. I asked fearing that my senses would sharpen further which would be a problem.

[Don't worry it's not going to sharpen a lot, I have been circulating magic throughout your body when you were asleep for the past 8 hours, and I am doing it right now as well].

I brushed my teeth, took a shower, dressed up and stood in front of the mirror.

"Alright let's go".

I walked downstairs and was met by Lesselote and Hugo who both accompanied me to the dinner table for Breakfast.

"Mr Hugo, I want your help". I said to Hugo who looked at me confused.

"What can I do for you Jin".

"You remember how I told you that I left for the outside world to gain experience right".

"Yes, I do".

"Well is there any way for me to get work, mage work like quests and stuff".

"Hmm, I knew you would ask about this, well the easiest way is to join a guild".

"Can't..I am not allowed to join a guild". I lied, it wasn't that I didn't want to join a guild but I wanted Fairy Tail to be my first.

"Hmm.. I see then I would recommend Signing up at the council as a freelance mage although you will have to pass a test". Hugo said.

"Freelance?". I asked, it was something I never encountered in Anime.

"Yes it's a common thing in Stella however, you can't take cross-country quests and all quests come through the council. It was established for mages who wanted to gain a reputation before entering a guild, some guilds even have a requirement for joining where a mage must take a certain amount of freelance quest to join".

"I see..where can I go to get registered?".

"Hmm..the registration is easy on its own, you can simply use your merchant guild card to apply, the test will be simple enough, but first we need to open a bank account for you. I would recommend the Magisterial Bank of Ishigar. It's one of the only banks that allows you to withdraw and exchange money throughout the continent and is also supervised and insured by The magic council, it's not a stretch to say that most Mages have their accounts in this bank".

"Most..why not all?". I asked.

"Well, it usually also requires a recommendation for one to open a bank account but don't worry about it, i know just the mage who can help you". Hugo said.

Seeing my gaze to continue he stated. "My brother is a mage, his name is Vesper Cadbury, he is also a freelancer so he should also give you tips in ways I can't".

"Oh..that would be helpful, speaking of what happened to the Vandire guy?". I asked

"Haha I kicked him out, and took some underhanded tactics but he targeted mine and my daughter's life so I wasn't going to pull any punches".

"You let him go easily, just kicking him out for targeting your life isn't even".

Hugo simply smiled and I didn't pursue it further.

-----

We were currently headed to the bank and to say it was huge was an understatement. " Upon entering the bank a bank employee greeted us and all the forms to fill, apparently he was told of our arrival before and an appointment was booked. The entire procedure took about 20 minutes and we were out and about going to meet Higo's brother Vesper.

I was accompanied by Sebas, Lesse had a private tuition and Hugo after coming to the bank with us went back to the Merchant Guild.

"So This Mr Vesper...what kind of a person is he?". I asked Sebas.

"Well unlike Master he is a free soul and some might even call him weird or eccentric however I can assure you he is someone you can count on".

"So I heard from Hugo that he is in a warehouse owned by him..why is that".

"Well he is a magic inventor, he is someone who made several improvements on the Magic vehicles and even published several magic lacrimal theories, all of which have been recognised by both the continent and the council. However, this also means that he spends most of his time either experimenting or taking jobs to get the funds for the said experiment".

"I see..but would such a person waste his time on me".

"Master Jin, you aren't a waste of time and Master Hugo already Sent a message via Communication Lacrima so Master Vesper will have time...if he doesn't I will simply inform Lady Lesselote".

"Lesse?..why".

"Master Vesper's only weakness is lady Lesselote who he adores like his own daughter and usually he won't do anything that will put her in a bad mood".

"I see". I said simply.

Eventually, we arrived in front of a large warehouse and it was bizarre, cogs and other metal parts were sticking out of the roof, and there was a heap of several metal parts, formed into a pile at the far left.

Sebas walked forward and opened the front door and I saw more weird things inside. The entire inside of the warehouse was a mix between a garage, a laboratory, a library and a man cave. However, there was order in this chaos. Each section was separate from each other and I could see how one could navigate it easily if they were familiar with the place.

'I guess this guy isn't just a weirdo'. I thought as I moved forward and looked at a Magic four-wheeler which was perfectly disassembled into its basic components and lay down and I had an idea.

"Oi..kid, like what you see?". A voice asked from behind.

I turned around and saw a man with black hair and glasses with bags under his eyes looking at me.

"Mr Vesper i presume, I am -". I was cut off

"I know who you are kid, my brother already told me...Thanks for saving them..like really thanks. Now I will answer questions on topics you want to know so ask away". Vesper said and I had an idea.
