One day, a spaceship landed in the middle of the Capsule Corp lawn. As it opened, Yamcha settled into a battle stance in front of the door, only for Vegeta to come out of it, just as expected.
"Dang it. I was hoping that Kakarot had arrived." Vegeta immediately asked upon exiting his ship. His clothes were tattered and frayed from use, and he smelled like the broad side of a barn
"You mean you didn't find Goku in space?" Yamcha asked, surprised.
"Don't remind me! I'm frustrated enough as it is. Taking my anger out on a punching bag like you might be exactly what the doctor ordered."
"Try it! I've been training, and I'm sure that I can take you, Vegeta!" In reality, though, Yamcha was shaking in his boots. He had no idea how deep Vegeta's strength actually ran, but he was fairly sure that Vegeta's strength was comparable to Gohan and mine, who could both beat him down with one hand in our base forms, even while he was maxing his Kaio-ken out.
But just before they came to blows, Bulma shoved Yamcha aside. "Pe-yew, what's that terrible smell? Oh, it's you." She poked Vegeta in the chest, "When's the last time you bathed there, bud? You need a bath. This way, please!" As the other two stood there shocked, Bulma began walking toward her house. "Come on, then."
Despite his groaning, Vegeta followed her obediently. After taking a bath, Bulma dressed him in a pink shirt. But as he complained and argued with her, Yamcha, and Krillin about it, she told him something that made him think.
"Loosen up a little. Fighting each other isn't fun at all... By the way, if you're looking for Goku, then you should just stay here. He'll be back eventually, I'm sure of it. And I should know, I've known him since he was five years old, after all." Bulma told him.
...
Only a few hours after Vegeta arrived, we all felt it. An intense, overwhelming aura screaming 'DIE!!!'... no, two of them. Mecha-Frieza had finally arrived on Earth, and his father, King Cold, was with him. I'd been expecting this for a while now, so it didn't surprise me to feel it in the middle of a combat lesson with some of the young future Legacies, but over half of them immediately fell onto their butts, sensing the power coming from above.
'It's time for the moment of truth, huh, Shay?' I asked my jacket telepathically.
'No temporal anomalies detected, Hanna. And on top of that, Frieza's ship has locked onto Legacy. They're going to land right on the front lawn.' Shay gave me her status report, which made me bite my lip.
"Alright, everyone. Practice cancelled. Karna, I need you to get the other Namekians and send everyone who's not a Captain to the Tertiary Facility. Also, make sure that Rise sends out the energy flare while he's still here. They've probably locked onto the trainees' energies. You guys aren't strong enough to fight Frieza yet." I issued instructions to the nearest Namekian, who immediately ran off to carry them out.
After Legacy had begun to grow, I'd created secondary facilities across the globe to provide a base and shelter for high powered fighters in dire situations. The Paoz facility was the First, then the Second was another surface facility on the other side of the country. The Tertiary facility was another one that everyone above the level of Elite knew about. It was deep underground. Deep enough that it would mask the energies of trainees who hadn't quite mastered the basics yet. I'd have Videl and the Namekians protect the trainees there while all of the stronger Captains, drawn in by Rise's signal, which was another art of standard protocol, gathered here to help. I honestly didn't care what Yamcha did, but the rest of them would be able to help at least a little bit against Frieza and his father. I especially needed Gohan, since he was strong enough to beat one of the two without even going Super Saiyan, if the need arose.
Before long, a bunch of people had gathered. Pigero, Nappa, Piccolo, Tien, Chiaotzu, Vegeta, Krillin, Gohan, and, to everyone's chagrin, Bulma and Yamcha.
"You seem to have all gotten quite a bit stronger..." Vegeta muttered, looking around. Meanwhile, I plumbed the depths of Vegeta's own power level, which he was currently hiding 90% of. It actually shocked me almost into silence. I knew that Vegeta's power level had been higher than Gohan's by the end of the fight against Frieza, but he'd actually broken 8 million. Vegeta was officially twice as strong as my base form right now. In other words, he was strong enough to stand on even ground with Nappa after the bigger Saiyan maxed out his Grey Mode. Admittedly, he still wasn't near the strongest person around, but in base form, nobody here could match Vegeta's might.
"And if you try anything, you'll figure out exactly how strong we've gotten, Vegeta." Tien warned the Saiyan, but Vegeta just brushed him off.
"Now's not the time for petty squabbling. We should get out of here while we still have the chance! If we can stage a sneak attack-" Krillin tried to tell us, but Piccolo just shook his head.
"There's no point. Frieza already knows exactly where we are. Those scouters probably picked up on the Legacy trainees power levels. He'll be on guard."
"Who says it's actually Frieza!? Didn't Goku kill him back on Namek!? Plus, there's two of them!" Tien asked.
"Clearly, Kakarot didn't finish the job." Vegeta hissed.
"Frieza's a cockroach. Combine that with Kakarot's character..." Raditz agreed with Vegeta.
"Yeah, that's not surprising. But a second Frieza..." Krillin agreed with the two, knowing Goku as well as he did, it wasn't especially shocking that Goku allowed the tyrant to live. Not that it mattered.
"Don't worry. I'm pretty sure that Gohan and I can take them." Actually, I was one hundred percent certain that, as long as Frieza had his mecha parts, he couldn't get much stronger than he was on Namek no matter how hard he trained. That meant that my Super Saiyan form could completely shut him out, while Gohan's strength was likely almost exactly equal to Mecha-Frieza at his peak, so he'd be able to deal with King Cold pretty well. I wished that Future Trunks were here to deal with all of this for us, though.
"I-if you say so, Hanna." Gohan muttered beside me.
