Familiar Back

She was in disbelief at what she just heard. How could this...happen? She just didn't know what to think, or what questions to ask. Is she even qualified to ask a question?. She did her very best to keep calm and see how this unfolds. Maybe....Just maybe it isn't as far as her imagination. For the fist time she needed and hopefully wished for things to go her way.

The spoke person went on and on about the company and it's working styles. But someone's attention wasn't in square with what was going on.

"Are you even listening?" Kayla asked her.

"Uhmm yeah...is it that obvious?" Alvira whispered back.

"Of courses." Kayla mumbled giving her an 'are you seriously asking me that?' look.

Alvira sighed. "Didn't it ring a bell?"

"A bell...?"

"Like...where we are?"

Kayla's eyes widen in realization after thinking it through. "Oh my God! not true!!"

"I hope so too." Alvira replied, her tenseness wasn't an oblivious fact.

"Wait really? thought you wanted to see him again."

."Says who? When?" Al jittered.

"Okay, okay okay. Chill! He is almost done. Are you gonna start today though?" Kayla asked.

"I Don't know, I hope not."

"Relax girl, it's written everywhere that you are nervous."

"No I'm not!"

"Then why.....?" Kayla spouted but was abruptly interrupted.

"Just quit it Kay!"

"Fine fine. Concentrate will you."

Alvira quietly directed an unsurprised glare towards her. 'Said the one who butted into my thoughts." She mentally thought, avoiding more argument between them.

Suddenly a question popped out in her mind. If really, Lady Roose meant a punishment for her as a Job then why will she make her the personal assistant to the Big Boss? She didn't understand. Or was it that, he is a wicked person who isn't kind to his employees and assistants? that shouldn't be the case right? Though he looked dangerous and vile but he didn't have an appearance of wicked and heartless person.

She remembered the phrase do not judge from the appearance, rather do so by the inside and obviously enough she doesn't know him enough to judge, only his physical appearance was registered within her thinking and memory.

After an hour, the briefing was done, it was a long one not to deny, and by the time it was over, majority of them were hungry and some felt thirsty.

Good thing Kayla wasn't among them for the job. So she kindly excused herself to go get something for Alvira to eat, while the rest proceeded to the next level. "I'll be back okay, what will you like?"

"Anything please." Alvira told her and she nodded before heading out. She already knew this, she just wanted to be sure if she needed any special cravings but well, knowing Alvira once is like knowing her forever. She doesn't change.

Kayla rushed out instantly, trying to find a way out was a hastle, but still she did it successfully. Moving on to finding a stall near by or an eatery so she could place the order on a take-home basis. Only for her to see nothing at all. It was as dry as land, only the mighty building of the Li Empire stood tall in the whole proximity.

Having no choice, Kayla trekked further down. And luckily enough she was blessed to come across a little eatery just by the roadside. She hurriedly went in purchased what she came for. She ordered noodles and roasted crab, Alvira loves Crabs alot.

She wasted no time and took a taxi back to the company. "It took a whole twenty minutes just to go get food!!?" She said out loud after looking at the time on her mobile phone. Right now she was standing at the same entrance which she left from and that of which Denor took them in from.

Finding her way back to the hall wasn't going to be that nerve wrecking since she had already gone through with it earlier. It was as smooth as sail now.

Kayla strolled with ease. Her brows creased when she saw a familiar back. The memory of she in that alley holding a man's hand flashed back. "Could it be....?" Without continuing her sentence she followed suit.

Numerous number of people where busy walking up and down the hallway, she hastened her steps but she couldn't catch up with his speed. The people walking about didn't make it any easier for her either.

Yes! she's catching up. Well that's what she thought until he got into an elevator. She patiently waited for him to turn around so she could atleast get a glimpse before it closes. But luck wasn't on her side.

The elevator door closed shut and he didn't even turned around, as if he knew that someone was following him earlier. "F**k!" She cursed. Kayla stared at the elevator one last time before turning back with a sullen mood.
