Conspiracy [chapter 17]

As they faced a group of infected humans, Amanda's team tried to take a detour, but they found themselves surrounded. Suddenly, the infected humans started sprinting towards them, but Antony conjured up several illusions of himself to distract them, giving the team a chance to fight back.

"That went quicker than I thought," said Rick to Antony. "Hey, that's what I am here for," replied Antony with a smile. "I don't like him," whispered Captain Boomerang to Deadshot. "Yeah, he's going to be a pain in the ass to kill," said Deadshot. "I thought he agreed to join us," whispered Harley. "He did, but he seems to have his plan," added Captain Boomerang.

The infected humans kept coming, no matter how many times they were killed. But Antony's illusions kept them busy enough for the team to easily eliminate them all.

As they moved through the city, Harley tried to mess with everyone's head because she was bored, and Deadshot conspired with Rick. Antony observed the chaos, thinking to himself, 'now I understand why Alucard doesn't work with people.' "Which side are you on, really?" asked Harley, after a while. "I am on nobody's side," replied Antony. "However, I am willing to help you for the right price," he added, messing with her head.

"Then name it," she said. "That is for you to figure out," he replied, speeding up to walk beside Katana. She looked at him without saying a word as Antony's face morphed into a more serious expression, which confused Katana. Antony had been smiling the whole time, and she couldn't believe he was suddenly so serious. 'He can't be serious,' thought Antony, as he looked at the attribute panel.

Alucard had just sent a message to Antony, informing him that he could only use the illusion skill. This was a condition set by Alucard himself, as he didn't want Amanda to start questioning where the other abilities came from. He wanted her to believe that she had the upper hand in terms of information. "Fuck it," Antony thought as he entered the target building with the rest of the team. Harley, being the chaotic nut job she was, took the elevator and got attacked by a lot of infected people waiting in ambush.

They then arrived on the floor just in time to meet Harley Quinn in the elevator, completely unharmed. After that, they continued moving when suddenly they received word that the motion detector was going off. Croc sniffed up the roof and a bunch of infected fell, prompting an immediate fight. As bullets went flying everywhere, Antony took the opportunity to create an illusionary duplicate and used the illusion as a decoy to headshot the infected.

Having enough of the passiveness of El Diablo, Deadshot insisted that he take action. He burned the other side of the building, bringing everyone in awe. "I could have done that shit if he didn't take that form," thought Antony. He still felt bitter about Alucard taking the way that skill, but he understood. Everybody here was required for their particular set of skills, which were studied and documented. If he suddenly started using the same ability as another operative, that would be troublesome.

Anyways, after clearing the building, they went and got the target, which turned out to be Amanda herself. The squad didn't like the sight of her one bit. "Let's go home, after killing her," said Boomerang. "Nobody is going to trust you, Boomerang," said Antony, pissing him off. "It's Captain," he corrected. "Yeah, I don't give a rat's ass about it. You attack now and you are going to regret," warned Antony.

"Pussy," said Croc. "Don't talk. My point is she has more control than us. This fight isn't going to end well, at least not for us," he said. "I am not going back," said Harley. "It's that or be headless. The choice is yours," he said as he turned towards Amanda. "When are we going to deal with that?" asked Antony as he pointed to the light at the center of the city. "Why can't this idiot be patient?" thought Antony.

(scene change)

After going to the roof, one of the soldiers attempted to talk to the helicopter pilot, but he received no response. Suddenly, it started firing. "Great, now I am getting fucking tired," thought Antony as he created an illusionary clone before camouflaging himself with the environment. The helicopter then sent down a rope, which Harley gladly went on. "Kill her," said Amanda, but unfortunately, her nanites were disarmed, as the helicopter flew away.

Seeing Harley getting away, Amanda implored Deadshot to shoot her, but he purposefully missed. "This just keeps getting interesting," thought Antony. "This is Amanda. That bird has been hijacked. I want you to shoot it down," she ordered. "Copy," they said as they shot a missile at the bird, which unfortunately for them, Harley Quinn jumped off. "That was a mistake," said Antony, smiling.

"Shooting them down?" asked Amanda. "No, Harley Quinn surviving," he said as he turned towards the surprised Amanda. "Joker and Harley are no more," she said. "She is crazy. Hope you are ready," he said. "I can handle it," replied Amanda. "Good for you
