"Really?! Is it just a regular soup? The one that we used to eat?" She still couldn't believe that they collected many things just to make soup. Furthermore, it's made from the tongue of a dog and a ball of freaking wool from a bat!
"Now that you said it again... I think, if we actually eat it, it will boost our health, but I didn't make this Redstone soup for that matter! I'm actually using this soup to improve the altar's power so that I could do many things."
"Altar?! Did master mean that weird table with a skull on top of the red cloth near the lich tower?"
George nodded. "Yes! What we are researching is totally different than anything we have made before. It's definitely different than our usual potions. And why do we need to build that altar? It was because we need something that could harness nature's power, so we could use that power to our advantage. This whole witchery craft thingy is supposed to study this kind of power."
She was astonished by the functionality of this weird altar table. "Okay! Let's go back and prepare the witches kettle! We are going to make the Redstone soup!"
She nodded and went back to the twilight forest quickly and prepared a bucket of water to fill the kettle up. "Master, this disciple has finished the task."
George nodded and placed all of the ingredients to make this Redstone soup. Different than making something on the witches cauldron, you could toss the ingredients inside the pot without worrying about any particular orders.
The six items that he needed to make the Redstone soup are a piece of Redstone (Duh...), a mandrake root, a belladonna flowers, the drop of luck that he just made a few hours ago, and lastly... the wool of bat and the tongue of dog that they just hunted in the nether.
Like what happened when you threw something on the witches cauldron, the liquid changed it's color whenever a new type of ingredients melted and corporates to the concoction.
After the last item, the concoction will release a white particle on top of it. If this thing had happened, don't panic! Because it could only mean that you are successfully made a functional brew.
"Ah! At last... We have Redstone soup!"
"Wait- What? It's done?! I thought that it would take like a week! As expected of our master!" Mu Yifei once again narrowed her eyes in shock. She felt really grateful when she remembered that she was saved because of this person and Sun Zhou. She always felt respectful to George, but today's action made her respect deeper.
George became really embarrassed by her remarks, because... literally all people could do it that easily when they are playing Minecraft. Just by having the instruction book that we all could get from the witchery mod, all kind of people could make this thing easily.
With a twitching face, he took a glass bottle to store the Redstone soup inside the glass bottle. It was the very same glass bottles that he usually used for the potions that he was selling in his shop.
After that, he poured all of it to the chalice on the altar. Why did he use a bottle to transfer the liquid and not just pour all of it to the chalice? Because inside the game, you do it like that. So to minimize the probabilities that he could mess things up, he decided to follow the rules.
After adding back the gold chalice that's filled with a mysterious reddish soup, the power that the altar could store are enormous. It was going to be enough, even if he does some major things.
"Okay! After upgrading the altar... What should I do next?!" He thought inwardly while rubbing his chin.
「Ding! What about messing around with circle magic?! Or you could make poppets to sell! There are many kinds of poppets from witchery mod, so you won't be disappointed!」
Really?! I really know about voodoo and the death protection one... But I guess, it's kinda crucial for my safety too!
"Okay... Today, we are going to make an artifact that we, witches and warlocks liked to call as poppets! So... What is a poppet? In witchcraft, a poppet, sometimes known as a Moppet, Mommet or Pippy is a doll made to represent a person, for casting spells on that person or aid them through magic. These dolls are fashioned from simple natural materials and stuffed with items of magical significance with the intent that actions performed upon the subject will be transferred to the effigy based on sympathetic magic. In rarer cases, the sympathy may be reversed so that actions performed on the effigy will be transferred to the subject. To make one, you have to make a doll shaped like a human from a ball of wool. But the most important thing is the stuffing! You have to use those plants that have been growing for a while!" He pointed his fingers at the Spanish moss that he casually planted in the wall of this lich tower.
"The next step is to fill the doll with any appropriate items to the desired magic effects. The items vary, depending on what kind of poppet do you want to make and you placed all of these items inside the doll as more stuffing. And finally, the sympathetic link between the poppet and a living being must be created!"
"Sympathetic link between the poppet and a living being must be created?! How could we exactly do that, Master?" She curiously asked, because she never heard anything like this. In fact, many people from this world must have never heard any concept regarding magic. So it's no wonder that they are kinda confused by the theory of magic.
"To make a sympathetic link between the poppet and a living being is very easy! Just take the target's DNA and inject it to the poppet!"
"DNA?"
George almost facepalmed when he heard that. "Ahem! It's just a fancy word of witchery... Don't mind it! It will make your headaches real bad. To simplify it, you just need to inject the targeted's blood, or hair, or nail clips on the poppet and it will establish the connection between the poppet and the targeted human!"
