Immortality doesn't mean Invulnerability

It was nightfall. The wind was howling rapidly. A woman with injuries and bloodstains on her pristine white clothes made her look like a fierce soldier. The High Priestess indeed was a warrior of excellence.

The injuries on her hand and shoulders were fatal but right now her main concern is finding her little Amelia. 'Amelia', the agony in her voice was crystal clear. That night, the voice called out the name many times, gradually fading away with the arrival of dawn.

Mia woke up with a sweat. She looked around to see that she was still in the lab. After a whole week of working to her bones, Mia could finally conjecture a new sample. After putting the samples carefully in the box, she thought about her dream.

For the past couple of days, this dream has been haunting her eerily. 'Have I watched too many fantasy movies that I can form a plot in my subconscious mind?'

But the world she has been living is itself a fantasy realm, full of vampires, werewolves, warlocks. In 1901, a peace treaty has been signed between the humans and supernatural species that nobody will harm each other and will continue to exist peacefully. Since then, they are in a symbiotic relationship with each other. The humans set up companies to provide synthetic blood and other supplies to the supernatural entities and also gets financial and security benefits.

The supernatural entities comprising five clans; Vampires, Werewolves, Warlocks, Fairies and Sorceress.

Because of a rebellion that broke out in the late 19th century, the supernatural entities singled out Sorceress. It was said that the Sorceress clan were experimenting and hunting down humans for the growth of their psychic abilities.

The battle was a cruel one. The High priestess of the Sorceress clan and ex-leader of the Vampire clan were said to be in love and would get married. But for the sake of the moral conducts and saving humans, he killed her in a battle that the High Priestess waged against him. After the treaty signing, he left the leader position to the youngest family member, Marcus Wang, to continue the legacy.

"He is involved with the politics and business of the Wang Enterprise, but he didn't assume the role of authority. Marcus Wang, the current leader, is a polite and amiable man but a shrewd businessman. Well, not anymore." Mia grinned.

Akira shook her head.

"Remember Mia, they are vampires, not mere mortals. They can squish you with their bare hands."

"Dear Akira, remember you once told me, many years ago, that Immortality doesn't bring Invulnerability."

"Did I? Cause I remembered you didn't heed to my advice and clashed with the vampires resulting in your broken wrist and legs and a week of rest at the hospital."

"It was years ago, and now I am ready. I just happened to know their weakness." There was a cunning glint in her eyes.

"Dear Lord, I will stop eating junk foods and will exercise daily. I will make 100 garlands in a month. Please protect her from her shenanigans." Akira sighed.

The car stopped at the iron gate of Wang Enterprise. "Ready partner?" Mia asked.

The face of the woman changed from a concern to a chilly expression,

"As ever as I will be."
