Ch. 142: The Super Saiyan
"So what do you mean when you say that Goku transformed?" Pigero asked King Kai, but Shay interrupted before the Kai could answer.
"When Frieza killed Hanna right in front of him, the rage triggered Goku's dormant Saiyan potential. It's an ability that hasn't been used in roughly a thousand years, and it comes with an incredible jump in strength. His current power in that form should be capable of defeating the Frost Demon with ease." Shay explained, appearing behind Yamcha, who nearly jumped out of his skin in surprise.
"Man, it's weird that I can't sense you." He muttered, but everyone else ignored him, focusing on the important information that Shay had just given them.
"Frost Demon-?" Pigero asked, but King Kai cut him off.
"Frieza's race. That's not important right now... Shay, are you saying that Goku's turned into a Super Saiyan!?" King Kai exclaimed.
"What's a Super Saiyan?" Pigero asked, agitation cutting into his tone. He hated being in otherworld... out of the loop like this.
"I've only seen a couple of Super Saiyans in all my years... I had a suspicion, but this isn't the same Super Saiyan transformation that I remember..." King Kai mumbled to himself.
"But it is the Super Saiyan transformation." Shay told him.
"Oh dear. Goku..." King Kai bit his lip, suddenly incredibly worried about Goku. He'd been alive quite a long time, and he'd seen a couple Super Saiyans before... and it wasn't a power that he wanted to ever see again.
"What's the Super Saiyan transformation!?" Pigero yelled, annoyed.
"It's a rare transformation that's occurred a couple times throughout history in especially strong... freakishly strong Saiyans. I've been around a pretty long time, and I've only seen a handful of them... never one like Goku, though." King Kai started, "The last Super Saiyan was born a little over a thousand years ago. When he used that giant ape... Oozaru, form that you guys know so well, his fur would turn gold instead of brown, and he'd basically turn into a wild animal. Completely uncontrollable, just a raging, destructive beast. Eventually, he just destroyed a planet right underneath him. He died in the fallout... There've been a handful of them in the last few millennium... Giant, unstoppable golden apes that eventually just kill themselves with their own rage." He explained to Pigero, remembering the last one.
"I thought Goku lost his ability to transform when Kami cut his tail off last time!?" Yamcha exclaimed.
"He did. Somehow, Goku managed to become the second Saiyan to ever transform while in his human form, as far as I know... I just hope that he can handle it."
"Second?" Pigero noticed King Kai's word choice.
"Several millennia ago, there was another Saiyan who could transform like that without going ape... but this isn't as extreme as that one was. If Goku was that strong, you two would be able to sense it even from here, clear as day. I just hope that Goku can hold on to himself amid all the rage that that transformation comes with." King Kai said, a faraway, fearful look in his eye from the mere thought of the last Legendary Super Saiyan.
"And you see now why Mistress has taken an interest in it." Shay told King Kai.
"Alright, who's this Mistress you keep speaking of? And for that matter, who exactly are you? You're no Kai, Destroyer, or Angel, yet you're exuding divine power." King Kai asked her.
"Don't worry about it." Shay brushed the question off. Having half-expected this, King Kai just shrugged, "Anyways, since Mistress has taken an interest in Goku's current transformation, we've decided to intervene in certain ways."
"What do you mean, intervene?" King Kai wondered.
"Currently, there are dozens of living beings on Namek, yet only a handful of working spaceships. On top of that, the energy rebound between Frieza and Goku's daughter destabilized the planet's core, and it is almost certain that Frieza will attempt to destroy the planet completely in just a few..." Shay cocked her head, getting a telepathic message from Chelsea. "Nevermind. He just attempted it."
"WHAAA?!" King Kai quickly locked in on Namek again to confirm if what Shay was saying was true. Sure enough, in a desperate attempt to stop Goku from winning the fight, Frieza had attempted to destroy the planet below them, and now there was a hole going straight through to the core, which had been utterly destroyed by Frieza's blast. The planet's geography was going nuts in response.
'Goku, listen to me! You need to get out of there now! Find a ship and get away from Namek, it's going to explode any minute!!!!' King Kai attempted to warn Goku, even though Frieza had already explained it to the Super Saiyan. To keep Goku's focus from splitting, though, Shay blocked King Kai's message with an irritated look on her face.
"Are you done refusing to listen, now?" She asked him calmly.
Glaring at her, having realized that she'd blocked his message, King Kai gestured for Shay to continue.
"When Frieza attempted to blast the planet apart, my associates stopped it from exploding instantly, but the fact is that Namek will still be nothing but cosmic debris in about seven minutes. If Goku shows us that his current powers are capable of standing up against Frieza's own in the first four, then as a reward, we will teleport every current living noncombatant from the planet Namek to the planet Earth. Mistress has even graciously decided to revive every dead being on the planet that Goku would consider an ally and send them to Earth as well, so long as they died during this whole debacle with Frieza. That's the deal I've come to offer." Shay explained concisely, in a disinterested, almost bored tone.
"Wait, what!? You can bring the dead back to life!?" Yamcha asked, picking up on a certain part of her proposition, his motive clear.
In response, Shay shrugged. "You don't matter to me. I'm not dealing with things that don't matter to me. You have a dragon... you'll have two after this, actually, with the same scope of powers as me. If you earthlings can't survive with that on your side, I'm not going to rush in and fix your problems for you."
