Dragon Ball Broly : Surpass The Legend

A not so random anime fan choke and died after eating a broccoli. What greet him in the after life is nothing he would thought of. No Angel singing choir, no brimstone and fire. Only a bored looking man sitting on a throne in the expansive void.

Growing Power

I look at Vegeta as he ready himself with his iconic fighting style, with a little difference. He makes a spear hand instead of a fist, preparing a KI technique he learn recently. A bluish KI emitted from his spear hand and condensed into a blade. I in turn go into my Formless Stance and prepare for Vegeta's attack. Vegeta flies towards me in a straight line, his spear hand hidden behind his body, hoping to confuse my timing. Although it is futile because I'm not only using my eyes to see but also my KI sense. This is why, it caught me off guard when Vegeta suddenly veer to my right, spinning slightly so his right hand in front, with three fingers pointing towards me.

He shot the highly compact KI Blade to my head, which I reflexively dodge by turning my head slightly. The KI technique, which is a reminiscence of Majin Vegeta technique Atomic Blast, flew past my head. It still manages to graze my cheek, surprising me because the technique manages to penetrate my barrier. With that greet, I go on the offensive and fly towards Vegeta, startling him. I land a body blow and continue my assault with a spinning backhand.

Vegeta skidded across the floor, but manage to balance himself. He assault me with a barrage of KI blasts, dubbed "Vegeta's Technique™" by Goku himself, towards me. I decided to fly and do a shoulder tackle, coated by my KI barrier, towards Vegeta, bulldozing "Vegeta's Technique™" altogether. My shoulder tackle is blocked, but the force still flung him away. I gave chase with my hand in a grappling motion, positioned on my side. Vegeta charged a KI blast on his hand, but instead of shooting me with it, he shot it towards the ground area, dusting it. I heightened my KI sense searching for his whereabouts, but he's camouflaging pretty well.

'Would you look at that, he got a good fighting IQ on his head. He knows I can't take advantage of this situation as well as he is in this limited area because my power still can be felt even if I focus all my concentration to suppress my KI, and splitting my focus on KI sensing and KI barrier with KI suppression is a foolhardy' I thought, feeling amused by this whole situation.

I continue to use my KI sense while heightening my mundane sense. Suddenly, a fist is thrown from my left side, splitting the dust in the air, aimed at the spot under my ear. Instead of swaying back to dodge the punch, I turn my head to the fist and headbutt it. Vegeta shows an incredulous with a grimacing face, from the savage way I use to handle his punch. I felt a build-up of KI from below as Vegeta, not feeling deterred, spun while flying and deliver a kick.

A resounding crash reverberates inside the training room as Vegeta's KI-infused leg meets my right forearm. I grab his leg, spin my body to my left side while bringing Vegeta up then smash his body to the ground. He manages to put a KI barrier on his back, but the slam still manages to make him cough some blood. Not giving him any time to recuperate, I give him a descending punch towards his midsection from above, which he dodges by doing a backward roll. I chase after him and give a soccer kick aimed at his head, which he blocked with a cross arm, but it still flung him across to the wall. The impact shook the room and damaged both Vegeta and the poor wall.

'And that's that' I muse, looking at Vegeta, panting heavily.

"You're doing well Vegeta, you last longer than before," I said with a smile, while I walked toward him.

"Tsk, not as well as I hope if I still can't do any significant damage to you"

"Don't be like that Vegeta, you manage to make me bleed after all"

"That one is barely a scratch, and I need to concentrate pretty hard to make a KI blade that can penetrate your barrier. And you still haven't used your full power after all the promises you made" Vegeta says while gritting his teeth.

"Ah, we both know that's not gonna happen anytime soon Vegeta. If I use my full power you'll be dead instantly" I said in a joking tone. Well, Saiyan's equivalent of joking I suppose.

"And don't sell yourself short Vegeta, there is no one on this planet that can defeat you except me. Take pride in that" I gave him a grin.

"Hmph, I'm not an idiot Broly, Of course, I knew that, but it doesn't mean I'm satisfied with it. And don't compare me to all those pathetic excuses of a Saiyan, they besmirch our heritage" Vegeta says, giving a harrumphed.

"Sure sure, here let me patch you up and make your training armor again"

My hand starts to emit green light, indicating the Healing Magic at work. The first time I show Vegeta my Magic technique, his eye lit up in childlike glee, and command me to teach him how to do it. Sadly, I'm a sucker at teaching Magic, unlike the KI technique. Or maybe Vegeta just can't do it. I still explain to him that Magic and KI techniques are different, however, because while KI is using your body energy and anyone can train it, Magic is more like a hit or miss I decide. Vegeta still benefits from my Magic though, since I explain to him the way I train using weighted clothing. Healing also increases our sparing time, which in turn boosts our power level even faster.

Won't people already ask numerous questions about my Magic technique if I use it so blatantly? Not at all. After all, the only people who knew about my Magic is Vegeta and Nappa, and I know they won't tell a soul. Nappa because Vegeta and I coerce him into silence, and Vegeta because I explain to him such technique would make Frieza interested. And an interested Frieza is a no-no for him. He doesn't want to lose the only Saiyan who can fight him on, from his perspective, equal ground.

Vegeta has become so strong he probably can trash his adult self right now. With a power level of 44K which is astounding compared to an average Elite-Saiyan, from the scientist's point of view at least, it's no brainer that Vegeta becomes a believer in my grinding method and wants to monopolize this opportunity as much as possible. He also benefits from my insight regarding KI technique, battle strategy or a workout regimen, and a mindset that would be great to have early. He still regards me as a rival to surpass, but his primary goal for training is to see his limit and surpass it and consider fighting me as a test for himself rather than to prove his superiority.

This change of heart stem from my conversation with him about Frieza inducting our race forcefully into his Galactic Empire, and my vow to one day kill him because of it. Vegeta's eyes widen when he hears this, then smirk while saying "Count me in". While the cause might be a lie for me, as I have no sentiment for the Saiyan race, Vegeta still has high regard for the Saiyans.

My full power sits around 85K to 100K without using my Wrathful form, which is super easy to achieve after Vegeta and I train to control our Great Ape form. It's not like I need it as INVICTUS perk to prevent me from ever losing control, but questions will be asked if I, a barely mature Saiyan, can master a Great Ape form when every other Saiyan can only control it after they grow older and be taught how to rein in their instincts and retain normal cognitive functions as Great Apes. Thankfully, Vegeta manages to control it too. As expected of Elite-Saiyan, heh.

After a few minutes of reminiscing like an old man, I feel through my Magic that Vegeta's body is healing in record time. When it's finally done, Vegeta stands up from his cross-legged position and prepares himself to receive his own weighted armor set.

"How heavy do you want the armor set to be Vegeta?"

"How much do you use now?" Vegeta asks. Of course, he wants to compete in this too, which I respond with "500 Kg".

"Give me 250 Kg then," he said with a frown. Thank God he doesn't ask for the same weight as me, can't imagine a squashed Saiyan looks good as decor.

I materialized his armor and instantly makes him buckle under the 2.5 ton of downward force. I calmly watch as he tries to adapt to the new weight. He finally turns his head towards me, then he gives me a nod of farewell and a "See you tomorrow".

'Heh, I'm starting to grow on him' I thought as Vegeta's walked outside, still straining from the extra weight, from the training room.

After that, I do an after-workout stretch while going back to think about everything I've done since I started this daily combat schedule. It's been 2 years since Vegeta and I start training together, and while I'm happy with my overall progress, I can't grow complacent knowing the future shitstorm in this universe. I'm nowhere near ready to face Frieza even if I use my Wrathful form, and Magic can't help much if my opponent is much stronger than me. I can't even use Instant Transmission to teleport to another planet as I don't have the KI signature to lock on. Kai Kai still eludes me, and I know jack shit about how to ride a spaceship. My PREP-TIME perk probably can teach me how, but I don't have the authority or good excuse to learn how to drive it.

My only chance to escape is by participating in a planet subjugation sanctioned by Frieza in about 3 months. Even though I risk being discovered earlier, it's the only feasible way for me. Hopefully, we are not ordered to annihilate the planet's inhabitants, so I can lock on their KI signature for me to use Instant Transmission. If I'm lucky enough maybe I can learn how to drive a spaceship to raise my escape option. Otherwise, I will be stuck on this planet when Frieza gets murder happy with his Death Ball and I'm toast if that happens ladies and gentlemen.

'Ahh, I hate gambling my life like this' I groan

"Well, the only thing I can be sure of is my grind. Let's do this shit" I psych myself up and continue my training.
