RATE AND REVIEW

RAYMOND'S POV..

I sighed in relief after realizing that I'd imagined it all and none of it actually happened.

" So, what do you say about us hiring Becks M for the job because it'll be in our favor"  Mr Vasnani said and I rubbed my hands against each other.

I needed to be smart. On a norms, I didn't like it when people complimented Becks M because I felt she didn't deserve it but when it came to my company, I had to think wisely. Becks M would really do good to my company so why not drop everything and go with her.

" Alright then but there's something you should know" I said and took a glass of water for myself.

" And what is that?"

" I met with Zach devices a while ago and we also agreed on hiring Becks M for the promotion of our services so I think it'll be smart of you to bag a 70-30 contract with Zach devices because they can up your shoes and give them the best advertisement they could ever need" I said, trying to convince him to partner with Zach devices. To be honest, I wasn't advising him because I was trying to be a good person but because I knew I'd make lots of money from it.

" You have a point there Mr Styles. I'll consult my team and get back to you" he said and I got up.

" Good bye" he said.

I extended my hand for a shake " goodbye Mr Vasnani" I said and left.

I got into the car and the driver started the car and we headed straight to the company.

" Make sure to book us an appointment with Becks M" I said without looking at Maya.

" Already did sir" she said and I folded my fists. She was always up and doing and I couldn't appreciate her.

Most times, I felt guilty for always downgrading and being ungrateful to her.

" Hmmm" I said and looked away out of the window.

We arrived and I went straight to my office. I quickly went back to work, burying myself in it until lunch time.

I got off the seat and headed straight to the company's cafeteria where I ordered for a burger.

I took out my phone and stared at my wallpaper, my Ari. I plugged in my earphones and started listening to Ariana's favourite song, Despacito by Louis Fonsi and I sang along to it.

I finished my food, unplugged the earphone before heading back to my office.

I attended other meetings before heading home after closure.

It'd being days since Rayna's love booked an appointment with Becks M but she hadn't replied to their mail.

" Maya" I called and Maya walked into his office

Damn! She was up and doing.

" Yes sir" she answered with a bright smile on her face

" Any news from Becks M?" I asked

" Not yet sir" she replied and i ran my fingers through my hair. Who did Becks M think she was to ignore me in such a way.

I'd promised myself to look her up but I just hadn't had the time for that and with her constant attitude, I just didn't feel the need to look her up.

" And did you bother sending a follow up mail?" I asked.

" I did. Infact, I've sent four follow ups but her assistant hasn't replied any. Hopefully she'll reply today but if she doesn't, I might have to go to her company" Maya said and I rolled my eyes. I could never find a reason to be upset or mad at Maya. Sometimes I felt guilty for the way I acted with her.

" Alright then, I'll catch up with you later" I said and signalled for her to leave.

" Ok sir" she said and left.

I ran my hair back thinking of what to do. I'd gone through the company's analysis and after going through the reports from my manager, I've seen that Becks M partnering with us was gonna be a huge win for us and I couldn't wait for her to respond. It'd been a week already. I rested my head on my chair's headrest when my telephone beeped, indicating an incoming call.

" Yes"

" Good morning sir, there's someone here to see you" My receptionist, Josephine said.

" Who's it" I asked.

" It's your mum sir" she said and my eyes widened. 

" What are you waiting for? Send her in" I said and put the telephone down.

After some time, my mum walked in.

Mrs Styles walked into Raymond's office. Her red curly hair resting on her shoulder. She had her makeup lightly done and the jumpsuit she had on.... She looked hot.

" Mum!!" Raymond called and rushed to embrace her.

" How are you?" She asked before going to take the seat opposite him.

" I'm fine mum and you?" He asked before taking his seat.

" I'm alright, just came to see my son progressing in life" she said as she dropped her purse on the table.

" That's so sweet of you mum. " Raymond said with a smile on his face but Mrs Styles was quick to notice that the smile wasn't genuine.

" Mind to tell me what's going on over brunch?" She asked with a little smile.

He chuckled softly, " you bet i do"

" Come on, let's go" Mrs Styles said and they both left Raymond's office to a nearby restaurant.

" Soda and three croissants" Raymond told the waitress. " Mum?"

" Just a veggie salad" she said and the waitress left.

" Veggie salad? Isn't that too simple?"

" Watching my weight son. Now tell me, what's wrong? Why don't you have a genuine smile on your face?" She asked.

" I do mum. Just stress from work, there's this Becks M who we want to partner with but she's not responding to our mails. It's really stressing me out" Raymond lied.

" Don't lie to me Ray. I birthed you and I know when something's bothering you. Now tell me the truth, what's going on?" She asked.

" I guess I can't let go of her mum. I still love her and I can't help but think about her every single day" he said and the waitress dropped their orders on the table. " Thanks" he muttered and she left.

" Come on, don't tell me you're still dwelling in that childish love. She's gone Raymond, get a grip of yourself and achieve something" she said, hoping it'd talk him out of thinking about Ariana's death.

" I wish it was mom but it wasn't. I still love her and if she was still alive, I'd have made her mine" Raymond said and took a sip of his soda.

" You're 29 Raymond. You'll be thirty soon and you're not a kid. I admit you've achieved a lot by building your company and making sure it's top notch but still, you still have to settle down" she said and placed his hand on her head. " Promise me"

" Promise you what mum" 

" Promise me you'll forget about Ariana and settle down" she said.
