"Now, I will take the final inheritance." Trevon said. Treasure Snatcher Trevon wouldn't miss a treasure before his eyes. Especially if the danger was manageable.
This was why he wouldn't admit he was a coward. In his eyes, he would do calculated risk. Zero risk was his priority for sure.
"Look at this!" Trevon used Miracle Phantom to show his ability. Two Trevon appeared side by side.
"Hehehe. See? I have fulfilled the test. Where is my reward?" Trevon showed a phantom to claim the final inheritance.
"…"
"Prank!" A monolith appeared above Trevon's phantom.
"AAAAAAAA!!!! That hurts! AWWWWW!!" Trevon once again turned left and right on the floor.
"You shouldn't taunt a dungeon master." Master Rabbink didn't feel it should pity Trevon.
It took Trevon another three minutes before the pain disappeared. Once again, his body drenched with his sweats.
"Gah! You are not fun." Trevon drank some pills to recover his spiritual energy.
He stood and went toward the newly appeared monolith.
[Ragam Phoenix Inheritance Test.]
[Congratulations! You have passed my last test. You have proven your ability to learn. My successor must be like me wanted to learn. The world is endless. You can find many things worth learning. Unfortunately, I, Ragam Phoenix, could no longer learn about this world. Touch this monolith to see my final inheritance.]
Trevon touched the monolith. Next, he appeared in a small room, perhaps a meditation room. Only the door showed a glimpse of the beautiful garden outside. The room was decorated luxuriously. A smell of tea welcomed Trevon.
A mature Ragam sat before Trevon. Ragam wore a royal robe this time, while a gold phoenix crown was on top his head. He prepared a tea ceremony.
"Who are you?" He calmly asked while still performing the tea making ceremony.
"Eh? You don't know me? We have fought before."
"I am only a memory. The one who had fought with you is also another memory." Ragam invited Trevon to sit with his hand.
"Trevon McArthur, the number one young master in Bluestar and Redwood."
"Never heard of Redwood. However, Bluestar is a small place."
"Why did you say the same thing?"
"Hahaha. That is in my memory about Bluestar. A beautiful small village before the Blue Death Island." He served a cup of tea for Trevon.
Trevon smelled it. It was very fragrant.
Ragam could see that Trevon understood his tea value. "That is the last batch of my tea. From today, Ragam Phoenix has found his successor."
"You are a freak." Trevon remembered the crazy Miracle Phantom. The person who sat before him was the masochist.
"Thank you. My family had always said that, but I have never lost because of that." Ragam sipped his tea. "Every Rank 4 warrior is a freak. You will not reach the top of the world without being a freak." He continued to tell several tales of Rank 4 warriors at his time. Each was a strange warrior.
"If you live that long, you will never be normal." Ragam ended his story with a small sip of tea.
Trevon also drank his tea. The place was peaceful. From outside the room, Trevon could hear someone started to play the music.
"This is my favorite music. However, I know you are not interested in an old man's music taste." Ragam smelled his tea again.
"My inheritance for you is here." He pointed to a large box next to him. The box floated to the table and somehow opened itself. Five items were placed inside. They were a ring, a pair of the strange weapon, a jade slip, a crown, and a scroll.
Ragam pointed to the ring. "This is my storage ring. In the past, I hired a Master Artificer to make me a Star level storage ring.
[HOLY GOD! An inheritance dungeon really contained good treasures. Hahaha.] Trevon took the storage ring and made a connection.
"Eh?" Trevon's happiness was short-lived. He saw nothing inside of it except a million spirit stones.
"That is empty. My common treasures were taken for the dungeon as the reward for the dungeon trials. However, most were only useless pills, medicine, talismans, and secondary armors. I only had around a million spirit stones."
"You only have that much money?" Trevon wouldn't believe that. Ragam was a king of Heavenly Phoenix.
Ragam smiled. He saw a tinge of disappointment in Trevon's expression. "As a King, I don't need to money. Everything in Heavenly Phoenix is mine. I can point and take everything. However, this ring is a very rare artifact. During my time, this was the largest storage ring in Heavenly Phoenix."
Trevon saw inside the storage ring again. This time he looked around the size. A Star level storage ring was far larger than his own storage ring. The ring was five-meter-long, five-meter-wide, and five-meter-tall.
[This ring is really big. Hahaha.] Trevon laughed. While he had his universe to store large things, the transfer wouldn't work if the spiritual energy in the atmosphere disturbed.
Meanwhile, he couldn't bring too many rings. There was an unknown rule about accessories. He could only activate the effect from ten rings at the same time since he had only ten fingers. Anything more would only become an accessory. Therefore, a bigger ring would make thing easier for him.
Most people rarely wore storage rings. People would wear rings with a gem which increased their attack or other bonus.
"Do you like it?" Ragam smiled.
"Hahaha. Of course!" Treasure Snatcher Trevon wouldn't reject it. This was the biggest storage ring that he had ever seen. Even bigger than the one worn by his grandmother.
"Next is my favorite weapon, Haladie."
Trevon looked into the strange weapons. This weapon made a mess of him during his fight, but he also knew about this weapon weakness. The user must be careful of injuring oneself with this three-blade weapon.
"I found this in one of the inheritance dungeons that I have conquered. The time asked me to pass this to the next generation again." Ragam wiped the haladies with his royal robe. Sometimes for a warrior, a weapon was closer than a wife or a child.
Trevon could see the reluctant feeling in Ragam's eyes.
"Sigh… My time is over. It will be your turn to show this weapon to the world. Do you know why I get the chance to pass my inheritance?" Ragam looked at Trevon.
[Eh? How could I know?] Trevon wondered.
Ragam smiled as if he had expected Trevon couldn't answer that. "It is because I can combine Miracle Phantom with this weapon. Both were inherited from a different dungeon. However, I combined them into a fearful strategy. I even added Thousand Slice that I self-created both for offensive and defensive. You could defend from your enemies by attacking. An attack is the best defense. That idea is my inheritance."
"Ah!" Trevon said.
"This jade slip contained all the information about all martial arts before. I see you have mastered the basic of Miracle Phantom. That is not bad. When I was your age, I had already been able to use all these arts. However, just one is enough for now. In three years, I believe you would be able to learn the basic of everything." Ragam smirked with proudness. "You have to learn everything to make my inheritance shine again."
"Wait! Hehehe." Trevon laughed. He went to the Universe Store and returned.
"I don't need three years. Hahaha." He stood and showed everything except Twin Explosion.
"..." Ragam wanted to cry. He just bragged but the young master in front of him just slapped him. [The Dungeon Master only told me you passed using Miracle Phantom. Can't I save some my dignity as an elder?]
"These martial arts are too easy for me. Hahaha." Trevon took his fan and fanned himself. When else he could act arrogantly in front of a legend. Besides, he had no disadvantage. This legendary warrior would disappear after this. His secret was safe.
"Cough! Cough! Cough!" Ragam looked at the garden outside the room. "The young would surpass the old. I am a once in ten thousand years genius. You are a once in a million years genius." He shook his head.
"Hahaha." Trevon felt happy. [Do you hear it, Rabbink? A legendary Rank 4 warrior praised me for being a one in a million years genius. Hahaha.]
"Yes. You are one in a million years cheater. No. One in a billion epochs cheater." The Rabbink felt Trevon was too shameless. That was bragging because of the cheat. "I have met so many warriors and cheater, however, no one who loves to cheat as much as you."
[What? That is not cheating. I use the brain as a part of my genius side.]
"Ehem... You still have some inheritances." Ragam saw Trevon was distracted. He took the crown from the box. It was the same crown that Ragam's wore.
Trevon saw a crown, and a map left in the box.
"What is this crown?" Trevon returned to sit in front of Ragam.
"Both items are my last wishes. They are also an extra reward for you." Ragam sipped his tea.
[They are last wishes but also rewards?] Trevon thought.
"I am not asking you to take me as your teacher. You have beaten the same age as me. I am sure you will walk further than me. However, I wish you can help me fulfill my last wishes." Ragam said. Luckily, he didn't know about the unpaid bard.
"I will if it is not hard." Trevon said.
"It is a bit hard."
"Then I won't do it. Ask something else!"
"Hahaha. Please listen first! You have the right to decide whether you would do it or not. This is also a part reward."
"Fine…"
"First, does Heavenly Phoenix still rule the land?"
"Yes."
"Good. Over a hundred thousand years ago, I helped the Ironlaw family and several smaller families to fight with the Goldcave Dwarf Kingdom. Those dwarves always forbade our human merchants and soldiers to pass Goldcave. The other ways would add twenty days. This made my Heavenly Phoenix separated into two parts."
Trevon drank his tea and nodded.
"My family Grand Elder Assembly then decided to send me, a Rank 4 warrior, to fight against a Rank 4 knight of the kingdom."
Trevon saw a bit of anger from Ragam.
"But there were actually two knights in that kingdom. Somebody leaked our plan. The dwarves ended asking another Rank 4 knight as reinforcement. Yet, I am Ragam Phoenix. I defeated two of them. However, the kingdom had a genius artificer. His bomb artifact killed me. He is the owner of the main inheritance here." Ragam looked toward the room.
[Eh? So, the main inheritance is an artificer inheritance.] Trevon wanted that more. Sometimes a profession inheritance was better. Especially after he knew the masochist martial art.
"Funny, isn't it? Someone whose creation killed me is also the one who allowed me to gain bigger karma."
"So, you want me to find that dwarf inheritor and silence him?" Trevon had read in the novel two inheritors of opposite groups fought with each other. [I don't want to have an enemy because of you.] He thought.
"No. I don't hate the dwarves. We are enemies. I have killed many dwarves during the fight. We killed each other is fair. However, I have the debt with the Heavenly Phoenix Imperial families. They have allowed my fall during the battle. I know someone from my family leaked the information to the dwarves. Tell me the current imperial families!" Ragam said with a calm voice. But at some part, Trevon could feel the anger in Ragam's words.
"Erm… There are five imperial families. Phoenix family is the crown families. While Luan family, Fenghuang family, Hoo family, and Bulsajo family are the empress families." Trevon could answer that. Although he didn't go to the academy daily, this was part of the lessons. He had crammed the lesson just before any final test.
"Hm… The old rules are still used. However, finding my descendants are hard. Most likely the current king had my blood flowed in their vein combined with the betrayer."
"Yes. Yes. Yes." Trevon felt it would free him from the responsibility to help this old king.
"However, I want to play a joke. Hahaha."
"Yes?" Trevon couldn't believe it. However, he felt interested to hear the plan. He believed the prank of a Rank 4 warrior would be fun.
"I won't ask you to spread my story. It had already happened too long ago. However, I ask you to give my crown to the second, third, fourth, or any other crown princes or princesses except the first."
"Erm… What is the fun?" Trevon looked at the crown. "That is just me being an errand boy."
"This crown is one of my family founding artifacts. It isn't strong, but the meaning it contained is about our family leader. The owner of this crown would become the first crown prince or princess if the old rules still applied. This crown had deep meaning. Yet, it was buried with me."
"…" Trevon felt a bit fear. This was more than a joke. While he loved to play a prank, but this level was too high. The country might be divided into two because of this. [Sigh… The game played by a Rank 4 warrior is at a different level.]
"What is there any problem?" Ragam smiled. He could see the serious frown on Trevon's face.
"No. Just, this joke seems to be too much." Trevon had heard about Divine Tides Country, the land where Palacio, the little boy he met in Redwood, came from. It became divided and daily wars happened since there were two strong princes. Palacio's father even a former general
"Do not worry! Although it will create a bit of trouble. Those elders in the Imperial families could handle it. If they couldn't this country would no longer a Heavenly Phoenix. This is the punishment for Phoenix family for betraying me."
"…" Trevon thought. While he loved to play jokes, this was a level higher than what he usually did.
"I am still a former Heavenly Phoenix king. My blood and my ancestor blood were poured for this country. I won't do anything too bad for my country. As I said before, the current king was most likely had my blood ran through him. So, every crown prince and princess are my descendants."
"Let me think!" Trevon took the crown.
The crown was made from pure gold. However, Trevon knew that more than a common gold, it must be a spiritual gold. The design was simple, a flower style headband with several phoenixes flying surrounding it. Trevon could see several gems embedded on it.
An inscription could be seen on it. Trevon tried to pour his spiritual energy, but nothing happened.
"My crown is my family artifact. Only a person from my family's main branch could activate. As long as you have a Phoenix in your last name, you can activate it. However, it was only a useless spiritual gold for other people."
"Ooooh!!!" Trevon felt a bit disappointed. Other than the bonus from the gem, he wouldn't get any effect. But the crown only protected a small area to help him defensively. "What is this crown's inscription effect?"
"That crown would make your mind clearer. It is very useful for making a decision."
[Is that true Rabbink?] Treasure Snatcher Trevon couldn't miss a good treasure even while he couldn't use it.
"Yes. He isn't lying." Master Rabbink floated around Trevon.
"What is the reward for this?" Trevon wouldn't easily make a promise.
"You will also get a benefit. Imagine if the crown prince that you support became a King!" Ragam still continued his persuasion. A naughty smile appeared on his face.
"…" The Rabbink finally knew Trevon's trait that made the dungeon master thought the inheritance suited Trevon.
"Ah!" Trevon started to imagine the thing. Although Imperial families and McArthur families weren't in a good term. Some of their descendants were actually on a good term on the personal level.
[Hahaha.] Trevon could imagine the bragging rights for helping a future king or queen. His imagination turned perverted. [I could ask for a few beautiful women in the Heavenly Phoenix from the future ruler, right? Hwehwehwe.]
"How do you think? This is also an inheritance from me. As long as you pick the correct candidates, a king or queen will owe you a big thing. Consider this a chance to make my descendant and my inheritor becomes a friend." Ragam smiled.
"Yes. Hahaha. Do not worry!" Trevon gave a thumb up. He carefully stored the crown again. "Erm... What is this scroll?"
"This is something that I have found, but I haven't checked it." Ragam opened the scroll on the table. "I found some documents on the Royal Library."
Trevon saw an old map appeared. The land was similar to the newest map, but the cities were different. He couldn't find Redwood City for example. Nevertheless, he could see Bluestar."
"The place is near the capital!" Ragam pointed to a point. "There is a hidden inheritance dungeon around here. Rumor said far long times before human arrived on this continent. There was a powerful elf kingdom in this forest."
[Another inheritance dungeon…] Trevon thought.
"My greatest wish is to conquer this dungeon. I don't know whether the dungeon had been conquered, but my ancestor found the place already opened. However, he returned empty-handed. Until my time, the dungeon wasn't known to the public. I believe nobody had conquered this. This is my final reward and also my last wish for you."
Ragam looked disappointed. "Sigh… I was about to check this place when the plan to attack Goldcave started. Never imagine I would never return."
"You don't have a defensive armor?" Trevon wanted that the most.
"Hahaha. I have, but the most powerful already destroyed during the last explosion. While the weak ones didn't deserve to be inherited by my inheritor. They became part of the dungeon rewards. Some treasures can only be inherited by my descendant. Only a Phoenix could obtain those." Ragam looked toward Trevon.
"Besides, my main inheritance is my undying bravery. Attack! Attack! Attack!" Ragam showed his punch to Trevon.
However, in front of Trevon, he saw a mountain crashed into him. He fell to his back.
"Good. Hahaha. You still have to learn the bravery. I, Ragam Phoenix, finally completed my inheritance. Hahahaha." Ragam's body turned into a blinking particle before disappeared. A smiled was the last thing Ragam showed to the world and to his inheritor.
A monolith appeared on the place Ragam disappeared.
"Touch exit!" The dungeon master said. [Good Riddance.]
Chapter 14 Oct 2018. Good Riddance! Hope this Rabbink could say that someday. Gwahahaha.
