The consequences of your past actions

Walking through the night streets of Redwilnet, Christopher thought about something.

'I wonder if this isn't just another dream. And if it is a dream, I don't wanna wake up.'

["I understand you, but don't worry, this is definitely not a dream or illusion."] Ardelean reassured him as they both roamed the loud streets together.

'When we first met, you spoke about some war between The Darkness and the Light. Mind explaining?'

["Yeah, why not."]

["In the past when everything you see now didn't even exist, there were two entities, The Darkness and The Light."]

["In the appearance of the ancient Dragons, they fell in love with each other until a God appeared and manipulated the Light to betray her husband saying something like 'The Darkness is not good and pure like you. You should kill him, and other manipulative shit'."]

["The Light let herself be fooled and when she agreed, she gained a weapon from the God, The Eye of Aragos to kill the Darkness."]

'Eyes of Aragos? What's that?' Christopher asked, passing by the shops with numerous different goods.

In his black and gold suit, everyone's attention was on him and his face, illuminated by the blood-red moonlight.

His hair was let loose and a strain of those hair was hiding his left eye.

["Eye of Aragos is an ancient-looking amulet with the power of creation and destruction hidden inside it. It was used in creating a Universe."]

["At first, it was called the Eye of Creation but after the Darkness' death, the Light renamed it to Eye of Aragos after a home planet of the Darkness' origin."]

["You see, they didn't belong here and just escaped from their own universe here. To be together, they were ready to do anything, but God found them and made sure the Light wouldn't escape him somewhere else again. He needed her to produce life, if you know what I mean..."]

'Ugh, why did I imagine an old dude fucking a young woman?' Christopher shuddered at the thought.

["I don't know, but your assumptions were right. That's how it was after all..."]

'Whatever, where is it now?'

["The Eye? I don't know. Some say it was hidden on Aragos while others are sure that the amulet was shattered into pieces after that attack, and those pieces were spread across the Universe..."]

'Alright, now, what role am I playing in this?' Christopher asked as he suddenly disappeared from the street and reappeared on the roof of a nearby building, watching the majestic castle of Redwilnet from afar while enjoying the peace that no one was watching him.

["Well, you should have become the Darkness' host. As it is dead, it needs a new and strong body to be reborn. That's your role. Mine is to guide you to Styx which is the prison where the Darkness' soul is awaiting you."]

'So you're saying I should die for some dude so he can have my body and revenge on a cheating EX?' Christopher spoke.

["Basically, yes."]

'That's a truly stupid plot of a story you know that? Why he can't just reborn himself, ignore it or move forward? There are other girls as well, ready to be filled how many times you fucking want, and not just the one and only cheating bitch.' Christopher spoke as his gaze zoomed towards the castle with interest.

["I tried to make him see other ways but he's stubborn. It's a waste of time..."]

'Then let's just ignore him, how about that?'

["Possible but dangerous."]

'How so?'

["Ignoring him will make him angry and those individuals never end well. He has some hidden powers even I don't have the slightest clue about which is going to put you and your family in a bad position."]

'Haaah, so what now? I don't want to just fucking die when I gained a family like this. I fell in love and I'm not ready to lose it because of some stupid revenge lasting from the start of this universe.'

["I understand. I finally gained someone too. Someone who I can talk with freely, and without barriers, and just a simple thought of losing you makes me angry!"]

'Then? What are we going to do?'

["Unfortunately, we can't do anything for now. You're not strong enough to face someone like the Darkness and me either. It would be a suicide."]

["Let's go home now, you should rest a bit."]

'Hah, I don't like being powerless like this.'

["Same my friend, but we don't have a choice..."]

[... A few minutes later ...]

["Ready?"]

'Haaah, yeah. I should really go to sleep. That Arachne venom is a pretty nasty thing' Christopher said as he turned, and leaped from the building towards another, aiming towards the Báthory residence while a pair of eyes were watching him from a distant building.

"Lord Laire, I located the target." spoke the masked individual to a radio, watching Christopher disappear in the distance.

"Fine, watch him and if he shows up again, try to make him interested in you to the point of following you into our little trap~."

"Yes my Lord" spoke the individual and left the building.

[... 'Morning' ...]

When Christopher arrived at Elizabeth's mansion, he locked himself in one of the guest's rooms where he lay on the bed and relaxed.

He was thinking all the time about how lucky he was and how his life changed.

When his wives woke up, they quickly kidnapped him before their mothers could do that, and went shopping together.

When they saw Christopher was nowhere to be found, the Countesses just sighed and went to their daily work.

Elizabeth was looking after Ivy, Celeste went to her residence in Redwilnet to sign some documents and Isobel lazily roamed the garden of Elizabeth's mansion.

Those three, after yesterday's events, felt suddenly empty and without any happiness.

...

Meanwhile, after a few minutes of traveling through the streets of Redwilnet, a kingdom enchanted with an eternal night, Christopher and his wives finally arrived at a clothing shop.

Opening the door, the girls immediately went to look for some dress for a night ball, while Christopher felt pretty bored.

From yesterday, he was full of energy and shopping activities were so boring for him that if he was still a human, he would die from it.

'Shopping is not for men. I need an adventure not shopping' thought Christopher while Vicki stood in front of him.

Yeah, he was glad to spend his time with his wives but he missed something.

"What do you think darling? Are they good on me?" suddenly asked Vicki and when Christopher looked at her, he was charmed by her beauty again.

She was wearing an orange-red robe like flames with a big red butterfly on her back, working as a bow.

Christopher eyed Vicki from head to toe, smiled, and nodded, "You look, beautiful honey~."

Vicki nodded with a blush, "Ohhh, you are so sweet, thank you darling~" and left after Rose and Claudia, while Christopher started looking after suits with a forced smile.

He stopped in front of three mannequins who were wearing luxury suits.

'Any tips?' asked Christopher, while he was looking at black, red, and blue suits.

All three suits looked the same, only their color was different.

The red suit had black decorations, while the blue had silver decorations and the black had the same decorations in gold.

["Hmmm, that blue looks good, and that black is not bad either, while the red is pretty too. Sorry, I can't pick."] replayed Ardelean with a sigh of disappointment in himself while Christopher's attention was piqued by a mysterious woman who was walking on the street.

'It's okay' he thought, looking a the woman like he was enchanted and quickly ran to his wives, "Hey uh, I'm going to leave for a minute okay?"

"What?!" Rose and Vicki said in unison, "But darling, we wanted to-" Claudia wanted to protest but Christopher just cut her off, "Later dear, I need to take care of something."

"Fine," the girls frowned visibly, pretty sad and Christopher left the store, walking after the woman he saw outside.

The street was full of vampires again and the sky was glowing with stars and a blood-red moon.

A slight breeze was playing with Christopher's hair, bringing closer a beautiful scent of the woman he was following.

After a few minutes of walking, the woman took a left turn into a dark alley and Christopher went after her.

["I don't like this Christopher, we should go back,"] said Ardelean but Christopher didn't listen.

Something inside him wanted to go after her.

It was longing for her, and he wanted to know what it was.

The alley was hidden in darkness and without a single source of light, but vampires were living in darkness, so Christopher could see through the dark corners relatively well.

["Leave this place!"] said Ardelean in an ordering tone at which Christopher just shrugged and took another turn in the alley.

After some more turns, he heard Ardelean's voice again.

["Go no further!"] he said but Christopher was acting like he didn't hear him.

Then, he came to a bricked dead end with a sign, saying, 'This is your dead end hahahahaha~'.

The sentence ended with a smiley face.

"What?" Christopher looked around but didn't see the woman he was following.

He was sure he saw her just around the corner but when he arrived, she was nowhere to be found.

Suddenly he heard a female voice.

"Did you look for me?" and when he turned around, he saw a woman with a hood on her head.

The only thing visible were her lips and chin.

The cloak she was wearing was fully black and she held a black Raziel's sword in her right hand, while a white glowing orb was in her left.

The orb was the only source of light.

"Who are you? Why did I want to follow you?" Christopher asked, feeling the desire towards her suddenly vanishing quickly.

The woman replayed with a slight smile, "Because I wanted to, silly~."

When she said that, her body launched at Christopher at enormous speed.

He slowed the time to dodge but was surprised when it didn't work as she pierced his heart with the sword.

"This is not going to work on me" he smiled and pulled the sword out, throwing it on the ground.

The woman smiled.

"Are you sure?" she said and when Christopher looked at it again, the sword on the ground changed shape into a fully black dagger shaped like a claw with a handle that was forming a dragon's head on it's end.

["That's-AHHH!"] Ardelean roared in anger but his voice then changed into a sad one.

["You should have listened to me host... Now we are fucked."] said Ardelean as a yellow light started escaping from Christopher's wound.

"What the-AAAAAHHHHHH!" Christopher started screaming and fell on his knees, holding his wound.

The pain was worse than anything he ever felt.

Lifting his gaze, he asked with pain in his voice, "Who are you and w-what do you want from me!"

The woman started laughing, "What a stupid question! Of course, I want your death, together with a Lord Lazarus~."

Then, she pulled another, now the true black Raziel sword, and started slowly walking towards Christopher.

["We need to leave! NOW!"]

["You lost the Dragon part of your soul but with your Vampiric, we still can survive and later heal!"] shouted Ardelean, but again, Christopher didn't listen.

He got up from the ground and prepared himself for a fight.

"I kill you for this, woman, and then, I kill that moron as well!" Christopher roared.

"You think you can stop me boy?" asked the woman and without him feeling anything, she teleported behind him in a matter of milliseconds.

As she whiled her hand, wanting to pierce his heart through the hole in his chest, Christopher grabbed her hand and tried to resist.

But, holding her hand with his both, he couldn't stop her, he just slowed her down.

"Shhh, it's okay. Let me kill you," she said and grabbed the sword with her other hand, pushing it slowly to Christopher's opened wound.

The blade was slowly entering his wound and with one swift movement, the woman thrusted the sword into his wounded heart.

*COUGH!

As he coughs out blood, he looks toward the stars with wide eyes and black tears.

Then, the woman whispered in his ear, "This is your end little dragon" and the sword started burning with black flames.

*COUCH!! *COUGH!!

Christopher fell on his knees and couched black blood on the floor.

["Ahhh! This is your fault!"] was the last thing Christopher heard before he fell completely on the ground dead, and his body dissolved into dust.

The woman shuddered with happiness while she formed a wide smile on her face, "Ah~, the last of the dragons is dead."

She started laughing like a maniac and picked up the black dagger from the ground, hiding it in her cloak.

Then, she disappeared into the shadows.

...

Opening his eyes, Christopher found himself in complete darkness.

The only thing he can see is that the darkness around him was moving and flowing like snakes.

"You are finally here~."

Looking around in fear, a goosebump struck into Christopher's back.

The voice was creepy and when the owner of the voice spoke, Christopher could hear hundreds of whispers talking at the same time.

Every one of them said something else in a different language but all of them talked at the same time, so he didn't understand it.

"I was watching you all the time, and your decisions were terrible and predictable," the entity spoke again which sent shivers through Christopher's entire existence.

Even with the title of the dragon, he felt small against that entity, even when he didn't see it.

The voice was just too terrible to be ignored or owned by someone you can kill with one blow.

"HAHAHAHA, I'm so impolite. I shall introduce myself. I'm the DarKneSssS" said the entity.

The last word came out with shrieks of different monsters and when its voice died, a big, purple dragon's eye opened its eyelid in front of Christopher.

Christopher started trembling when he saw it.

The Darkness dragon rose from the ground and stood on its two legs.

He looked around and spread its wings as he shot enormous hot purple flames from its mouth towards the ceiling.

He was almost five hundred meters tall and when his flames touched the ceiling, it revealed a white barrier.

The barrier started glowing with a bright white light which started hurting the dragon and after a few glows, the barrier's light died.

"Haaah, as you can see, I'm trapped here by the Light, but now you are trapped here with me as well. Your decisions led you to me~," said the dragon and looked at Christopher.

After a few seconds of deep breaths and gaining the courage, Christopher asked, "W-Why? Why I'm here?"

The dragon eyed him from head to toe, "Because everyone who is destined to become my host ends here when he dies. We were connected from the start, am I right Ardelean?"

Immediately, Ardelean appeared next to Christopher.

He looked like an exact copy of Christopher, except that his features weren't visible, only his mouth and purple glowing eyes.

Nodding his head he bowed and responded, "Yes my Lord."

"What is happening? Is this some kind of trick again?" Christopher was shocked.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA", the Darkness started laughing and everything around started shaking when he bent to Christopher and shouted, "AM I A JOKE TO YOU!!!"

It's mouth was enormous and if the dragon wanted to eat Christopher, it would be like one small grain of rice for him.

Christopher trembled and bowed, "Okay, I-I'm sorry, uhh, Lord Darkness?"

"Hmm," the Dragon nodded and pulled back.

"I was watching your every single action. Your decisions and how you used my power. And it was pretty lame you know. It was all just... boring." said the dragon in annoyance and stood on his four.

Suddenly, a mirror made from pure darkness appeared in front of Christopher, recalling all his actions.

From when he met his wives for the first time, the drinking sessions he had with them, the fight he had with Lazarus, and later with the four riders with his death, the fight in the Phoenix residence, and the training with Ardelean, to the moment he had with his mothers-in-law, and shopping with his wives, later leaving them there and it all ended with his death, true death.

"Why are you showing this to me?" he asked as the dragon looked at him with annoyed eyes, "So you don't understand huh?"

The dragon sighed, "I'm showing you this to let you know how pathetic your life was. Your fights? Lame. Your interactions with your wives? Horrible. You almost even fell for a shadow with the appearance of your mother!"

"You took your wives for granted and even wanted more and in the end, you went after your mothers-in-law, and the next day, you ran after another bitch, which brought your death and showed me that you are just like the others. A worm."

"Next your fights? Child's plays. When you became Ardelean's host, you were representing ME!"

As the last word came, all the wall cracked under the pressure of his voice.

"And your fights were just... I don't even have a word for that. A Darkness' hosts are known for their interesting, dark tactics and powerful, destructive fights but yours were just... Haaah, let's continue..."

"So..." The dragon turned his head to the right and looked at Christopher with his big eyes.

"You are just a soul now. Hmmm, I should absorb you like those before you. Are you going to beg me and protest like everybody else or you face it like a true Dragon?"

"How the fuck can I protest against a being like you? I'm just a soul and you are a fucking dragon!"

The Dragon smiled as Christopher looked at Ardelean who stood at his left.

"Haaah so this is the end huh? Well, thank you for everything, my friend. You prepared a beautiful life for me but in the end, I fucked it up like everything else."

Ardelean nodded, taking the apology, and Christopher looked back at the dragon.

"Sorry for my outburst Lord. I'm taking it because in the end," he looked around, "I can't even escape. It would be useless trying to run away from you."

The dragon smiled again and nodded at Ardelean. Then, he opened it's mouth as he started absorbing Christopher's soul.

When it was done, Ardelean bowed to the dragon, "Thank you my Lord." and disappeared as the dragon lay on the ground while thinking, 'I hope I won't regret it, Ardelean.'

Then he started to fall asleep.
