The Haunting of the Abandoned Mansion on Ma Chang Road

This is a small European-style building located right next to Ma Chang Road. It is currently uninhabited, and many of the windows are broken. Prior to the liberation, it was the residence of a wealthy capitalist who had a beautiful daughter. One fine morning, the maid called for the young lady to come out for a meal, but there was no response at the door. After consulting with the master, they forced open the young lady's room, only to find it empty. Strangely, her clothes were still here.

Not long after, Tianjin was liberated, and the capitalist and his family fled the city. Subsequent residents who moved in often heard a woman's singing coming from the rooftop in the quiet of the night. Some even claimed to have seen a girl in white nightgowns sitting on the rooftop at night, only to vanish moments later. As such occurrences multiplied, the current residents could no longer endure this torment and sought to understand the reason. They opened the ceiling of the rooftop to find a solution and discovered a complete human skeleton, dressed in a nightgown. Some speculated that it might have been the male servant who, fearing that the young lady would report his intentions to her father, strangled her in her sleep and concealed her body in the ceiling.
